My girlfriend and I love going to new diners and experience different things. Usually we love the new atmosphere and the food we were going to eat. This is not one of those times. I’m not one to complain and be complicated but the experience I had motivated me to do this. First of all, the lady was rude. Did not even acknowledge us when we came in. We were sitting down for about 10 minutes when she finally gave us a menu. A couple walked in after us and they got their food before we even ordered. When she gave us our coffee and menu, we said thank you. She did not say you’re welcome. This is nothing at all but it’s just the first time that someone had did this to us. Which was weird. I ordered the home style breakfast which included eggs, bacon, home fries, and chipped beef just to find out they don’t have chipped beef. When I asked to replace it with more bacon, she said no. At that moment I was done. I did not want anything at that point and the waiter pushed me to get something. So I just got eggs with biscuit. The eggs were okay but the biscuit was cold. My girlfriend ordered a waffle and it tasted very bland and wasn’t good at all. I finished my food and went on my way. WORSTEXPERIENCE I HADIN A DINERANDWORSTSERVICE I HAD.

In March, it will be a year since we have been going to this diner. And by that I mean, practically EVERY week since then. We’ve tried their sandwiches, breakfast platters(the BEST) and even been there late enough to consider our meal ‘dinner’. As I said in my previous review, it’s nothing fancy. But it’s good eats. And the kitchen has never taken more than 9 minutes to prepare our order, sometimes even less. Seriously, try the huge breakfast platter(see my pics). You can thank me later.

Didn’t expect to find the best burger in a long time in this modest establishment, but there it was – large, made fresh and delicious. Oh, and at about half the price(at least) of the gourmet chains, with every bit as much quality. The Tastee Diner is a bit of Old Maryland… regulars sit at the counter and shoot the breeze with waitresses who seem to have known them for decades. My waitress was very friendly and a real pro. Love this place!

We have been regulars going on 10+ years now. This is a diner in the truest sense of the word. Do not expect a modern interpretation of a diner– this is the real thing. The diner has been there for longer than I have been alive. The tables and chairs show this character, but does distract from a good time and a good meal. Staff is always great. It can get crazy hectic at times so keep that in mind, it may take a few minutes to order. We always sit in patty’s section and she always treats us well. Though no matter who serves us we always get treated right! I’ve never been unhappy with a meal! I think fried chicken day is Tuesday and I can not recommend that enough– it is AMAZING fried chicken!!! Also ask for a turkey sandwich with beef gravy(so good). Pancakes, bacon, and home fires are one of our ordering staples for a reason– the pancakes are really good. I could tell you about everything I’ve ever had there– but that would turn into a book. Point is the food is good! When we have visitors from other countries who want to experience a diner– this is where we take them! When have friends visiting us in general this is where we go. It is open 24 hours too. Real diners are disappearing, this place is a piece of history and hopefully will be there serving me pancakes, sandwiches, and chicken for a long time to come.

I have gone here a few times and I believe the food has been really good but very greasy. That lady time I went there the waitress seemed very uninterested in serving us. I did feel that she has something g personal going on that is why she was a little cranky buy your customers should never feel your annoyance with your personal situation. I had tried to come back and pick up a to go order and again a different woman on the cash register didn’t even acknowledge me even though she was standing right there when I walked in. She was very uninterested in helping me. I think the food is pretty good but if I never go to this restaurant again I would not be hurt by. Service with a smile would be kind of nice.

I’m from NYC, and came down to MD to visit some family. After leaving an event around 9:30PM we decided to come down to this diner since my cousin said the food was great. We were a party of 4 and all ordered burgers. I personally ordered the tastee burger, the waiter sold me on that one once he said he was basically like the BigMac. I was extremely disappointed with 1) the size of the burger. I literally ate it in 3 bites. 2) Really? It literally consisted of the burger patty, cheese, ice burg lettuce, and thousand island dressing. The only thing decent about my meal were the fries. It came out hot and crispy which is exactly how I like it. Now, I’m not saying the burger was bad. I’m just saying it was disappointing and I definitely had a lot better. Guess I’ve been spoiled with the diners back in NYC. Bottom line, I wouldn’t recommend. But it is decent food for a decent diner.

We stopped here after visiting Laurel Race Course. If we had a Tastee Diner in KY I’d be there every day and weigh 400 pounds. The Turkey and dressing were fantastic!

The Tastee Diner is the ideal diner. If you go there expecting haute cuisine, then you are very silly and also unlikely to be satisfied. But if you want good eggs and home fries and a malted waffle and buckets of totally reasonable diner coffee(no soy mocha half-caf frappucinos here) and friendly staff to smile and share a joke while you do your Saturday morning crossword puzzle… this is totally the best place I have found for that in Laurel.

Great place whenever we get some snow! Always open and their food is very consistent. But, it is a diner! And, they serve diner food. So, 4 stars for always being there when needed.

