One of my new favorite places on the beach /in the Lavallette area. Fantastic freshly prepared seafood dishes. I love the Hawaiian flair in the food — classics like the Poké with Dragonfruit and home made chips were amazing and fresh! Definitely recommend trying that dish.

This is our 4th time here. Always great. The special tonight was pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and stuffed. Amazing. The Day boat scallops with risotto is a don’t miss!

On a Saturday night with four people we tried this place for the first time. It is a BYO, which is an advantage at times but changes the atmosphere of a restaurant. A fairly small dining room with not a whole lot of style but their food makes up for it. We had the calamari, pork belly and two different salads for apps. All were very good. The thai curry seafood was delicious but would like to see a few less mussels. The special was a grouper that was had, along with Chilean Sea bass, and fish taco’s. All delicious. A bit pricey but not omg. Outstanding service for such a busy evening. They also had great choices for dessert. There is a small parking lot but in the summer I would guess this is a small miracle to get a spot. There is street parking but again, plan on possibly circling a few times. They do take reservations which is also a advantage.

I thought I would give this restaurant a try during Jersey shore restaurant week, and it did not disappoint. It is a smaller place, so I would definitely recommend reservations. I had the lobster ravioli and also tried the short ribs. The food was great. The service was attentive and accommodating. I will be sure to go back.

This restaurant is so good. Outstanding, fresh food in a casual, super relaxed setting. The beauty of this restaurant, tucked away in Lava is how understated it is. You would pass it and have no idea what unique, amazing food it puts out. I love these gems on the island and I will continue to frequent them for a long time to come — and I have a feeling Ohana Grill will be around for a while.

What a great find! Can’t believe it’s been in Lavalette for several years. We dined during Jersey Shore Restaurant Week which was a wonderful deal. The food was fresh, service was fantastic and the setting was lovely. The overall dinning room is small which accounts for the decibel level being high. The Wasabi Calamari was very crispy; i prefer it less fried. I asked for the tuna to be a little more cooked than just seared & they understood perfectly, which is not always the case. We shared desserts and all were tasty including the yummy sorbet trio, spice cake and the to-die-for warm chocolate chip cookie. Highly recommended cusine with a different flair!

The food is decent, nothing special but pricy. Always crowded in the summer so you need a reservation. Not much of a selection for a non-fish eating vegetarian. The service was not very good. We waited a long time to have our order taken. No need to go back!

Very impressed with the menu even for the prix fix restaurant week. Pulled pork egg rolls, Thai chili calamari, and beet salad were great as were the Pettit filet mignon, lobster ravioli, pork short rib, and blackened mahi mahi. An undiscovered gem on the jersey shore

Don’t Delay — — GO!!! Now that summer’s over and the crowds are gone, RUN don’t walk to Ohana Grill. We took very FUSSY foodie friends from North Jersey there post-Labor Day and they were ecstatic! Our server, Don, was perfect — — knew his stuff really well, was friendly but not familiar, and his recommendations hit the mark every time. And the food was really tops. For my money there is NOBETTERPLACELOCALLYTODINE. It’s wonderful to have a creative and delicious menu available at a part of the Jersey Shore which is really more like Duh Joisey Shaw of days gone by. This place is tried and true for us at this point. We had the steak special, lobster ravioli, sea bass, Thai seafood curry, and more. Only the crab balls failed, in my opinion. Too doughy. Other than that, everything was terrific. This place is great. Hope to go again within the next two weeks.

Went here for a family dinner and wow were we impressed. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. We shared he panko/wasabi shrimp and crab cake sliders as an appetizer and were blown away. I had the onion encrusted Chilean sea bass and it was one of he best meals ever. If you are in the area it is a must try!

We have stopped going to Ohana Grill after SEVERAL bad meals. Cold food, slow service and in general poor presentation. I’ll stick to other restaurants in the area.

Went there last night with friends — first time visiting. We got the Calamari, Shrimp, Ceviche — all were fresh, really great taste, perfect. BYOB so we got to drink whatever we wanted. Service was over the top good — our waitress was awesome. Personal and Professional. Entrees — I had the Skin on Snapper over Coconut rice with Asparagus. I’ve eaten Red Snapper over 1000 times in my life — I know the fish inside and out. This was in the top 10 Red Snapper dishes I ever had. My friends got the Scallops, Portabello Mushroom Ravioloi — all were really happy and cleaned the plates. We had the cookie for dessert — all left happy. I might go back tonight just because its the best place in Lavalette that doesn’t serve you shitty fried frozen fish. I love Ohana — you will too. Take the ladies, bring the bros — everyone will smile.

The service was great really fast with orders. Waitresses were kind and attentive. Ten of us were seated immediately. For appetizer we had the fried calamari which was excellent and crisp. For dinner I ordered the pomegranate teriyaki chicken which was okay, I anticipated it would taste more like pomegranate but it was just like any other chicken teriyaki. Besides that being average, Ohana was a nice place and I would definitely come back for the great service!

This place was a mixed bag, not sure why it is so well regarded so while I didn’t think it deserved 4 – 5 stars, it wasn’t bad. BYOB which is good. Server knocked water all over me and the table, which is bad. Ceviche was god awful but entrees were solid, mahi and salmon. Not a bad choice but not sure why it is so well regarded.

Went here for dinner the other night with my boyfriend and two friends — the only available seating was outside but it was nice! I’m not sure of our waitresses name but she had dirty blonde hair that was slicked back and pretty eyes — she was awesome! She knew all the specials off the top of her head and gave great recommendations, we all really liked her! The shrimp and lobster bisque soup was really good, the crab risotto balls were okay — wish they had a little more crab meat in them tho — I had the Thai chili salmon with veggies and coconut rice — definitely would recommend this dish! I ate the entire plate! My bf got the short rib special which he loved — all around a great BYO dinner place(just expect to spend around $ 30 a head between apps and entrée!)

Decided as we drove by to give this place a try. Its not the standard beach fare of burgers and pizza, but real good medium priced food. We decided to just try a few appys and picked the wasabi shrimp, chicken satay, crabcake sliders and calamari and the mango fried rice. All the choices came out at the same time and were cooked correctly except for the sliders that tastes undercooked a little. The winning dish was the wasabi shrimp with the panko breadcrumbs. Service was excellent as was the setting. Not beachy at all. The open kitchen added to the overall flair and flavor of the place. Go, its good and moderately priced.
