I’ve been coming here for years and always liked this place… until now. This place has a new owner and partnered with a off site bakery. I selected a sesame bagel, a and blueberry loaf slice to go. Before this would cost around $ 3. They charged me $ 6.49(3 for each plus tax)! I asked for that price if they include cream cheese, and of course the answer was«no». It was cold and hard. I just gave it back to the guy and left with the loaf slice. Lesson learned! Never going back there again. I could understand these high prices if the place was high-end, in a high-end area. But it’s a little dive located in a shaby strip mall across from unlv. And being that it’s across from unlv, students probably make up a good amount of their clientele. And not many are going to want to pay $ 3 for a bagel, when you have coffee bean and Einstein Bros walking distance away. Donuts are kind of an after thought now, and I wonder if they’re even made on site anymore.

This review is based only on my experience with the Kronuts. Omg! These buttery, flaky, layered donuts are pure bliss. I had the vanilla crumb Kronuts filled with raspberry jam and oh boy were they good. Think about the best donut you’ve ever had, then about the best croissant you’ve ever had, now put them together and that’s what you can expect from a kronut. They’re to die for!

Al’s cronies are pretty delish! Just come early if you want choices! This place was pretty picked over but we did manage to find something yummy!

What’s up with the lack of quality donut shops in this area? Walked into Ed’s as a second option to find a mostly empty donut case with a little old lady who barely spoke English telling me she had no plans of making any more. It was noon on a Saturday by the way and they didn’t have one chocolate donut on hand. I ended up buying two irregularly sized chocolate bars, and when I got home, found them to be so old and dry, they were inedible. Hence the 1 star. Terrible selection, terrible service, terrible quality, and sub-par establishment.

Stopped here for donuts and my first ever Kronut today. They didn’t seem to have a huge selection of donuts/kronuts available, but they had one maple bacon Kronut left and it was delicious! I don’t know what some of the other reviewers are saying about their donut being hard– this was soft and flakey and wonderful. Granted, I’ve never had a Kronut before, but this one seems like a good one to start with. The other donuts we had(we got a dozen) were soft and delicious too. Other than the small variety, no complaints here. The location is kind of a hole in the wall thing, the area looks like it’s pretty old and a bit rundown, but the inside was clean, although dated in appearance.

Decided to come in today since it’s National Donut Day. Walked in at 12:50pm & there are no more donuts ATALL! Me: «Where are the donuts?» Lady behind the counter: «There’s no more» Me: «Are you making more?» Lady: «No. We close at 3» Me: «That’s in 2 hours. Today is National Donut Day. More people are going to want donuts today. « Lady: «Most people come in the morning. I made 4 batches today.» Ummm…ok? WTF? That’s just bad for business!

I didn’t actually get to eat any donuts. I came in at 11am on a Saturday and there were only about 10 donuts left. Just some leftover chocolate ones. The case was pretty much empty. They must be that good or the place just doesn’t want to keep a full stock.

Oh me oh my I am on such a Cronut high! Went here early one morning and was happy I drove across town for these. They have quit a variety and 2 size of cronies to choose from. Small place behind 7eleven across from UNLV prices were not bad and offers other doughnuts as well but the Cronut are the stars!

My friend made me stop here because she wanted some donuts, and while I was waiting in the car I saw that they had KRONUTS. AHHH I have literally been trying to have a kronut for months, and am so happy I was finally able to try one. They had a large selection of kronuts left, and I ended up choosing the kronut with vanilla frosting and cinnamon crumbles on top. I ended up having the kronut at home, and it was perfect. It was soft, delicate, and basically reminded me of a croissant except in donut form. Are kronuts deep fried? The vanilla frosting was a bit strange, but the texture of the kronut was just right. I will definitely come back here every time I am in town to try the rest of their kronuts. I also had a regular glazed donut and it was so soft and fluffy. yummmm

