Entirely too much money for those old outdated appliances.

Hi… I have been a resident for 2 years and I really love where I live. The property is always taken care of from the outside grounds to inside the units. The staff is outstanding. They are always very helpful and understanding. The staff is always been so professional and always make sure things are taken care of in a timely fashion. I love that the community provides different functions and gatherings to show their appreciation to the residents. I really feel like Camden at Russett is the best place to live in especially in the Laurel area. The maintenance staff is just as great. I know them all since living on the property and I can say each Camden at Russett employee is dedicated to what they do when it comes to maintaining the property and keeping the residents happy. If you want to live in a nice community, quite, clean, and such a professional staff that makes sure your needs and requests are met you would love to come to Camden at Russett. You would love the staff, the property, the amenities and everything else that comes with living at Camden at Russett. I really appreciate everyone in the office and the maintenance staff for making my stay here wonderful and have no plans to moving anytime soon. Come join the Camden team you would love it!!!

We lived in a second floor at Camden Russett for three years. We didn’t have any major deal-breaking problems, but enough minor ones that we were relieved to finally get out of there. Once we did, of course, we were screwed out of $ 1000 of our initial security deposit, despite leaving the apartment in great condition, even patching all our own nail-holes in the walls, and despite being assured(verbally and repeatedly!) that we would get all but the ‘optional’ deep-cleaning move-out fee back. Some damn expensive cleaners they have there — !! Based on our experience with Camden, however, this was unsurprising. The community itself is nice, and convenient to major stores and highways, but as other reviewers have said, it’s surrounded by crime, homelessness, and lack of security/protection from these factors. We initially fell in love with the spaciousness and layout of the 3bed/2bath apt we lived in, but quickly realized how overcharged we were being. There were soooooo many things wrong with the place, from move in to move out, and we found maintenance to be largely incompetent. Actually, we aren’t even sure it was incompetence — many instances it appeared to be straight laziness. There appears to be a lot of discord between staff members; they all talk crap about each other, and they all tell you different things. The leasing office staff were all perfectly pleasant to interact with, but I quickly came to feel I was being told what they thought I wanted to hear, as few of our problems were truly enduringly solved to our satisfaction. We once had a mediation with the manager and two maintenance men, during which one of them abused the crap out of my husband, calling him a ‘liar’ who didn’t even know what he was complaining about. The customer-always-right policy definitely doesn’t hold up here. They’re constantly trying to fine you for things, petty things, like not tying up your trash bags the correct way, or losing a pool wrist band, or whatever other junk they can come up with. A lot of this is warned of in the fine print of the lease, but the extremity of their ‘warnings’ was still sometimes shockingly ‘high school’. Most infuriatingly of all, in spite of these issues, every year at lease renewal time they tried to bump the rent by THREEHUNDREDDOLLARS. We already felt ripped off by the starting price of $ 1700, but such a sudden jump was completely out of line. We knew we would only be in Maryland a short time, so to avoid the hassle of repeated short-distance moves, we wrote firm letters each year reminding the staff of all the many service requests we had had to put in, and of our great renting history, and usually got away with a bump of $ 100 or less. By move-out, we were paying just under $ 2K — for an extremely flawed APARTMENT!!! — but we had many neighbors who were not so lucky. There are worse places to live, especially in Laurel, but oh my goodness, keep looking. These people will screw you out of every penny they can shake out of you, and will mess you around a lot in the process.

DONOT!!! ABSOLUTELYDONOTMOVEHERE!!! This area is riddled with crime. There have been multiple break ins, break in attempts, armed robberies, car jackings, broad daylight, all times of the day. The management is not doing anything. My family was robbed months ago and nothing was done! There are no security measures being taken. Renters and home owners are being victimized WEEKLY!!! I don’t understand why this is not in any of the reviews. The neighborhood has so many homeless people living in tents behind Walmart and in the several motels down the street. People are begging for money in the parking lots. This area is not safe! NOTSAFE! All the rent we pay and there is no security. There was a townhall meeting and all these promises were made. Save yourself the trauma and stress!!!

The managers of this facility are either incompetent or worst, racist. I sign up with an African American lease agent who gave me a printed quote with upfront cost. Two days later I went in to sign the lease and submit my check; his Caucasian female supervisor informed me that the previously issued quote was not valid and I needed to pay 6x what I was previously quoted.
