So this last weekend I went with my boyfriend to Leavenworth for the weekend. We spent the whole day in Leavenworth checking out all the local shops and the Bavarian Festival. We walked by this place several times, eyeing the pastries and pretzels. but we kept saying«we’d be back» before we left. So, before we left back to PDX, we went snowshoeing just past Leavenworth and had made a special trip back here just to perhaps get a fresh warm pretzel. It was snowing heavily and still a lot of traffic but the pretzel sounded so good after snowshoeing. we couldn’t pass it up. So, we went back and I hurriedly walked in to get a couple of pretzels. I didn’t notice the sign posted on the pastries display window«CASH only, no credit cards»…so after finally making it back there on our way out of town, to have no cash and to go in there and be told that I couldn’t use a credit card was very very frustrating. They charge $ 5.50 for pretzel that didn’t seem at all fresh to us, was cold, and not all what we had in mind. The ATM charges a $ 3 service fee, So really. the price per pretzel was $ 7 plus the hassle. Poor lady there, she’s in the middle, has to tell people this all day… when the owner should be doing this in my humble opinion. Why in the world would a very busy tourist pretzel place not take credit cards? You definitely have the business… it isn’t like much in there is less than $ 5. This doesn’t make sense to me. We were very frustrated and the unhappy with the quality of the pretzel and it was not worth the effort in the end. I wish we would have gone somewhere else. We were very disappointed and so beware anyone else who ends up with a bad cold pretzel…

Was really hoping for some yummy baked goods to top off a great trip to Leavenworth but I wasn’t too impressed. Ordered a plain pretzel and apple turner — while both were decent what really would have made it 5-stars amazing if it was served warm!

Baked daily, but you will have to take their word on it. The pretzel is served nice and cold with hard cheese dip. Boo! And they won’t even warm it up if you ask. I was hoping for a fresh, warm, soft pretzel. Majorly disappointed. Head up a few blocks to Munchen Haus and get a delicious warm one w/cheese and all the mustard flavors you can imagine.

Ah, sweet pretzel Christmas tree. You are a great feature on the main street of Leavenworth, and the perfect lure for those desiring a good snack to help keep away the cold. Pros: — fresh and delicious pastries and pretzels — fast service — good prices($ 8+ for a giant pretzel with cheese, and a strudel) Cons: — cash only — pretzels are not warm, despite coming straight out from the kitchen as I ordered — huge lines — nowhere to sit Then again, is being too popular something we should hold against Konditorei? Let’s just say: give yourself an extra few minutes and you’ll enjoy a pretty nice pretzel experience.
