It didn’t look it but it wound up being a great meal. It’s an old schooling hideaway feeling place or a cross between that and velvet deco. Whatever server was great and all our meals were far more tasty then our expectations. So if you’re tired of fish and chips at the pub next door… This works. I didn’t feel any more costly than what you’d expect from Vegas and it will be s different experience

What a cool experience! The moment you walk in you get this mysterious, dark, vampire feel! Lol but it’s cool! Lol it is dark in the restaurant so if that’s not your vibe, I would ask to seat in the from t of restaurant. There’s more lighting there. Our waitress was extremely nice and answered all our questions. We ordered the inside out French onion grilled cheese appetizer. This was good, but… This isn’t your typical grilled cheese. The flavor was different and a little weird for me. Not that it was bad, just wasn’t for me. We then ordered the French onion soup, Shepard’s pie, and the pot pie nuggets. The French onion soup was so different from what I know as a French onion soup. Whatever was marinated with the onions, just didn’t taste right to me. However, my fiancé absolutely loved everything about the soup. So to each there own. The Shepard’s pie was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I heard this was a newer item on their menu and they need to make sure they keep it!!! The pot pie nuggets are pretty legit! The texture to the flavor were on point! You must try these! We loved the fact that we had a few staff or even manager, not sure, come over to ask how our food was and if we were enjoying everything! To me that’s great customer service! I know I wasn’t fond of two of the items, but I still believe they deserve 5 stars!

Honestly, meh. Prices on high side for location. Limited menu. Very cramped seating; we were literally sandwiched a foot from diners on our left and right. Very awkward dining experience. We ordered appetizers since nothing on menu really appealed to us. Ordered half dozen chilled oysters for $ 23(not the buffalo fried oysters on menu); truffle mac n cheese, tasted like it sounds; both meat and cheese platters, since they don’t offer one platter with both… and a couple drinks. The appetizers were good, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for dinner given the prices vs. ambiance.

A favorite place of mine when I am staying at Mandalay Bay. The ambiance of this place is so cool! It’s dark and sexy(if you think Steam Punk is sexy!) and has so many interesting things to look at. I’ve eaten here 2 or 3 times, and service and food have always been spectacular! I got the sustainable«True North» salmon and Hubbie got the surf and turf sliders because he wasn’t very hungry. My husband and I don’t typically order salmon in restaurants because cooking salmon is one of my specialties! I think the server talked me into it, and boy am I glad he did! So out of this world good. Hubbie loved his sliders, too. Tried a few desserts, but they change these out frequently so I won’t waste your time telling you to try a specific one. The last time I was leaving here I saw HUBERTFRICKIN’ KELLER eating here. If he chooses to eat here than I really don’t know what else there is to say!

Best place to eat inside of Mandalay bay. Good place to relax and try a new type of drink. Try the smoked whiskey and cola, bacon wrapped bacon and egg. If you sit at the bar ask the bartenders what they like on the menu. You won’t be disappointed!

I was extremely excited to try Rx Boiler Room primarily due to the reviews about the interesting cuisine and atmosphere. My husband and I made this our first dinner in Vegas when I met up with him during the Vegas leg of his tour, so naturally, the expectations were pretty high. Checking in and seating were easy and I was very impressed with the look and attitude the restaurant conveyed. Love the tone and décor ! Very steam punk, victorian, industrial. Service was unfortunately, very lackluster to say the least and I’ll go into that later. We ordered the chicken pot pie nuggets, duck confit poutine, rib eye, coffee rubbed flat iron steak. Everything we had, with exception to the coffee rubbed steak which was just OK, slightly better than average but nothing that would beckon a return. I ordered a cocktail that wasn’t too great but that was my improper choice. My hubby got himself a soda and a water. Not once did anyone come to offer a refill of either. He emptied both early on and multiple people came back to us several times but nope, not one refill of either of his drinks. He had to drink mine! It wasn’t a huge ordeal but enough to be noticed from a $$$ establishment. I doubt we’ll be coming back again. So sad too, I had such high hopes.

