#1) This place is what you want in an inexpensive place to eat diner food. The burgers are on point; for $ 6 you can get a burger and fries. Their speciality burgers are also awesome, try them. My friends especially liked the breakfast burger. I had the Burger stuffed with ham, turkey, and bacon. It was real tasty. #2) It seems there is only one waitress working here, but she does a good job and works hard. She also works hard to be friendly with you and tries to learn your name. Tip her well. That’s all for now!

It’s a very nice diner located in Laurel. They have remodeled and the interior looks much nicer than it did before. They used to have the typical old dinner booths but now they have tables. They painted, added and outdoor patio and extended the bar. The food is tasty and Inexpensive. The waitresses are very friendly as well. Good place to go as a family.

Multiple times we’ve gone to Tubbys and recieved horrible service which is unfortunate since the owner is obviously trying to make the place better. Today we wound up leaving after at least ten minutes of waiting for someone to even acknowledge our existence while we sat at our table. There were four waitresses and it wasn’t exceptionally busy. A couple of them came to tables all around us but no one said a word to us. We could hear waitresses complaining about a party of 30 showing yesterday. Shouldn’t that make a waitress in a small dinner happy? When we left we saw two of the waitresses outside on break. They saw us as we left and they knew we had not been waited on but didn’t care.

I came on Palm Sunday with my friend. The place wasn’t too busy, but our waitress was responsible for many tables. I can tell this diner doubles as a sports bar in the evenings. Also, being in PG county, it is attached to a liquor store. I had a short stack(two pancakes) and two eggs for $ 4.95. I don’t think IHOP can beat that price! The pancakes were very good, but my friend’s were noticeably larger than mine. My eggs over medium were over cooked, but probably my fault, as I thought over easy would have them coming out with runny whites. Oh well! My friend had scrambled eggs and scrapple with her pancakes. It’s a bit far for me to come for breakfast, even at these prices. Just a bit further down 198 is the Amish Market, and those egg and cheese filled hot pretzels are calling my name.

I stop in here for grab and go beer and liquor. Yep, I just drive up to this roadside place, jump out and get what I want. There’s a dining/bar area that seems very active with a bunch of regulars, but I just am looking for beer, wine and liquor of which there a decent selection. Being right off 198, it’s convenient and that works for me. A-OK.

Found this place in the way down to Washington D.C. great breakfast. Reasonable prices. Good service. It’s 5 minutes of 95. Will definitely go back. Hot Italian sausage and eggs was great.

After literally years of driving by this place, I finally decided to go in for breakfast with my 3 year old daughter. I don’t know what it was that dissuaded me from going in all of these years, but it’s probably the combination of choppers and pickup trucks that are always filling the parking lot. That gives the impression that Tubby’s isn’t a safe or inviting place. Nothing could be further from the truth. The interior looks a lot more modern than you’d probably expect, and I think it was likely renovated recently. The waitresses aren’t overly friendly, and I had to seat myself and wait for someone to realize there was a new party. The dining area is moderately sized and the décor is clean and homey. There are regular tables and chairs, so it’s not configured like a typical diner. The morning we went there were mostly senior citizens and a few other families with small children, which was a welcome sign. I’m sure the customer base is radically different other days/times. As for the menu, it’s expansive as you might imagine for a dinner. There are plenty of choices to sort through, and no waffles(!!!) but my daughter loved the silver dollar sized pancakes and bacon. I had the gyro which was a little disappointing(too much sauce, undercooked meat) on one visit and the corned beef hash(very good) the next time. Service is prompt(if not necessarily friendly) and the prices can’t be beat. Don’t be fooled by appearances. Just stop by already. It’s a favorite«Daddy Daughter Breakfast Date» spot and my daughter and I look forward to going back soon.

This little place is located in kind of an odd place. It’s on the side of the road near nothing. The nice part of that is they have their own parking lot and it is plentiful. Tubby’s has a dinning room area and a bar area and even a place that is liquor store like where you can purchase alcohol to go. But it is all connected and under 1 roof which is interesting. The staff here is super friendly, very informative and very attentive. I never had an empty glass which in my opinion is the sign of good wait staff. I ordered the crab pretzel that my waitress recommended which I was told is a new item as it was not on the menu. It took a little while to come but I was told it is because they make each pretzel to order. And I could tell! The pretzel was delicious. The crab dip on top was pretty good. A decent amount of crab dip with cheese on top. My only critique would be it was a little on the looser side. I love a thick crab dip. But it was great and I ate the whole thing. It was hard to eat it all because it HUGE but was so good I couldn’t stop! It was also nicely priced and one of the better crab pretzels I’ve had. The dinner is much more spacious then it seems from the outside, but very simply decorating. It has a mom and pop feel but I like it.

