I like pando express when you want to eat some clean Chinese food. I like the steak that they serve worth the money.

Panda West has been my go to delivery chinese option for a long time now, probably nearly as long as I’ve lived here(~10 years), mostly because let’s face it, there isn’t great chinese in Laurel. Mandarin House actually does a decent job, but doesn’t deliver so Panda West has been my fall back. It’s not excellent, but the food generally isn’t overly greasy, overly breaded or otherwise really disgusting and the delivery is generally efficient and friendly. Unfortunately I’ve recently called on the later side on 2 occasions and no one answers! Their website says they close at 10:30 on weekdays, the takeout menu, 10 and on 2 occasions a call around 9:40 has resulted in no one answering. If I can’t get it when I’m home late and really stuck for dinner, what’s the point. So what would have gotten 3 stars gets 2.

This place reminded me of chinese restaurants in the 80’s and 90’s. They had old furniture and had laminated chinese zodiac placemats. The food was OK. The lunch special was around $ 7.00 and they gave you pretty good portions.

This little hole in the wall has gone way downhill since I worked in the area and was a lunchtime regular. I was the only sit down customer, but had to wait as the only visible employee(I could hear another in the kitchen working the woks) took phone orders and dealt carry out. There was no bound menu, only the paper keep-by-the-phone version, so I guess that’s the new owner’s business model. But the good old Chinese zodiac place mats were laminated. So, in a déjà vu response to the familiar room with its crane mural and panda scroll, I ordered my old favorites. The hot and sour soup was on the low end of ordinary: too hot, no sour, too thin, boring solids, but the fried noodles were thin, crisp and grease free. The moo goo gai pan still had lots of tender chicken and fresh mushrooms, but the bok choy was replaced by broccoli and and green cabbage, both undercooked. Green tea bag in a Styrofoam cup almost lost the third star, but it was saved by the fresh mushrooms.

Good food, fast service and always consistent. The lunch menu is great, where else can you get so much food for $ 6 and never have to wait. I call ahead and by the time I arrive the food is ready and it is always less than 10 minutes. If you are looking for a quick good lunch in Laurel I recommend.

Just ordered takeout general tso chic. The sauce was rancid and the chicken was over cooked! Do not waste your money here.

If a place gives you average service, average food at an OK price, is that worth 2 or 3 stars? I’ve carried out here about ten times and this place is just plain ordinary. The food is ok but dull, the service is lukewarm. I was leaning towards giving them 2 stars if only as a message that mediocrity is not cool, but in light of the fact that they’ve got my order right and on time every time, I’ll give them 3 stars.

Panda West is as good as it gets. I never give 5 stars because nothing is perfect but I’ve never had consistently good, friendly service from a well kept restaurant like Panda West, even the delivery service is great. The ONLY place for good Chinese food in Laurel.

If you are in the area and want Chinese food this is the place to be! They have a huge menu and would probably make you anything you asked for. It’s always fresh and hot. They have an excellent«Chinese Ice Tea» which is made available to go and enough for two people. The fried chicken wings are part of the American side of their offered fare and are quite good. They are liberal with the meat and all the portions, even the lunch, are enough for two people and reasonably priced. They always seem to be open and willing to deliver. They could use some skills with the phone etiquette but I give them a pass for not having been raised here(which somehow makes the food better). (Stars are curved given the choices in the area)

I’ll first admit that the food at Panda West is decent, by low-quality Chinese restaurant standards. The customer service, however, is poor. I spent nearly $ 30 on 3 dinners and got 2 spring rolls for free. Every other Chinese restaurant I know calls their vegetarian rolls, spring rolls. However, when I got home and bit into one of them, I received a rather shocking surprise: a piece of shrimp. And for religious reasons, I have NEVER eaten shrimp. I called Panda West to complain and got a terrible attitude from the person that answered. He told me I should have mentioned when I ordered that I don’t eat shrimp. Maybe he’s right: I should have mentioned EVERYTHING I DON’T EAT. But his crass behavior on the phone and unwillingness to empathize with me lost him a few customers(my family and friends) and gained him a negative review on Unilocal