I had a party of 10 people for my birthday, I made the reservation a few weeks in advance to make sure we could get in. We got there and the restaurant was pretty slow, so I was a bit concerned at first. But here is what happened; We ordered drinks, our waiter took that order and spent another 20 minutes trying to get them to our table.(The bar was empty, why the lag here folks?) Then one of us ordered a very expensive bottle of wine, so the waiter went to go «find» it. That took almost 30 minutes. There we sat waiting for one bottle of wine. They ended up not having it, so the manager gave us two free bottles. Nice right? Food: Pretty dang good. I would’ve give the food alone 5 stars because it was very good. Nothing was overcooked or undercooked or took too long, but the waiter took a long time to bring it out to us. I am not sure if it was his first day or what. I asked the manager since there was 10 of us, if could we get another waiter or perhaps a 2nd one? He said he would take care of it, but really… nothing improved. That part kind of sucked. The manager was very nice though… Lastly, remember that very expensive bottle of wine we ordered and didn’t get? Yep, they charged us for it. $ 125 for something we never got. Nice right? The manager took that off and we were on our way. Sorry RX Boiler Room, you missed the mark. Food = 5 stars, Service = 1 star. Stick with beers, the short ribs, and an app or two, and then go gamble.

I love how unique this place is! The décor has kind of a mad scientist vibe to it. I came here specifically to try the chicken pot pie nuggets. Such a unique idea for an appetizer! I’m guessing they make them like how soup dumplings are made — freeze the pot pie mixture and then coat it in batter and fry. Just my guess though. They were deslicious(and piping hot!) but could use some more filling. The dough was thick and too filling. I ended up opening the last 3 or so and scooping out the yummy pie filling.

Pricey for the experience. Good Food. Lousy Waiter. So-so. Not eager to come back. Excited to be dining at Rick Moonen’s restaurant, we made a reservation for 8:30 on 10÷21÷15. We were seated promptly but had to wait a while for a waiter — who didn’t even introduce himself — to show up. I was curious about the cocktails and had a few questions but the waiter doesn’t have an in depth knowledge on them. Husband ordered a Hard Root Beer and liked it. Started with Bacon Wrapped Quail Egg($ 12). Love the overall taste, but didn’t like the hard brioche toast. Both Lamb Shank($ 34) and Braised Short Ribs($ 38) are excellent when they were hot, but the Shank gets dry as it cools and the risotto gets watery. The Mashed potatoes($ 8) is simply divine. A saving grace — It is smooth and creamy. Shallots and capers provided extra texture. Overall, 3 stars for food and 1 star for waiter. Bit disappointed. Wouldn’t rush to come back.

We loved this place so much last year, we went back again this trip to Vegas. Last time it was a business dinner, this time we went with friends. Everyone loved it! The Steampunk décor is wonderful! I love everything about it, though noticed that the server’s clothes had changed this year and were less Victorian than before. But interesting art all around creates a fun atmosphere. The food is delicious. We shared a number of different dishes, though one of the things I liked most was the Duck Confit Poutine appetizer. I wished I wasn’t sharing and that it was all mine! The only thing I didn’t care for was the long wait for dessert. We ordered a chocolate bread pudding, and the waiter didn’t advise that there was a long wait time for them to make that. Two people had to get to the airport and were getting antsy. By the time we got it we were rushed and not happy, so it would have been better had he explained it would take a half hour. Other than that, we loved the meal, and all of us can’t wait to go back again.

I do NOT give out five stars easily, but this place deserves it. Wow!!! Started with the fabulous smoked whiskey and cola. Then on to the bacon and egg appetizer(amazing — we ordered two!), and bacon wrapped figs stuffed with blue cheese with balsamic glaze. Fabulous. For dinner, we split the braised short ribs. Perfection from start to finish. This is an unexpected gem that you must try!

RX Boiler Room is a fantastic Mixology Bar!!! I can’t believe I had not noticed this place and I visit Mandalay Bay Shoppes often. The drinks are quite impressive and expensive about $ 13-$ 22 a drink, I feel its justified based on the location and what goes into making it. For example, I got the Smoked Whiskey & Cola consists of a double shot of 12 year aged George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey, house made cola and vanilla bitters. Tastes a 1000x better than any Jack & Coke I’ve tried and packs a wallop of a punch after only drinking two glasses. The food is equally pretty delicious, the Duck Comfit, tater tots Poutine and the Four Cheese Mac I can eat that all day. The inside décor is very victorian-esqe and steam punk it provides a casual, cozy, relaxing atmosphere. The service was outstanding, I chatted with Cory one of the bartenders working that night. He’s a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. In fact, I tested his skills by asking him if he could make me a custom drink based on a recent episode of Jimmy Fallon The Tonight Show. It involved tequila, jalapenos, orange bitters and syrup. Not only did he make it, but he improvised and made it taste better. I appreciated him for doing that and it solidified the experience, so I’ll definitely recommend this place to my friends.

