I was in need of a snack. I didn’t want a big meal, just a snack. Mexican sounded nice. I didn’t want to sit in a proper restaurant. A taqueria will do. But where does one find a taqueria in the middle of Las Vegas? Well, we saw this place and I told hubby it’d suffice. I was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant filled with Mexican clientele. We sat down and the server walked over and immediately started speaking Spanish to us. Hmmmm… I can try to handle this. I asked for a few minutes. She complied. We then decided to grab 2 tacos each and get lil guy a plate of beans and rice. When the server returned again, we ordered 2 tacos al pastor and 2 tacos carne asada, plus a side order of beans and rice. We also included a horchata and a diet coke. Nachos were brought to the table along with salsa fresca. It was good. When the tacos arrived, I dug in. VERYVERY tasty, especially the al pastor. I also tried the beans and rice. The beans were a bit watery, but it had the cojito cheese sprinkled on top. The rice, however, was excellent. I guess my child has a great palate because he said the beans were yucky and only ate the rice. Generally, he’d eat the beans and not the rice because frijoles tend to taste better than the arroz at other places. The glass of horchata was HUGE… in a 32 oz cup. Our total was $ 15. Another great bargain in sin city! And yes, I’m proud of myself for finding it.
