Over rated and very expensive! There is always a crowd and long wait for sandwiches! The sandwiches at Joe Leones are much better & cost less — if not, go to WaWa!

This place is a great store. Prepared food looks great and tastes good. Sandwiches are reasonably priced by beach standards. The real find is the butcher. If you are willing to pay butcher prices, this place has GREAT cuts. While the skirt is pricey at 15/lb, it is the best I have ever had. The marinade option is great also. Parking is tough but they have most staples at fair prices. Expect a wait at lunch time, but it is worth it.

Don’t bother with take out here unless you like to wait 45 mins for your order & then be ignored & verbally abused when you try to get someone to actually help you from the pick up area. I have been regularly giving this place my business for 5 summers & after the treatment I received today I WILLNEVERSETFOOTINTHISPLACEAGAIN.

Picked up two sandwiches before going to a concert. Turkey and cole slaw and chicken cutlet with mozzarella. In the show case they display Boars Head Oven Gold turkey. The turkey on the sandwich was a slimy low grade turkey. Couldn’t eat it. For a $ 7.50 sandwich, you expect the best meat. Especially from a Italian market. Went back the next day and spoke to the store manager. A guy in his early 40’s. Showed him the sandwich and became very defensive. When I told him I expected Boars Head he stated it was Boars Head. I said it wasn’t Oven Gold and he stated Boars Head has several grades of turkey and he sells tons of this slimy turkey. So you put crappy turkey on sandwiches and pawn it off as Oven Gold. Things didn’t get any better. I live in North Jersey and if an Italian Deli tried doing what they do, they wouldn’t last a week. I guess he didn’t like it when I said I expect this type of sandwich from WaWa. I did get my money back but only after I was banned from the store and the lady at the counter said that if I didn’t stop complaining that she wouldn’t give me my money. No problem. P. S the chicken cutlet sandwich wasn’t much better. Do your self a favor and go elsewhere. Better places out there.

Sandwiches are great and reasonable. Deli salads are good looking, but the taste doesn’t match the looks. Sort of like a hot girl with no brain. Salads are very overpriced. Stay away from the good looking angel hair and feta, looks good but full of garlic and oil, no good. Convenient and overpriced.

Just took out sandwiches. Got one sandwich totally wrong. One was all bread and almost no meat. The others were barely average. Very disappointing because we shop here all the time

I decided to give Lasola’s yet another go, and need to go back on my word. The staff has in fact been very kind and considerate, and the quality of the food is(and as it always was) superb.

Although a bit on the pricier side it’s well worth it! The quality of the food here is pretty on point imo. Nice family owned establishment and worth the visit every chance I get when I’m down the jersey shore. Their rice balls are a must try!

This is the stuff that Italian-American dreams are made of… specifically my dreams, and my husband’s because we think of this place longingly all year long in Seattle until we visit the Jersey Shore each summer. What’s good? EVERYTHING. The Supremo sandwich with about a pound of prosciutto on each loaf, the arancini with the perfect amount of cheese, the side salads — yes even the health salad — the chicken wings, and the cookies for dessert. This isn’t fancy, it’s comfort food and it’s awesome. Lasolas isn’t just a deli; it’s an experience, and one that everyone with an appreciation for good old-fashioned Italian food must have. I was there just last week, and now I get to dream about it for another year.

A little on the expensive side but every time i am down the shore i typically get a breakfast sandwich here and then come back later on for a nice big sub. The sandwiches are huge so i guess the price kind of explains itself, plus there arent many places in the lavalette/ortley area that have quality food and meat so i guess they can bump up everything a few dollars. they also have some pretty fresh meats to cook up or grill for dinner or bbq If youre in the mood, the fresh baked crumb cake early in the morning is amazing

I visit Normandy Beach about six times per year and each time I cross the bridge I start to salivate thinking about what I’m going to grab at Lasolas. Sure, ordering can be a pain, and the staff can sometimes be a bit short with you, but that’s Jersey charm right there. The food is excellent. One of the few places I can find pinwheel sausage! They also sell a marinated Turkey London Broil that is out of this world. I haven’t gotten anything from there that I didn’t find delicious whether it be from the meat case or the deli counter. You haters are crazy and I don’t think you realize how good you have it up north. Half of the items in that store do no exists south of you! I’m a customer for life.

My husband is a contractor in the area and has always complained about the inconsistencies of this place. When it’s not in season the bread is stale. When it’s summer the sandwiches are good. Today, however; was the breaking point. He was charged 50 cents for a small souflee cup of Russian filled a quarter of the way up. Are you kidding? and this was only because they never put enough on. This place has always been overpriced but nickel and diming it’s local repeat customers is an all time low and no way to run a business. Over the course of the summer they were there almost every day during the week. If this is the way they want to do business he will go to wawa instead and spend half the money. LOCALSBEWARE!

Pretty good meat department. Don’t care for the sandwiches or pizza. The people behind the deli counter are extremely rude. The checkout girls are friendly though. Id rather drive off the island and be treated like an appreciated customer.

Best meat department on the Island. Get the NY strip steaks and the marinated chicken breasts. This is the place to go to if you’re planning a barbecue. The cold cuts and deli sandwiches are awesome. Staff is hot and cold — like their subs. Skip the produce and go to Big Ed’s produce near the corner of Ortley Ave and Rt 35 North in Lavalette… Much better quality, selection and value.

When I travel to the Jersey Shore, I don’t know what I look forward to more: the beach or visiting Lasolas. I could easily hit Lasolas for all 3 meals: porkroll, egg, & cheese for breakfast, pizza or sub for lunch, and then order of one of their entrees for dinner. Having spent many summers in beach towns on Cape Cod, I wasn’t expecting much from the local sandwich shop when I first went to Lasolas, but I was blown away. The quality of the product is great, from the Boars Head meats to the roast beef that they roast in store. The locally baked breads are the perfect vehicle to get the custom made sandwiches into my mouth. Lasolas has grown the past few years, but always for the better. They are truly a family owned business that is making the Shore better.

Lasolas took over Check Rite off 35N. It is much bigger than the previous spot across from the Wawa. Good selection, decent prices and a friendly staff. The FAM and I were at the Shore this summer and Lasolas was a short walk from Normandy Beach and had everything we needed for those items we ran out of at the Beach House.

I have to give Mad Props to Lasolas. For years my parents had a beach house in Chadwick Beach(where Lasolas technically was) and Johnny Lasola used to give us a discount, since we went there so often. Like, literally every day during the summer. Their sandwiches were the BOMBDIGGITY. Fo realzies. However, Johnny was super moody, and I could totally understand how people could be unhappy with the service. Alas, this place is now CLOSED! The owners moved all of their operations to the Check Rite about a quarter mile down the road. So SAD! RIP Lasolas.
