I love going into art galleries. They profile worse than TSA. They don’t even acknowledge your existence if you look like you don’t have money. His stuff is nice but if you’re dressed casually, you may not even be helped. I experienced the same thing with his gallery in Waikiki. When they ignored me in Waikiki, I walked 2 doors down to Wyland and bought a very nice piece of art.

Peter Lik is a world known photographer where he takes shots of landscapes, and more. The photos makes you feel relaxed, angry, happy, and other emotions I probably can’t describe because art is unlimited. Tauna, art consultant, was extremely helpful. She really helped my friend decide on the art what works with my friends current collection.

A friend took me here and I absolutely loved the photographs! Well worth a walk through Mandalay Bay to experience this gallery. You will not be disappointed!

We were walking around and randomly came upon this gallery. All of the pictures were beautiful, but I was impressed by the Portland photo where it looked like Lik had taken the shot straight out from Avatar. My favorite by far though was the«Temple of the Sun», where there is a ray of sunlight shining through a crack in the rock somewhere around the California coastal shore. I couldn’t stop staring at it and wanted to buy it, but not for the«limited» edition of 950 prints with the starting price of $ 4K.

Incredible glossy huge photo prints that are a joy to look at, and of top quality. Well worth a look, and if it is your style, well worth collecting too!

I am a serious Peter Lik collector and my preferred gallery is Mandalay Bay. The service has been superb and I highly recommend Sales Consultant Steven Rain. He has been incredibly courteous, informative, and goes that extra mile to make sure you are happy with your purchase. I live close to the La Jolla, California Peter Lik gallery, yet I make all my purchases through Steve Rain at Mandalay Bay, because of the extra service I get. With regard to Peter Lik, I disovered his work in 2000, when he was only known in his native Australia. What a find! I’ve been collecting since. Be assured, the shots are superb and the coloring magnificent. I guarantee it is not just the special gallery lighting. Guests at my home spend HOURS looking at his photos, as do I. It seems every time I study them, I see something new. I cannot describe how he can make a photo look like a painting, or a photo of canyon rocks look like flowing silk. Well worth the investment because of the joy and beauty it will bring to you.

Peter Lik is one of my most favorite photographers of all time. I can look at one of his images and really get lost in it for a long, long while. His remarkable photos make you feel like you’re looking out the window and really there seeing this beautiful landscape. One thing that I’ve completely forgotten and was reminded by one of the staff here is that his work is processed on special paper — so as the light changes in the room that its in, the colors and warmth of the image changes along with it. Absolutely and stunningly beautiful. And I’d have to mention that for the people who scoff at digital photography work, and criticize«photoshopping»…any person can take a picture, but not everyone has vision. Same goes for post processing — anyone can learn photoshop, but there is still talent and technique involved. «There’s an app for that» doesn’t cut it. Any budding or professional photographer should know that you are at the mercy of the elements to get that right shot when doing landscape photography. Sometimes you can wait hours for the right conditions and light, and only have a very small window to get THE shot, before mother nature changes again. I would LOVE to one day place a pano in the bedroom so I can pretend I wake up to the blue and frothy beach(google Peaceful Shores) every day. Maybe a red blazing sunset(Dreamland) or a green, peaceful forest(Divine Light) in the living room. Its not the same if you look at them online — but they are quite compelling when you see them in person. This gallery is not as big as the other one in LV, but the staff is still very nice and helpful. If this sparks an interest, the Rodney Lough gallery would be a good one to check out too.

I ducked in here on a whim, little knowing how many seconds I had left before my socks would be knocked off. Peter Lik’s astounding work isn’t backlit or a mere by-product of Adobe Photoshop(although how much digital post-processing takes place in Lik’s photos remains an item of hot debate on the Internet). Skill + skill + skill(+ expensive medium-format/large-format cameras) + more skill = huge crisp, luminous, saturated photos of natural scenes. The gallery is small(down one short row and up another), but I found the work so breathtaking that it was like getting a free mini-trip to a museum. Not everyone will be into the HDR-like look, of course, and the prices are indeed up there. I’ve partially knocked off a star because of the high dollar figures, the other reason being gallery size, although it’s not like I can say what art *should* cost. Still, the staff is very friendly and willing to chat about the pieces as well as Lik’s background and methods, and I didn’t feel like I needed to act like I was going to buy something. I suppose they welcome the possibility of new fans.(That’s where value comes from in the fickle art world, right?) Wandering in here while at the Mandalay Place shops was an unexpected treat. Be careful, though, if you have any aspirations to professional photography: there’s a 50⁄50 chance you’ll end up too humbled to become inspired!

This place has an amazing amount of beautiful photography. After attending a wedding at the Mandalay Bay, we stopped in here and looked around. The staff was extremely friendly and informative about the pictures. Even though we were not in the market to buy one of these wonderful photographs, the staff still took time with us to show us around and explain how the lighting works to bring out the best in each piece. Overall, if you’ve never seen Peter Lik’s work, I’d recommend this place, and if you have, still come in. He does amazing stuff. I really enjoy landscapes and he does a great job with these too.

We stopped into Peter Lik’s Mandalay Place Gallery while waiting for an event to begin at the Luxor. My husband and I are fans of his work and whenever we are in the area we pay a visit. The gallery is pretty average for a «mall» setting and had a large selection of his pieces. There were two people working and one greeted us. He asked us if we collect Peter’s work. Our answer was no, I really wish we could afford his photographs. The salesperson still took the time to explain and talk to us despite knowing that we were not in the market to buy art that day. I appreciate that because so many times a salesperson will give you the cold shoulder if they don’t think you will purchase. My attitude is, hey, you never know… someday we might be able to purchase a Peter Lik Photograph and that salesperson’s attitude might sway us away from any future purchases. So, it was nice to find someone who seemed to have the same perspective as myself. I would love to return someday and make a purchase. In the meantime, I will visit the gallery and grow my appreciation for Peter’s work.

Beautiful stuff in this gallery from the Australian Peter Lik! I love his shots of the sandstone caves and the Grand Canyon. I especially liked his«Tahoe Galley» but at $ 4750, I’ll have to hit the big jackpot in order to buy these amazing pieces. Check out: Ghost(see: ) Ancient Spirit(see: ) Antelope Canyon(see: ) Echoes of Silence(see: ) Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff! Talk to Joesph Strother — he’s great! pix laters…
