I absolutely love this place. I came here a few years back and instantly had a connection to the singers who are also your bartender. There is nothing but true talent here. I haven’t been in a few years(sorry guys) but time is everything and I made my way back in. Mj our bartender/Whitney Houston beast of a singer is one of the best talented and just pure human beings on this planet. I can’t wait to come back and hear more. Frank was also amazing on the keys. Huge voice that can slay a song. Love all comedy in between. This is a place that you must experience when in Vegas!!!

Open mike, stiff drinks and you can smoke inside. Very chill. Will bring friends. They except song requests. This was on a Wednesday night

Have been here a number of times, and it never disappoints! I had friends in town for the Rock ‘n Roll, and about a dozen of us came in on quite a packed Saturday and had a great time. I have returned on my own many times, and I always have fun. Stopped in briefly on New Year’s Eve, and Jill & Frank helped ring my 2016 in perfectly. Jill sang splendidly, her voice is freaking gorgeous! Frank is so, so kind. I’ve sung while slightly intoxicated, forgot my song, went off key — you name it – yet he continually provides the best treatment. Feel so welcome and have so much fun in DTM. Frank is so fun, love when he does his«Sweet Home» state shout-out song, too. If you want to kick back and enjoy amazing singers, there is that. If you’d like to sip a bit of liquid courage and go for that Bruno Mars or Leonard Cohen rendition you’ve been practicing in the shower — go for it. You won’t regret it.

Such a fun place — we enjoyed most of my birthday evening here and really had a great time! The bartenders had so much personality and could really sing and the atmosphere was really fun and lively! Drinks were reasonably priced… definitely so compared to any bars on the Strip!

This place is kinda a cool gem. They have a piano and people that work there sing quite a bit to someone playing the piano and if you know a song you are more than welcome to sing too. It’s usually pretty slow everytime I’ve been in which makes it less fun but if your drunk it’s a good time

Awesome bar. a throwback to New York city, drinks were plentiful, quality, and reasonably priced. Service was excellent bartenders were friendly and part of the show. Frank on the piano was amazing. Regulars like Ira and Tristan were amazing. Frank can play anything. Had a great time!

I had my bachelorette party here this past Wednesday, and WOW, what a great time! I’ve been wanting to come down here to Don’t Tell Mama for ages, but I don’t ever go downtown unless I can help it. When my bridesmaid suggested it, I was eager to say yes! We arrived at 8, just as the pianist was starting. If you read my reviews frequently, you know I’m a big karaōke goer. This was SO. MUCH. FUN. I asked to get up and sing right away, and while I forgot the words to my first song, I still had a blast! In my drunken state, I HAD written down the names of the bartenders, pianist, and manager, as they all were AMAZING in making my night so fun, but… countless Patron shots ensured that I misplaced the napkin. So…whoever was there Wednesday night: Thank you. I have already told ALL of my singer friends that we have to plan another night out. We had so much fun!!! Thanks again!!!

Super fun little place! I went here on a first date, and it was a good choice. In between«sets,» it gave us a chance to talk, but we could also enjoy the music. I thought it was kind of weird that some of the customers were able to get up and sing, but it was fun to watch. The piano player and singers are all very talented — tip them, especially if you make a special request! I wish there were more places like this in Las Vegas. I look forward to going back, even if the date ended up not working out!

My friend and I met up with another friend here. Although I frequent DTLV I had never been here before. The place was crowded, thankfully the friend we were meeting up with had saved us seats otherwise we would not have had any. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. She was prompt with greeting us when we sat down and was prompt with bringing us our drinks. She later sang with the pianist and nailed it. She had an amazing voice. The bartender sang with the pianist as well and did a fantastic job. Amazing talent. The overall vibe of the place on the night I went was great. The people there made it more enjoyable with getting up and singing with the pianist and just having a great time. I will definitely be back to check it out again.

This is a fun downtown bar. It’s got a piano with a rotating list of performers. The décor is minimal, but it’s a nice ambiance. It’s definitely a small place. There’s seating at the bar and then a few seats along the wall. When it’s not overly crowded(a.k.a. standing room only), I really like this place. But it does have a serious lack of good cocktails and beers. So essentially, you come here for the music and go elsewhere in Fremont East for drinks.

