This place looks old on the outside, but don’t let that fool you. Their donuts are delicious! Get there early to try out the blueberry donuts as they run out pretty quickly! They also have pigs in a blanket which are tasty as well! The donuts are soft and made fresh daily! They remind me of the Krispy Kreme donuts when the hot fresh sign is on. Yes they are that good.

Okay everyone — let’s review the Unilocal rating structure. 5 stars is «as good as it gets» 2 stars is «I’ve had better» With that in mind — I’ve most certainly had better. There is absolutely nothing that makes me feel the donuts at the Donut Palace are any better than what you would find at Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. In fact, the argument could be made that Krispy’s could be better as they go through more batches and you have a good chance of getting donuts that have been cooked more recently. So Donut Palace — little hole in the wall next to a gas station. Even my four year old commented as he got out of the car«Daddy? This is the donut shop? It doesn’t look like much.» The food? Exactly the same as I’ve ever gotten at a chain donut. Glazed, sprinkles, powdered, filled. The only reason I’d go back would be if it was marginally closer than a chain store.

The best donuts ever! Great service. Just wish he stayed open longer. Hours are 5a-1230 or until he sells out, which is often.

Great little neighborhood alternative to Krispy Kreme or Dunkin’ Donuts!!! I’m a fan of the plain glazed, while wifey loves the Boston Cream and the kids really enjoy the pigs in a blanket. Not a very big shop and not much variety, but a solid place for good donuts. This is not an ‘OMG I have to drive an hour to have these’ sort of place, but if you’re in the area… check em out! 1÷26÷2014UPDATE — Updating my rating. They truly make very good old fashion donuts! If you want the glitz and glam stuff, this isn’t the place for you. But if you love traditional donuts, soft and just the right amount of glazing, come here! Good pig in a blanket too.