Service: we were there from 9:10 — 9:40a on a slow Saturday morning. There was one other party eating when we got there. It was quick(food was on the table in abt 7 min) and below average(never found out our server’s name. She wasn’t rude, just not friendly. She was attentive but not a nag. Slim, older blonde with plenty of makeup.) The older brunette that sat us barely did that, she really directed us where to go and came back with menus. She never greeted us. She also took our payment and never said«thank you», «come again», or «have a nice day». She was a bit too aloof for her job choice. She was the rudest to us, but I saw her talking to others in a more friendly way. We were greeted by a younger, slightly heavier blonde who was the only one that smiled. She said«hello» and«goodbye». Prices: low, 2 adult meals, 1 kid’s meal, and 3 drinks for $ 22.53 Portions: decent and filling Taste: good. I had eggs over medium(perfectly done) with turkey sausage(a good kick). My wife said her pancakes(short stack) were«tasty and filling, but heavy» and my son loves anytime he’s allowed to get chocolate chip pancakes so he was pleased. My decaf coffee wasn’t good. Overall, it was a decent FOOD experience, they’re lacking on service. Solely based upon the service, we won’t be back.

I enjoyed a bacon cheese omelet with rye toast and homefries, the bf had a Western type omelet and we also shared their special, a strawberry malted waffle. The prices are reasonable and the diner vibe is cool and authentic. I see others have complained about the service, but our waitress was perfect. Someone too bubbly before I’ve had my coffee is honestly off-putting to me. Our food was quick, delicious and exactly what we ordered. I love that Unilocal helps me find these cool local establishments when I’m traveling.

We love the food at the Tastee Diner and the fact that it is a 24-hour joint for nightowls like ourselves. The owner is also a very friendly dude. However, I can only give it three stars because the service is terrible if you’re not a regular. The servers are VERYVERY friendly and attentive to their regulars. I understand that– I’ve been a server too. BUT, if you’re not a regular they’re not friendly at all(downright rude at times) and basically ignore you once they take your order(I had to ask the owner twice for a drink refill)…which means I will NEVER become a regular. If the servers were equally friendly to everyone, this would be a 5 star diner.

Blueberry pie a la mode was to die for. BLT was OK. Atmosphere was GREAT – a truly authentic dive. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.

This place is fine. It’s a legitimate diner. In other words, it’s what you’d expect from a real diner. It has a long counter, chrome, booths, and the typical grub. The place was not spotless, but it wasn’t dirty, either. I had blueberry pancakes, hash browns, and coffee(just under $ 9 pre-tip). The pancakes and coffee were OK. The potatoes, like most places, were not as well-done as I’d like. A lady in the booth next to me actually sent hers back to have them cooked more. I’ll probably be back at some point. Ok. I’ve been back. This still applies including that they don’t cook the potatoes enough. I even ordered them crispy to no avail.

Now HERE is a championship Sh! thole. It was late, and we were from out of town. Miles between our starting point and our hotels. The guide books warn that a wrong turn can put you in a dangerous neighborhood in Baltimore, but our GPS had set us off in search of an Applebees. Out of the corner of my eye, I spied the Tastee. It was so unilluminated, I would have missed it. I told my pals«I think we found our Dinner» A real-deal, old skool«Diner». Dark of atmosphere, local denizens sitting in various parts, unaware of anything going on around them. The hygiene seems dodgy, and the staff was, well, exactly what Central Casting would have sent this place if it was a Hollywood set. I knew that this place was going to be great. And it was. Pal #1 had breakfast-Corned Beef Hash and Poached Eggiwegs, Pal #2 had some kind of Chicken Sandwich. I had a Double Burger and Onion rings. Everything was home-made and very very good. The waiter/cook/majordomo suggested Pie for dessert, and Pie it was with Coffee. Good Pie, Good Coffee. The Bill was breathtakingly frugal-even better. You’ve seen places like this on TV and in Films. Usually nothing good happens in and around these night-time beacons, and I can’t even imagine what this place might be like during the day. It’s made for the night-and late night at that. We don’t have places exactly like this in Chicago-we have Greek Coffee Shops, which are Sui Generis for the Windy City. The East Coast has Railroad-Car Diners. This was a beaut! And oh yeah-they had old skool Juke Box controls at each booth… And you can order Booze from the adjacent Bar. Cheers!

Talk about a good hole in the wall. This is the place. You might feel like you are walking in to an old 70’s dinner, because you are, but don’t let the looks and the 70’s atmosphere fool you. The servers are ginuinely nice and the swift with taking and getting you your order. I ordered the pancake 3 stack with bacon, eggs(w/jalepano, cheese, and onion), and an orange juice. When I say it hit the spot, trust me, it did. I have never had bad service nor bad food since I first started coming back in 2010. I

Admittedly, I have only been here during hours where no other place is open. The coffee isn’t the best I’ve had, certainly, but it’s fresh at two in the morning. I’ve been pleased with how cheerful the staff are, and they don’t press you to hustle along even if no one else is around. The other night our waitress brought us out two pieces of pie with ice cream because someone had cut the apple pie unevenly. She didn’t want to be unfair, and we got it a la mode. It was an extra mile thing, and that was great. For a diner that’s open whenever, it’s exactly what you’d expect.
