The other reviewers are hitting it right on the head. This place is beautiful and the concept is great but small issues turned it into a huge disappointment. We ordered a hot pot and were misled by the pricing because the menu says 12.99÷16.99 but also gave two options for the meat choices. We thought it meant you either could order it with more meat or a different type for the higher price. There was no labeling that said it meant that«lunch» was the $ 12.99 option and«dinner» was $ 16.99. The biggest disappointment was that there was physically only two inches of broth in our hot pots! I’m 120 pounds and don’t eat a lot and I was still hungry by the time we finished, plus it was the most bland chicken broth I have EVER had. It was basically water with some salt thrown in. There are so many better options if you want sushi because their pricing was way too high for a conveyor belt style setting. These shops are popular in Japan, Taiwan, and China yet they were charging $ 11.00 a roll compared to other country’s $ 1.50 a roll. Try Shiki in Clearwater mall for great sushi all you can eat for $ 9.99. The sushi rolls looked kind of average with no glossiness to the rice which means it was probably not cooled properly or enough vinegar/sugar added. not promising. We didn’t eat any. Lastly the chairs and service. The chairs are either too short for the tables or the tables are too high… we felt like we were kids at the adult table at a family get together. The waitresses were inexperienced and looked quite messy for such a beautifully styled restaurant. Their hair was unkempt, the uniforms were baggy, and they had to work together to figure out other customers orders at the conveyor belt, there were very long lulls in service. Ultimately we probably won’t be back unless they start serving normal sized portions and work on their staff. It’s sad because it looked so promising!

Well I guess all the others have spoken the truth, this was an extremely poor experience. The place is beautiful inside with modern style décor. The booth are nice but they are to high and the seats are to close to the high table. I felt like I was in a high chair. The sushi was poorly put together and the rolls are smaller than the sushi at Publix. However, the Publix, sushi tastes ten times better. I ordered spicy tuna, spicy conch and Mexican roll for my wife and all three were lacking in flavor not to mention the rice was bland no flavor at all. Additionally, I ordered two nigiri’s octopus and eel. The octopus was ok a little over cooked but once again the rice ruined everything. The eel was the best out if everything and still only give it three stars. I was looking forward to this place but in my opinion, I should have taken the ride to IRB Sushi at Indian Rocks Beach for epic sushi. Take it from me DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY, you will be disappointed with this place. I hope they find a way to improve on the sushi because if they don’t this place will not last long in my opinion. One star for food but I will give them five stars for the beautiful décor and the great ambiance.

Damn, Ishii. You had the perfect location, most attractive signage, kick ass décor and conveyor belt sushi bar. You even had friendly service and STILL missed the mark. Hot pot is definitely something our area was missing from our big city counterparts. I was really impressed when I saw someone was attempting it so close to home. I was so excited for Ishii to open… What a flop. I walked in and was immediately impressed and intrigued by the sushi bar. There was only a couple guests. No big deal since they are the new kids on the block. I had really high hopes. With any hot pot, you pick the broth, meat and type of noodles you want. We ordered salmon in dashi broth with soba; the second order was sliced beef, kim chi broth with clear noodles. They each cost $ 16.99. Three workers came by to keep offering their house sauce, which was a concoction of various mixes from their«sauce bar.» The portions of the veggies were okay. The noodles were skimpy in portion as well as the salmon(don’t order the salmon; NOT money’s worth). The meats were not seasoned which is okay. What turned me off was the actual broth. There was absolutely no flavor whatsoever! I realized at that point that the sauce bar was meant for customers to mix their own broth. I realized also we were paying $ 17 to literally cook every part of the meal ourselves. That’s right, ladies and gentleman, yourselves. You are paying them to give you ingredients to cook. This is a terrible business model. If you are relying on your customers to make their own soups and they screw it up, they won’t enjoy their meal. The broth is the most important component to any soup meal. Seriously, what a lousy and lazy way to do business. Needless to say, the uninspiring bland soup wasn’t saved much no matter how much sauce we tried to mix it. We seriously left feeling so disappointed. We left feeling like Ishii had the best location and a great potential. The Mexican roll tasted like mediocre Publix rolls too. I really realllllyyyy wanted to love you, Ishii. I really did. Close, but no cigar. Won’t be back, but wishing them better luck in the future.

Bland as could be. The reviews before this one hit the nail on the head. Waited eagerly to get a hot pot restaurant in the neighborhood only to be sadly disappointed. Service, great. Appearance, phenomenal. Food, gawdawful. I started off with my typical Mexican roll. Worst one I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant in this area. No flavor whatsoever. Their signature shabu shabu had no flavor in the broth. The gf and I ordered differently to try the most. Couldn’t tell the broths appart. Veggies seemed good and fresh the fish portion is small. Between us cooking it, having to add all our own flavors(which is a chemistry experiment), and the steep price tag, I won’t be going back nor recommending it, I’d rather do all that at home for better quality and less expense. Shame…all the right peripherals but missed it by THAT much.

We really wanted to love this place… we basically counted down the days until it opened. We went there today for lunch and were extremely disappointed. First I will say that it looks very nice inside. They remodeled the entire restaurant that was there previously. It’s very modern and clean looking. They really did a great job on the atmosphere. There is a rotating sushi bar in the middle of the restaurant that looks pretty cool. You just pick what you want as it passes in front of you. We were tempted to sit there but thought it would be too distracting for our 3 year old. They have other booths and tables, however, since this sushi place also has«hot pot» dishes, every table had fondue pots built in. We were just there for sushi so it definitely wasted space on our table but wasn’t that big of a deal. What was kind of annoying was how close the tables were to the booth seats. And underneath the tables were heaters for the fondue pots so we definitely felt a bit claustrophobic. I ordered ginger salad and my husband ordered miso soup. The ginger salad was ok… it seems hard to mess up iceberg lettuce and ginger dressing but I’ve had better… My husband said the miso soup was good but the portion size was so small it was like the size of the dish you use to mix soy sauce and wasabi. For $ 2.99 it was a little disappointing. We ordered edamame which was good. Again hard to mess up, salted well and done perfectly, but a small portion compared to what we consider normal. We decided to only order 2 rolls since we weren’t sure what to expect. The spicy tuna was spicy tuna. Nothing fantastic, very simple, but tasted fresh. The scorpion roll had soft shel crab but it was way over breaded and over cooked and it didn’t mesh with the other ingredients in the roll. We really didn’t even care to finish it. Not good for $ 11. Something else I found odd at this sushi place was that I had to ask for chopsticks, soy sauce, and even the dishes to mix the soy sauce and wasabi. I’m giving it a 3 because of the ambiance, the variety of options and because it wasn’t completely horrible. But we won’t be back until they establish themselves. Maybe these things are growing pains of a new restaurant, we were just hoping for so much more.

Meh. It’s ok. Sushi is on par with a higher quality grocery store roll. The shrimp tempura isn’t devained so that’s kind of gross. Edemame was cold, hard and dry with no flavour. I haven’t tried the hot pot but that looked better at other’s tables. If I come back that’s what I’d try and stay away from the gimicky conveyor belt sushi.
