Went there on a Sunday morning around 9:30 and enjoyed a butter brezel, almond spread pastry and coffee. It was so good and absolutely comparable to a bakery in germany, if not better. We got samples of raisin bread and whole wheat bread as well which made us buy the delicious whole wheat bread. While sitting there and enjoying our food, we could watch the owner and his crew preparing more delicious pastry. We also had a nice talk with the owner, who is a german. He helped me figure out how to bake bread since it never worked with American ingredients(big difference to germany). We will go back this afternoon for torte and maybe some more partries.

We discovered this little gem on a recent first trip to Leavenworth and wanted to experience authentic food– all weekend. This bakery did NOT disappoint. Wonderful service and we met the German baker who takes a ton of pride in his work– delighting in telling us the differences in breads, pastries and general deliciousness. I would say if you are a foodie and appreciate amazing culinary skills– go here. You won’t be disappointed.

If you want to sample«real» German pastries and breads, then do make time to stop here. Baked by a Master Baker from Germany, this as close as you will get to a taste of Germany without actually going there. To me it is a toss-up between the out of this world apple strudel or the fresh baked macaroons. Or if you want a real treat, buy a loaf of fresh baked beer bread(only available on Fridays), pick up some cold cuts, cheese, and a nice Riesling from the Safeway down the street and enjoy a picnic in the park downtown Leavenworth.

Got a pretzel here. Pretty big with a decent mustard with a horse raddish kick. Wish I would’ve tried the other pastries. Wasn’t anything special. Not bad overall. If you just want your pretzel kick to go with the atmosphere, not a bad place. Would like to try other baked goodies next time.

No credit cards. Blackett Forrest good. Common roll. Mascoponcake great. Cut but not fancy I would have given them 4.5 stars but first there is no ½ star and so that brings it to 4. Next they do not take credit cards. Really — a tourist town that wants checks(there has got to be a larger overall cost to travelers paying by check) or cash. Fortunately we had enough cash so we stayed. The Black Forest cake was good(4 out of 5 stars) as was the Marzipan. The atmosphere is not that great but good enough to sit and have your snack. We also enjoyed the Cinnamon roll. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful and I would definitely consider coming back — if we have the cash. Overall — compared to the other bakery in town — this is a 14 out of 15 stars.
