Astro’s is a funny little pool room with plenty of tables. My boyfriend and I absolutely love coming here. The billiards are cheap and the drink specials are incredibly good on any day. It’s a little dive-​y, but I frankly love that kind of thing. The bartenders are quick and friendly, and there are always open tables to play pool.
I don’t make a lot of money and find tons of value in this place; no matter how down on my luck I may be, I can always afford a little distraction by taking myself to Astros and catching a cool buzz and knocking around a couple of cue balls.
The most hilarious thing about this place, though, is definitely the music. It will jump genres wildly, one minute, you’re screaming about how you Don’t Stop Believing, the next, you cry into a beer over Lady Antebellum.

I’ve been to Astro’s on several occasions (one was a first date actually), mainly to play pool. They have a large number of tables, so it’s never an issue finding an open one. Each game costs a mere 50 cents.
Bud Light pitchers run cheap, about $ 5.25. There’s also a patio outside for smokers. Astros plays a variety of music from rock to hiphop, mirroring the different types of people that enter. Though there’s never been a wait, the only downside might be the small bathrooms.
The place begins to check IDs towards the evening, so if you’re under 21, you’re out of luck. But overall, Astros is a good place to hang out with friends for cheap and even go for a no-​pressure-​added date (even if you’re not a pool hall junkie).