I’ve been dining at Tubby’s for close to 10 years now, mostly for breakfast. Being a fan of retro décor, I quite liked the 60’s diner vibe with the blue sparkle chairs and chrome-edged tables. I saw that they had been doing some renovations and on a whim brought the family in for an early dinner one night. Wow! Major décor renovation. I guess most would call it an upgrade; it sure looks contemporary, but I will miss the retro décor. The staff and ownership are clearly proud of their new work environs and it shows in the service. While we’ve always given them high marks for service, the staff seemed to have a new air of pride. Since this was the latest in the day we had ever dined there, I decided to order a lunch item — the Greek Cheeseburger. Very tasty, hearty and filling too! Good quality beef patty and just enough feta. The only thing I’m not crazy about is that now the bar extends into the dining area whereas previously it was clearly part of another room, albeit an open floor plan. I hope that if we ever decide to have a proper dinner time meal there, that we won’t have to deal with loud, rowdy drinkers. Afterall, it is a family restaurant. Keep up the good work, Tubby’s!

Kudos to Tubby’s for the update! The place looks great inside. For those that haven’t been in a while, it’s now got new flooring, all new tables, paint, etc. It looks like a totally different restaurant. The food is still great, as well as the service.

Used to like this place for its ‘50s feeling, vinyl chairs and old style diner atmosphere. Problem is cleanliness. Stopped there for lunch: getting in, aggressive cooking oil smell in the hallway, tables were not clean(had to ask for somebody to take care of it), service was friendly but distracted, food was nothing special until time came to digest it, when it proved to be a chore. Get your act together guys! This place has potential. It’s just heading the wrong way right now.

People really rated this joint 5-Stars?! You gotta be kidding me! Man I’ve been to a few dives but this ladies and gents is not dive worthy! It was dirty and messy everywhere. We sat ourselves and had to get our own cutlery. The table was gritty, sticky, and questionably clean. The waiter/server was polite but was inattentive, he’d drop things off at the table and quickly disappear. I asked for ginger ale which was noticeably clear and tasted like seltzer but he disappeared to quickly for me to request another beverage. We practically had to go into the kitchen to get service. Basic menu, no real«Wow» factor or dishes that set Tubby’s apart. I ordered a side of bacon which came crumbled into about 16 pieces instead of strips. The home fries were not made from scratch, just frozen fried potato cubes. The food was nothing to write home about but palatable and relatively inexpensive. The two meals came to about $ 22 after tax. the bar was connected and you could smell it and at any moment I was waiting for Jax Teller and his pals to come on by. Unless I had no other choice I would not repeat.

They are only getting three stars for the food and beer prices, the bar experience was not good. The draft beer prices are very reasonable, on monday you van only ordered fried food. Hence why stale, fry oil greets you at the door, when you walk in. They do have homemade potato skins, loaded with strips of bacon and cheddar cheese. However, when I eat inside I prefer not to have ants crawling on me. I could understand one stray ant but several, I paid up quick to get out.

Good food, especially for breakfast. Small town mom and pop atmosphere. Restaurant attaches to bar which attaches to liquor store. Regular staff, great prices. Can’t complain!

I don’t know what it is about this place but it just doesn’t meet my expectations. It’s like everything is average I’ve never had anything really good or really bad. I’m not feeling the eggs and the pancakes seem under cooked almost. I’m going to the college park diner next week

I love this place. Since moving here finding a decent greasy spoon has been hell — hell I tell you! And now I found it… in Burtonsville. I guess I should have expected that I would have venture deep into dark nether regions of the state to find it. There’s this certain flavor you can only get while sitting on vinyl chairs and eating off linoleum topped tables. I’m guessing it has more to do with the whole«not cleaning your griddle for 50 years» thing and less to do with the vinyl, but I’m not one to judge. Just the fact that biscuits and gravy is not only something staff makes, but it’s even displayed prominently on the menu made my heart jump. It’s the best I’ve found in MD so far! The coffee even had that just-the-right-amount-of-burnt you can only get from a truly good diner. This is now my go-to greasy spoon for instant and guaranteed hangover food.

This place’s not that hard to spot since it’s the only restaurant for miles lol. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere. The diner’s connected to the bar & liquor store, how convenient lol… Tubby’s just average diner in my opinion. However, it is extremely affordable and the portions’re good. You can get a burger with chips for anywhere from $ 4.75 — $ 7sh. Their wings aren’t bad either; 10 of them go for $ 6. Their Chicken Curry($ 13) is quite good. It can be spicy for some people, but I think the chilli gives the dish some kick. Overall, it is a decent diner with cheap price & good portion. The workers’re friendly & would be more than willing to explain the food in the menu. The bar’s pretty small, I don’t think it’s a good idea if you have quite a bit of people with you. If you ever wanna get cheap & decent food, Tubby’s is the place to go.
