They are open ALLYEAR! I was super happy to find this out. There are only 2 Rita’s in the Fort Meade area that are open all year… this happens to be one of them. I guess most are closed to bring the excitement for summer time(that’s what the Rita owner [of this location] said)… but the real reason is most normal folks may not want ice cream when it is freezing outside… Anywho… Rita’s is always a 5 star. Creamy Ice, Fruity ice. Creamy custard. We came like 10 minutes before they were about to close– the lady didn’t act annoyed that we came with 7 orders before closing… so that was def a plus. Oh and this is a sit down Rita’s! :)

This was my first Rita’s experience, like love at first sight, flavor at first taste. Tasty flavors all the time and excellent customer service. Store is clean and plenty of seating area.

Great Service, flavors are on point and perfect place for Italian ice year round!!! No need to deal with mall crowds with the need to cool down plus plenty of parking all around.

They say the first step to recovery, is admitting that you have a problem. Well, My name is Joe and I’m addicted to Rita’s vanilla custard. I don’t know what it is about Rita’s custard, but i’m hooked. I used to stop in and buy gelatis with my family, but now i’ve dropped the ice all together. I’m now a full blown custard head. My girl tries to make me get Blendinis, but my habit has become so bad that i prefer that my custard not be stepped on. I might used a waffle cone bowl as paraphernalia, but other then that I only mess with raw custard. Picture scarface in his pin striped suit, sitting behind his desk with a mountain of vanilla custard, and then press play in your mind. Thats how serious I am about my custard. The employees at this location are very helpful. Though I know what I want before I even get there, they take the time to help my kids find flavors that they will like, and even offer samples. My only issue is that they didn’t have the strawberry custard that I had been wanting to try, but it didn’t effect my rating of the store, because I haven’t seen it at every location i’ve been to. Great job!

Awesome beat described this place. The shakes are to die for and everything else they serve. The staff is very friendly and there is always service with a smile. So if you are looking for the best come to Rita’s! You will not be disappointed.

Deliciously reliable Italian ice spot located in a nondescript shopping center. I’m not really a fan of the location or the variety of flavors available at this particular Rita’s. But it’ll do on a hot day, when you’re just to lazy to drive to another Rita’s. I got the black cherry and vanilla gelati to satisfy my sweet tooth. My husband got the strawberry and vanilla gelati. Both were good. It was really hard to venture from these classic flavors when the other choices were mostly geared towards«kiddy» palates. Not worth more than a 10 minute drive, if that means anything. If you live or work in the vicinity, sure… head on over!

It’s not Italian ice. It’s cheap flavored slush. It’s not gelato, it’s ‘gelati’, a gummy, not-real-dairy concoction. I don’t understand the enthusiasm. Go to the Sweet Frog’s in the same shopping center to get decent frozen concoctions. We’ve been to Italy several times. To many other US cities with good gelato, and Italian ices. I got the mango gelati with custard. Quit after eating a third. Just not that good. Watery fruit flavor with non-dairy oily tasting ‘custard’. Sorry. I like to find something positive to say!

Great service! The employee willingly helped me decide on what I wanted since I was indecisive. She made it full to capacity and when I tried it I wasn’t fond of the flavor. Without hesitation, she made me something else and even topped it off with a cherry and whipped cream. She was so kind about it and even made a joke about how she has so much time so for me not to be embarrassed. I was very impressed and the milkshake was DELICIOUS. Go Ritas!

The staff are super friendly and there is a good selection of flavors/flavor combinations. They even have a board with recommendations for flavor combinations based on the ice/custard/mix-ins they have that day. You can also sign up for e-mails to know when they have your favorite ice! Also, they are open year round(they have indoor seating), so you never have to deal with the disappointment when the stand shuts down for the season. And free Wi-Fi!

Map is wrong. But that’s okay as long as you ask a local for some help. Loads to choose from, and this location is ridiculously bright on the inside. Friendly staff, and wow– open year round, who would’ve thunk?

The Italian ice was incredibly refreshing, however they had limited flavors to choose from. The store had run out of 5 flavors and were down to 2 to choose from. I’ll have to try this place again, but I guess I am a little bitter since I was so disappointed when the place you go to for Italian ice has none to offer.

Finally… Ice. Custard. Happiness. This location has the following going for it: 1) Open year-round 2) In a shopping center so it’s much easier to get in and out 3) Good amount of seating inside 4) Almost walking distance to Corridor Fine Wine — The two could make for some nice concoctions 5) Within walking distance of a Tar-jay(YAY!) My favorite flavors are piña colada and green apple. The fruit punch tastes like Hawaiian Punch and the Island Fusion is refreshing. They also have Slenderita here, which is the fat-free version of their custard. Fat-free and I mix about as well as oil and water, so you’ll have to try it for yourself if that’s your thing. So if you’re ever jonesing for a gelati or blendini, this place will be open. And you can get yourself some cheap alcohol at Corridor as well. Note: They make a feeble attempt at outdoor seating but hey, at least they tried.