We went last night and I started out with the Smoked Whisky and cola and I loved the presentation but like the flavor of the drink better. We started out with the Guacamole with Big Ass chips, and yes they were big ass chips! The guacamole was the best I have EVER had!!! We also had the Chicken Pot Pie nuggets which were just as they were stated. They were good also. I had the Chef’s Catch which was shrimp with grits with a quail egg. What an amazing combination of flavors and was very good. My wife went with the Coffee Crusted Ribeye, which was very tender and flavorful, but a little fatty. We shared the mac n cheese, which was good, but nothing as excited as the other items we tried. I loved the décor, and the service was very good also. A nice change of pace at the Mandalay Bay Shops.

The décor and atmosphere is awesome! Very steampunk, so much to look at and the service is fantastic! The menu is very eclectic, our drinks were super tasty. Prices are fair, they offer a discount with Unilocal check in. We didn’t get any food, but I would come back for drinks anytime!

This review is based on happy hour and we got great value for money here. The bartender was attentive and gladly helped us out on telling about the different beers. The guaccamole was fantastic, and so were the bacon wrapped bacon(!) –order two. The place had a cool hipster atmosphere and no noisy crap music playing :)

Located in Mandalay Bay Rx Boiler Room is really weird. Not normal in almost any way except for the food which is also not normal. I had a taste of their cheese board and the cheese was outstanding. The standout was the blue cheese and the goat cheese. I ordered a Cesar Salad and if you look at my picture it is not normal. I really like how they used the full leaf of the lettuce and just laid the anchovy on top. My main course was a lamb shank. It was served with Couscous with a slight balsamic vinegar taste. Really a fine solid dish. Odd in that nothing matched. Silverware, glasses, plates all kind of like the dishes you find in your home. My water was served in a mason jar and my wife’s was a wine glass.

I was surprised at how good the food actually was… They definitely promote themself as a mixology place but they do food well!!! The duck poutine with a quail egg was straight up awesome, I mean some really distinct flavors going on with this dish. The cheese curds were more like a tater tot with cheese in the middle and they were a nice alternative to fries or curds. I’m not usually a big duck fan, but this was prepared right and with the quail egg and that au jus type sauce they have mixed in it was a really impressive start to the meal. Everything worked together and was made perfectly. I had the lamb shank for my entrée and it was also VERY good! Literally fall off the bone, which lamb should definitely be and a huge portion to boot. Items are marked as a la carte, but think twice, mine came with rice and given the size as well as an appetizer, a side would have been too much. I opted for an off the menu drink, I was feeling something hot… I asked for a bourbon with some kind of jalapeño or habanero bitters and the bar tender dealt me a solid drink. I can say it was a little weak with the bourbon, good but could have used a little more kick. We only had one drink each because of time, but I would have loved to come back and try some more stuff. Easily our favorite place we ate at during our visit and 10% off for Unilocal checkins doesn’t hurt:)

It’s total taste bud treat. Rick Moonen is one of my fav celebrity chefs. And I still love that this spot and RM Seafood(right downstairs from here) are his flagship restaurants where he himself actually spends time. This is essentially a high-end gastropub. It’s playful and whimsical. The ambiance and vibe are awesome. Kinda steam punk and lots of red. Intimate and romantic. But, at the same time, totally unpretentious. The servers are friendly and knowledgable. The beer list is great and features local brews. And the cocktails are unique and adventurous — and totally tasty(and pack a pretty good punch too). The food is crave-worthy. So yum and delicious. I’m literally salivating writing this review right now. The poutine was fun, unique, and I want to run there and get some more right now. Instead of fries, it’s tater tots. And there’s duck confit and a fried egg too. Yum yum. And the squid o’s are one of the best dishes I’ve had in awhile. Again, completely unique and different. And oh so tasty and crave-worthy. And the salmon and the salads and the shrimp and the short rib and… And well, the list goes on for absolutely everything I’ve tried here. This is a unique and flavorful adventure. Come here with an open mind and an adventurous stomach. Go outside the box and order something you normally never would. You won’t be disappointed.
