YOUNGINNATENTIVESERVERS; MEDIOCREFOOD(2 ½ STARS) When my boyfriend said we were getting hibachi for dinner, I became excited, thinking we would be going to a place similar to Arigato’s(R.I.P.) or Edo. Once I did a little research, I realized we would not be going to a leisurely sit-down dinner, but rather an express hibachi place. I therefore adjusted my expectations. Still, it was not wonderful. We were helped by a woman who didn’t seem particularly enthusiastic to help us, which always really frustrates me. Yeah, I get it, NOONE wants to work. But… just do your job, dude. Part of doing your job is communicating to the kitchen. My bf’s mom ordered the chicken tempura as an entrée. Still, her meal came out a good 10 minutes before everyone else’s. I think we can all agree how irritating that is… Anyway, I got steak & scallop hibachi, and the amount of protein on my plate was skimpy. My boyfriend just got the chicken and seemed to have a TON on his place. If we ever go back(which I highly doubt), I’ll only order one protein. Aside from the waitress’ flippant attitude, the food was actually pretty tasty. Nothing out of this world, but good enough that I wasn’t totally disappointed.

Very disappointed. I was on my way home from work and my typical Japanese place was already closed. Called here and asked if they had steak teriyaki, to which they said«yes, we have a steak hibachi teriyaki». I asked what it included and they said steak, mixed vegetables and teriyaki sauce. Sounds sufficient to me, so I ordered it. When I was there to pick up, I remembered that my usual place typically doesn’t use as much teriyaki sauce as I’d prefer. After leaving a 20% tip on takeout, I asked if I could have a small side of teriyaki sauce, just because I didn’t want to open it up and find out if there was enough in there. They quickly told me they would do that for a one dollar charge for the side of sauce, which I calmly declined. I get home and open up the togo box to find very plain cooked steak and non-seasoned vegetables which appeared to be lightly grilled. I cannot see a drop of teriyaki sauce anywhere! Teriyaki sauce is traditionally thick and dark amber colored. I’m telling you, is not a single drop of sauce in here and I’m almost done eating it right now. Called and expressed my dissatisfaction. The same woman who took my order over the phone explained that the steak is «cooked in teriyaki sauce, but it doesn’t come with any teriyaki sauce on it.» I called bull crap on that and told them I wasn’t going to bring it back or ask for a refund, but I would never be going there again even with this being my first visit. They apologized and that was it. Shame on them.

So the kid’s wanted to go here ranting about this little place in Largo that they go to and how great it was. Well the four of us went and I ordered the shrimp and beef. Shrimp were ok but the beef was chewy. Kids enjoyed their meals and rolls but they were nothing to write home about. I ended up changing my star report from 3 to a 1 star because why pray why do they have to use msg in their dishes as my stomach is kicking it to me now.

I’m never going again. I’ve given them a fair shot. Ate there 4 times now. I have never had fresh rice. I think they cook their food a day ahead. Twice now I have received cold dry chicken. It was cooked and put in the fridge and taken out and cut. The rice is always hard. The same exact thing when I got steak. No way their food is fresh. Never again will I go. Don’t waste ur money.

This place has to be the absolute worst«Japanese/sushi» restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. The server couldn’t understand how to take an order to save her life. Every roll has the same ingredients. The restaurant it tiny. No sashimi, no panzu, nothing. I’d advise to drive past this place of you saw it.

Finally tried this cute little hole-in-the-wall place. Both my girlfriend and I had the grilled shrimp bento box, containing grilled shrimp, 2 pc Gyoza, 4 pc California roll, mixed veggies, miso soup($ 1 up charge) and fried rice. While both the shrimp and the fried rice were cooked properly, they were almost cold when served. When the waitress finally checked on us, I told her that and her only reply was«I’ll tell the cook». No offer to replace it or even to warm it up. The Gyoza and Cali roll were standard, nothing special. The miso soup was OK but was served just ahead of the bento box, and was definitely not worth the extra dollar up charge. So, the food all came out at essentially the same time. At the RIDICULOUS price of $ 14.50 per person for lunch, I expected a lot more. There are much better and more reasonably priced alternatives, such as Sushi Kabuki.

This is one of our favorite spots. Great Sushi, Hibachi, & Udon Soup! Some of the best I’ve ever had. I would put this place above any of the other places in a 15 mile radius.

Oketo was a great little gem in largo ! We went last night and were seated rather quickly. Service was a little slow since there were only a few staff members working. I got a tuna roll and shrimp tempura udon, both were delicious and fresh. The udon broth was very flavorful and savory. My mom got the tuna roll, salmon roll and an Alaskan roll(avocado, salmon and cucumber with smelt roe). She enjoyed all 3 rolls. My brother got the chicken hibachi and the Alaskan roll. And he enjoyed both. We will definitely be retuning !