I am supremely grateful to have a donut shop located right across the street from UNLV. For those days when I don’t have time to eat breakfast, Al’s is a life saver– Cuz you don’t want to see me hangry! Al’s Donuts is on Maryland and E. Harmon, tucked behind a 7 – 11. In the same parking lot is a bar and a Roberto’s. The donut shop itself is small, quiet, and unremarkable in the best way. On the mornings I’ve visited the shop, I’m greeted by one of two women. One is super friendly and the other, not so much. I’m not too concerned about the bipolar in betweens of the customer service at Al’s though because I’m in and out within less than 2 minutes. As long as I leave with a donut in my hand I’m happy! The donuts are average priced. If you order a regular donut, i.e., a chocolate bar, it’s going to run you 99 cents. If you’re looking for something fancy, like the infamous cronut, you’re going to shell upwards of $ 3. The regular donuts are same ol’ same ol’. I like that they’re fresh and not too sweet. If you’re looking for sweetness overkill, order a cronut. I tried the chocolate cronut covered with nuts, and I was delighted. It was my first cronut, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I would definitely get it again. It wasn’t greasy at all, just super flaky and crumbly. That cronut was sitting like the Leaning Tower of Pisa! There was custard inside that added some more richness, as if I wasn’t satisfied enough with all that chocolate and deep fried goodness.

Warning fellow dessert-ees — these kronuts r so generic n ill-tasting. any praise given is mostly likely frm someone who has never had an authentic, light, flaky, n melt in ur mouth kronut. The icing on my vanilla crumb flavor was too sweet n thick. I’m pretty sure it’s the same cheap icing albertsons puts on there $ 1 cinnamon rolls. There was custard inside. Who puts custard in a kronut? The whole point is to peel it’s layers to enjoy the light croissant like texture. Lastly, it wasn’t even light and flaky. It was almost too hard to eat like it had been sitting out for a while. I thought I’d give Als a chance bc no other place in town serves kronuts so readily, but I do not recommend going here for all the kronut craze.

The cronuts were ok, wasn’t impressed. Came in one afternoon to get some cronuts as my friends were craving sweets and send me to do their biotch work. I got one of each of the 4 flavors of cronuts and brought it back and shared them. The only one that was decently tasting was the maple bacon one, which was somewhat soft. The other 3 were hard, not fluffy and tasted like regular donuts. Cronuts should be flaky, not doughy like a regular donut. Large cronuts $ 3, small cronuts $ 2. Expensive for something that’s not that tasty. Rather disappointing.

Al’s Donuts is located on E. Harmon at the corner of Maryland Parkway, kind of tucked away in the back corner of a little shopping complex. You’ll find plenty of seating inside though and it was decently clean too, which is always a plus. When we arrived around 10:30, there wasn’t a single customer in the shop and we were surprised to see they still had a decent selection to choose from. Aside from the usual coffee and donuts, they offer a few breakfast sandwiches as well. We ended up ordering only about 8 donuts all together, including 2 kronuts(yes, they spell ‘em with a K here) and a couple drinks from the fridge. Our bill was about $ 20 so I’d suggest sticking with coffee or just doing a pickup if you do come here. The donuts themselves weren’t horrible, but they weren’t great either. For the most part, the textures were ok. The regular donuts were really soft but the kronut was lacking in the flakiness department. My biggest problem with pretty much everything we tried, was the taste. Literally everything but the dough itself had a very artificial flavor. From the bacon, to the maple and the worst of them all, the jelly fillings. It’s a very distinct artificial flavor that does not put a good taste in your mouth. For the kronut fanatics out there, I would definitely say it’s a no go. There was no kronuts offered without a custard filing and this made them too mushy for me. Another big thing that put me off is how much powdered sugar was on them. I went to take a bite and coughed from inhaling it. It’s just overkill. I didn’t get a chance to try any of their regular donuts, like a classic glazed and I imagine they wouldn’t be that bad. But since we normally only get donuts when we’re craving them, or if we have plans for the day and wake up too late for breakfast, a return trip to Al’s is highly unlikely for me.