This Vegas trip we wanted to get away from the typical clubs and VIP b.s. Downtown is the place. This was one of three bars that we were lucky enough to catch before they closed. What? Apparently Vegas does sleep. On the night we went, it was piano karaōke night. Pick a song, the piano man does his thing, random amateur singers do theirs. But the singers this night were far from amateur. Strong, cheap drinks, a fair share of locals and travelers. And a side of Vegas that I enjoyed more than dropping hundreds of dollars for a bottle of watered down Vodka. Really cool place that I will visit again and be sure to take friends to when the money starts running low.

I had a good time here! Ok so it seems like every night is karaōke night with a twist! There is a 1 drink minimum. Which is fine, it’s a bar and if you aren’t drinking you shouldn’t be in here. The only cider they have is Stella Artois Cidre. It’s pretty good. $ 7 for a beer is a bit steep for me, though. So it’s pretty dark and pretty noisy. If you want to talk you have to yell. Pretty relaxed though. There is a big white piano which a man sits and sings. He is pretty entertaining. I enjoyed it. So now that twist. Not only are there songs you can sing karaōke to but you sing with the guy playing piano and read the lyrics out of the lyric book!!! Ok so that sounds hard!!! But some of the ladies in there did awesome!!! And some well are just brave, lol. Great for bachelorette and birthdays. Just have a good time and some laughs.

Don’t Tell Mama is a a cute little no frills piano bar in downtown Vegas. You’re not going to be blown away by the hundreds of thousands the owners spent sprucing the place up just for your delicate sensibilities, ’cause they didn’t. It’s small and dark with tables and booths along the wall. Looks like a dive bar. Feels like a dive bar. LOVEDIT! We went on a Wednesday night about 8:30 and stayed for a couple of hours. Started slow and started filling up more by about 9:30 Yes, there is a full bar. We stuck with beer so I won’t be doing a review on the drinks beyond saying that the service was fast and friendly. I liked all of the staff there. The Blue Moon bottles were $ 6 but there’s no cover charge. They cut off one guy who was obviously toasted and needed to leave, but without any fuss. It’s nice to see things handled well. The piano player, Kenny Davidson, was top notch. Ran through the standards you’d expect, Billy Joel, Elton John, Beatles, and such. Able to handle anything the audience threw at him. Fantastic, especially on the Elton John songs. You can’t have a piano bar without a fantastic pianist, and Kenny was excellent. The bartenders could sing their tails off. They did a number of covers that I recognized but couldn’t tell you the names of the artists beyond a Miriah Carey and a Cher number. They were having a blast performing and really do have the chops for it. Very much appreciated! Now, things came off the rails with the professionals dropping in for a little play time. One of Las Vegas’ crown jewels, Savanah Smith, dropped in and did a few numbers. She started with a piece from Wicked that was as good as what we saw on Broadway several years ago. A jazz mash up followed that was even better. I haven’t been been blown away like that by a vocalist in years and I’ll freely admit to being a music snob. A little later, an a cappella quartet, These Guys Acapella, dropped in for a set. Again, Wow! Looking them up later, I saw that they’re out of L.A. Definitely worth seeing if you get the chance. Don’t Tell Mama is one of those places that you don’t know what you’re going to get, but it’s going to be good, for the most part. One caveat: They do allow people in the audience to tip the pianist and get up and sing. Two of the folks were awful, but fortunately not too hard to ignore. Good mix of tourists and locals. Just a fun time all the way around. It’s hip little spot where you can let your hair down. You don’t know who or what you’re going see, and that’s part of the fun. The immediate area is fine. The surrounding area is rough. I’d park in the Fremont Experience parking or at the public parking lot next to the Container Park. I wouldn’t park down some side street ten minutes away to save on paying for parking. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and casinos all around the area, so it’s not going to be difficult to make an evening of it. One suggestion would be to bring enough cash to tip often. The bartenders bring around the tip bowl after their performances and push for tips for the pianist, too.

Great for bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday parties, divorce parties and after work kickbacks! Depending on the pianist they can play pretty much any song on the piano you want to sing. If they don’t, they look it up, so no excuses not to get up on stage. Don’t forget to tip your singing bartenders and piano host, too! Great times!

Don’t tell mama is a chill spot just off the Fremont Experience. It is just my speed! I love listening to the bartenders and patrons sing. When you’re not feeling like dancing and get tired of the video games at insert coins, this is the place to go to lounge. It’s a small place but I’ve always been able to sit down. I love that whole fremont east area, it’s walking distance from downtown hotels and easy to bar hop.
