For a road side crab shack I think they hit the spot Had the lobster roll and cod sandwich. Both were very good.

They have the right idea with this place — good location, cute, casual and with a tasty focus(seafood). Unfortunately, they kind of missed the mark. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt though since they are new and hopefully still working out the kinks. First of all, some of their stuff says Crabby Dick’s and some says Crabby Rick’s. What the heck IS the name of this place? Second, they have too many options and don’t seem to do any of them well. Tighten up the menu and get really really good at the few things you DO offer. My boyfriend and I went up for lunch on Sunday and would probably give it a 2.5 out of 5. They don’t tell you that the sandwiches come with fries so we ended up ordering sides — total waste. Our lunch was $ 40… way too much for a casual meal on a picnic bench. I ordered the Crabcake sandwich and a side of grilled corn. The crabcake was good, but there was an overwhelming charred flavor. At first I thought it was the bun, but there was no char on it so they either used far too much of some liquid smoke or have a very very dirty grill(gross). The fries were tasty, but ice cold. The corn was gross and I only ate half. It was not grilled, but rather steamed and it had a ton of seasoning pooled on one side of the corn so you could not even take a bite. My boyfriend got the much-anticipated lobster roll. Big mistake. $ 17 for a lobster roll with very little lobster and the wrong type of roll. How do you not use the traditional lobster roll roll for this?! I don’t think we would even order it for $ 5. His side of cole slaw was ok, but nothing special. One guy even returned his softshell crab sandwich because the crab was not cooked on one side — that’s disgusting! Keep in mind that it was NOT crowded when we were there so that’s not a good excuse for any of the mistakes. The people who took our order were super friendly and nice — so I give them credit. The owner was there, walking around, but never asked anyone how their meal was or thanked them for coming(bad customer service for a new place). Overall, I would say to give it a try, but wait about a month and hope they correct a lot of their issues! If these guys are smart they will ask questions, read reviews and work hard to make adjustments before it’s too late. Right now it is the type of place where people will go once and never go back… which doesn’t work in a town like Normandy Beach where most people are regulars(versus a town with more renters/tourists).

I have been there three times and have only been able to eat once! The weekend before Memorial Day, the place was slammed! Richard(the owner) alerted us and said they were not taking orders for the next hour, but we could wait until they got«out of the woods». Sadly, we left. The next weekend(MDW) we went early and had DELICIOUS crab balls, overfried soft shell crab sandwiches, and mealy corn on the cob. The crab balls were so good, I was not discouraged and went back another time to get the spicey crab soup; they were out of it. I switched my order to the chowder, but when they told me it would be a 15 – 20 minute wait for a cup of soup to go, I left. This place is not easy to deal with! I am trying to give them business, but … The food is quite expensive for sure, but based on those crab balls, I will give it another try… if only they would take my order!

Tried grilled shrimp and crab Mac and cheese, which was good. Great casual beach spot with outdoor seating and friendly service. We’ll be going back.

I was so excited to try this place, but that was over quick. I ordered their fried lobster on a stick thinking it sounded interesting. It wasn’t good at all. For 13.95 you got three little pieces of lobster that were way over fried. The lobster roll wasn’t bad but the portion you got for 16.95 was a joke. Stay away from the crab mac and cheese as it is insanely dry and unpalatable. The only really good thing was their crab cake sandwich. I must add that the people working there were very friendly and upbeat but that doesn’t make up for the flavor and prices. Overall, the food was mediocre at best with an outlandish price point.