There was nothing standout for me here. :/A certain someone set my standards for kronuts very high and these were definitely not up to par. I went with a regular glazed kronut and a jelly filled(my favorite donut). The jelly filled was dry and crunchy from sitting out and the filling tasted very… Umm… «imitation» I think is the word I’m looking for. The kronut was OK. It seemed doughy to me instead of the fluffy, flaky texture I’m used to. We chose a few other flavors of kronuts and regular donuts, but nothing I will go out of my way for in the future. It could be our own faults, we went later in the day around 10:30. So now you know when not to go. You’re welcome! :D It’s no where near our side of town, we found it on our way to cookie bar. It’s located in the back of a tiny little lot off of Harmon and Maryland Pkwy. On the left hand side. Like everyone else said, directly across from UNLV. Hope you have a better donut adventure!

My mom wanted to try the infamous croissant/donut and so I went on the hunt. They were out at the two places I tried before Al’s, so third times a charm. We arrived around noon and there weren’t any in the display case, but the lady behind the counter let me know that they had some in the back that she was busy dressing so we had free reign on what flavors we could have. By free reign, I mean we were able to choose from the three flavors they have: chocolate, maple and vanilla. I opted to try the chocolate and maple. We didn’t order any regular donuts. This donut shop is right across from UNLV, on the corner or Harmon and Maryland. It’s small and not particular noteworthy and a little on the dingy side. The pastries were large and a little overly sweet for my taste. I love powdered sugar, but they were covered in them, so it was a bit of overkill. For the most part, the pastry was moist and had good texture, but I don’t see myself going out of my way to try them again soon. I likely won’t be back unless I’m in the area again, but it’s a good option for students or those who live in the area.

My first time having a CRONUT was here at Al’s — to be exact it was a Maple Bacon Cronut! Sooo much better than a regular donut! Crisp outside with a light, buttery, soft inside — and more of a savory snack. Not TOOO sweet, definitely a craving pleaser. Must try! The actual place can use a little TLC though… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have to confess, I’m tired of «boughie» overpriced donuts. We have them everywhere in LA and while they are delicious, my wallet doesn’t quite agree. Thankfully, Al’s Donuts is just a straight up non-pretentious donut shop. They have a wide variety of options and I tried their version of cronuts. It was straight forward, non-snobby, and delicious. We picked up a few different flavors and devoured them all. You won’t find weird toppings here. Just the good ol’ favorites: sprinkles, chocolate, lemon, bacon, well, you get the picture. Check out their website for a full listing of flavors. Just a word of caution, the area where this shop is located is not… the best. There is a pawn shop right next door and it seems to attract some interesting people. I went during the day and nothing happened, but while I was driving away, I did see a barefoot woman in PJs drunkenly chasing her half-naked kid in the parking lot. Just saying.

The Kronuts are to die for! I suppose I could give this one more star but it’s just your average neighborhood donut shop; nothing fancy. The staff is friendly, and the donuts are amazing! Kronut– croissant-doughnut hybrid

Itty Bitty Al’s Donuts Review: — After dinner last Thursday with the family, Dad said he wanted donuts for breakfast the next day. — Unilocal app to the rescue! Al’s Donuts was just down the street. Never knew it was so close to UNLV. — Arrived around 8:00pm and a fresh batch of glazed was just coming out of the oven. — Spied cronuts in the case! Half a dozen glazed to go is all we got, though. — Dad loved them and said they still tasted good two days later. He and Mom take a while to eat donuts. There’s nothing like the classic and simple glazed – delicious! — I’ll be back to try the cronuts.

I stopped by after work on a Sunday morning. They are open 7 days a week and make Cronuts 7 days a week. They were located on E Harmon Ave/S Maryland Parkway Blvd in The Promenade across from UNLV in Las Vegas. My first time eating a cronut! Part croissant and part donut. Yum! They have been making them for about 3 months. They had 2 different cronuts to choose from, although the flavors vary each day. I ordered 3 Chocolate Peanut cronuts and 3 Maple Bacon cronuts. I had them filled with Bavarian cream. I will be back.