Overall an enjoyable experience and decent food. I skipped the sushi even though it would normally be my go to dish. This is due to the fact they do not serve nigiri or sashimi. To me that says their fish isn’t up to par so they cannot serve it without something to mask it. My husband and I opted for the hibachi dishes and overall they were quite good(the white sauce was too sweet for our liking though). I ordered the shrimp, steak, and chicken and my husband had the steak and chicken. Everything was well cooked and the shrimp wasn’t rubbery. We had the onion broth soup with the meal and ordered the house salad on the side. The salad was a few pieces of iceberg with some ginger dressing not that wonderful and not worth adding on to your bill. If you are not a soup lover it is okay enough as your meal side. My husband is a fan of the fried rice and I highly enjoyed the soup. Overall a nice experience.

I have been passing by this venue for a while when the opportunity for a quick dinner arose. My son and I had a bento box, shrimp udon soup, and a couple of sushi rolls. They were the solid side of adequate, but not stellar. The server was pleasant and efficient, and seemed to want to please The food was OK. The menu was far ranging Japanese, kind of like a a diner. Everything was there and passable, but it wasn’t the best in any category. They did not have traditional green tea, but Jasmine tea. OK, close enough. For my udon soup, I asked for some togarishi, Japanese pepper flakes, but they didn’t have them. Small stuff like that. And so on. To the good side, the items were priced more modestly than in a specialty Japanese place. So there it is. OK, all there, but so-so, like a diner. Feel free to partake, but just know what you’re getting.

A small, unique, and yummy sushi spot in the Largo/P-Park area. Fantastic prices and friendly service. Probably the best sushi you will get in this particular area. As other reviewers have said, it is a great compromise for price and quality. There are some great roll combinations and a little gift store connect to the back. I really loved the boba drink I got as well. I would go back here again if in the area but wouldn’t travel there out of my way for it.

Not as pleased as I used to be. Food is still very good but they would only serve the tuna and salmon as a roll. I wanted it as either sashimi or nigiri. Would have paid a bit more. Will not support a restaurant that can not cater to customer requests. Will not return.

Very small sushi/udon/habachi place kinda hidden in the back of a small strip mall. When we arrived there were not many people showed up it as we sat there many people walked in who the owners recognized. This is a good sign that customers were returning and bringing people with them. We started off with wonton soup and for once there was more wonton than broth. 3 massive wontons in a savory broth was delicious. Then we ordered various rolls and were impressed with everything. Great service, great food, great price point. We are coming back soon to try the udon and habachi!

This is by far the best compromise for quality and price for sushi by Indian Rocks Beach. I tried their lunch special for the sushi, which consisted of 2 rolls. I had the California and the spicy tuna rolls, which were both very fresh and made with good quality ingredients. The cucumber in the Cali had a nice crunch to it and I appreciated the roe on top. It wasn’t too much, nor was it watered down like«smelt» roe. I also ordered a Thai boba tea, which was on par with what I would expect at any of the other Asian establishments in Pinellas Park. They topped me off with some whipped cream, which was different, but in a good way. Definitely not for those that are counting calories, but it was a nice touch. My only slip was that I didn’t call my order in ahead of time. The time was not dreadfully long at 15 – 20 minutes, but I was just hungry and needing some food stat. I work across the street at a physical therapy clinic, so the commute to work was not that big of a deal. I had more than enough time to eat it before I had to start working. Overall, I would rate this place as above par for beach sushi and they are well above average for their use of fresh ingredients for their sushi. The tuna was real tuna, not that mushy stuff that you see in other places. At $ 9.50 for the special and $ 4 and some change for the Thai boba, this was not a bad lunch. It is now on my «Lent Friendly» list of places to eat whenever I am down at our Walsingham office for work. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is very quiet and intimate. I will definitely be bringing my husband here.

Beware! Tuna was out of date, it caused food poisoning. I was so excited to try this place once I saw that it had opened. Nothing but disappointment and illness. Our Spicy Tuna roll was extremely spicy, which is not an issue for me but the fact that they were using the spice to cover up bad fish is unacceptable. The first piece of the roll tasted a bit funny but only had a small bit of tuna in it completely covered in hot sauce so I could only really taste sriracha. The next piece had more tuna in it. Definitely could tell the age of the fish with that piece! Yuck. It was really out of date because even with all the hot sauce and wasabi on it, you could taste the rotten fish. One small piece caused food poisoning. For anyone who is still interested in trying this place: We also ordered a chicken tempura appetizer, chicken and steak yakisoba, and a chicken tempura udon. The chicken tempura appetizer was not crisp like tempura is supposed to be, it was even worse in the udon soup because the batter became completely soggy and started to fall off. The noodles were mushy and over cooked. The broth was flavourless. The Yakisoba was another disappointment the noodles were over cooked and swimming in oil. The vegetables were so over cooked they were just mush, both the chicken and steak were unbearably tough. I could go on and on about the lack of flavour as well. In conclusion: STAYAWAY. Even if you’re going to treat it like a fast food joint and not try any sushi, it is still subpar.

People must know that Sushi is and Japanese food is very difficult to execute. The Tuna from experience is 100% frozen with Carbon Monoxide hence the pink red-ish color. Nothing is authentic about their execution. Fast food is at its best. Check the noodle prep. How are the Raman Prepped? Udon what is in the broth? This is from my experience.
