Flew up to Foxwoods Resort Casino to check out their club Shrine Foxwoods to see Max Styler who is playing at our club in Orlando… We show up with a $ 900 minimum spend and were excited to come check this place out… well first the VIP area was not up to par. They put us at the«best table» that I guess also doubled as a storage unit since they had empty co2 tanks, decorations, and a ton of random items in our booth area… next we purchased 2 bottles to start and decided to make our own cocktails until we were stopped by security for touching the bottles we just paid for… next all we could hear was a broken speaker on the end of the dance floor that kept rattling(get that fixed ASAP). Cocktail server was nice but played security instead of cocktail waitress since I guess we were having too much fun for the 100 total people that were there… next they sold us a bottle at 1240am yet didn’t mention all liquor gets picked up at 1245am so we had the bottle for a whopping 4 minutes and still were charged full price… the managers response was we should know the laws of the state we are in! He was absolutely no help… finally the place setup and layout is not good at all. Don’t waste your time

No way! Every time someone mentions this place they associate it with being so crowded, too packed and drama. Me personally I like to check places out myself because I rather check it out myself, but yup everything these people said were true. The line to get into this place is as bad as trying to get into a concert, and they don’t keep much order to this line it’s practically all over the place. Forget about once you get inside you can’t even see in front of you there’s so many people around you, you feel unsafe. It’s like where do you stand? You’re in the way no matter where you stand. Never mind try to get a drink good luck fighting the crowd. This place was severely crowded and not the good kind. This place needs better structure I was inside this place for 10 minutes and left wasn’t going to waste my time. How can you enjoy anything with people stepping all over your feet, and not even being able to see the floor at all just seeing hundreds of feet. No thank you.

HORRIBLE!!! Shrine has gone so down hill! I had an incident here where I was injured because of a fight in the club!!! There were 2 fights that night by 1230pm. I left with a bloody knee!!! And a permanent scar! Management refused to give me my money back and after contacting there corp which led to their directer contacting me this issue still hasn’t been resolved months later! Shrine security sucks Management sucks… and overall experience sucks

This review is for the nightclub only: I had a really fun time at Shrine. I had heard mixed reviews from a few people so I went in hesitant but ended up having such a good time. The dj played mostly EDM with some hip hop scattered here and there. Coming from someone who listens mostly to EDM, I was very pleased with the music that was played, and the hip hop did not even bother me like it usually does. The main dance floor does tend to get pretty crowded & hot, but the rest of the club has plenty of space. I was a huge fan on the«outdoor» area that you could smoke & hang out in. It was much cooler out there and my friend and I definitely started our own dance party. The complaint I do have is the line process. My friends and I were getting in for ‘reduced cover’ on a guest list– when we went in the main line and spoke with the woman taking the cover charges we were told we had to get in another line to check in with someone to make sure we were on the guest list. Mind you– we got right in regardless, but it seems a little silly to me that the woman collecting cover can’t just confirm herself that we are on the list. Drink prices are average for a club– to be expected at Foxwoods so you can’t really get away with complaining there.

Good place to enjoy some Asian food. We thought we ordered a meal, but then realized that we did not. Manager over heard we were asking about a meal, Lindsey the manager got all over it, rushed our order and brought us a free drink. She did not have to, amazing how she went about it and how fast she handled it. Both Jackie our server and Lindsey were truly amazing. Nice job. We drive from Providence every now and then just to eat here. Love it. Well done. Great service culture.

I went to the Red Lantern(the upstairs restaurant) and Shrine(the bar/club downstairs) for a bachelorette party last weekend. We were there on a Saturday night. The restaurant was ok but pricey, this review is solely for the nightclub. Price — Holy crud, really? A $ 20 cover for everyone wanting to enter the club after 10pm? This after the party I was with paid well over $ 500 upstairs in the restaurant. You’d think that they’d have a similar policy to other clubs I’ve been to that if you were there for dinner, you get to stay for the dancing… Definitely an overpriced cover charge for what is a run-of-the-mill dance club. Additionally, the drinks were overpriced for the size and potency. I am, however, ok with their strict rules about serving drinks. It helps prevent over-serving already obnoxious and inebriated people(I will elaborate). Music — I’m no stranger to clubs and EDM concerts, so the music suited me just fine. The DJ seemed to really like mixing tracks up, though. When you caught hints of really popular songs, you’d have just enough time to get excited about hearing the best part before it was mixed with something else. At times this made it a bit awkward to dance to. Atmosphere — I did like the lighting set-up and the cool effects this place has over the very tiny dance floor. Unfortunately, the dancing area is extremely small. Most of this place is VIP-only tables and booths. Imagine if you will dancing in the isles of a chain restaurant(let’s say TGIFriday’s), with a small dance floor the size of the entryway of said restaurant. That’s about what you have going on for space and layout. For women — Despite this place having one staff member for about every 5 – 10 patrons or so, I was absolutely appalled at what the guys in this place could get away with. It seems staff is only concerned about the VIP areas, and the general patrons are left to fend for themselves when it comes to harassment and groping/molestation. This led to a downright predatory environment for myself and my friends. I and one other friend stopped drinking halfway through the night in order to be the people to remove overly-aggressive men from my other friends’ backsides, as their protests went unnoticed by the men and staff alike. Unfortunately some of this is commonplace in clubs, but I have never experienced aggressive advances at the level present in Shrine. Perhaps it’s this hostile atmosphere that led to there being many more men than women there. There were a bunch of bachelorette groups there, but by midnight or so they’d fled the premises(unless in the VIP area). Advice to management: Pay attention to all of your patrons, not just the VIP sections. If you put as much effort into making this an enjoyable establishment as you do maintaining the roped-off lines between us and your VIPs, you may get more women to attend. I go to a lot of clubs, and this vigilance really is common practice and quite frankly common sense.

This place was awesome! Great atmosphere, great service and even better food and drinks. I recommend everything we had: Thai calamari, ahi tuna and sticky rice, lobster Rangoon’s, and miso Chilean sea bass with coconut sticky rice. It was a great way to start a very fun night! I will be back! Side note: dress code for club is VERY strict and the female servers there are a little questionable in their attire. You would not find me at their nightclub.

I really loved this club, until my friend got kicked out because she was sending a text while on the dance floor. She couldn’t find her ID because she was rushed inside upon entry. We are all well above 21 and when she finally found her license she wasn’t allowed in because she was«intoxicated” — much like EVERYOTHERPATRON. Despite being paying customers who behaved properly and adhered to the dress code we were all kicked out even though her ID was questioned for pretty much no reason. We will take our business elsewhere next time. We made hotel reservations specifically to attend this club but our experience was traumatizing.

Don’t text on the dancefloor. They will kick you out of the club for that. I got pulled aside for standing still and texting for 1 minute, which doesn’t make any sense. The bouncer asked for my ID after I already got carded coming into the club.(Im in my late 20s) I was searching for it, and then I was escorted out of the club because I couldn’t find it in time. When I found it, they wouldn’t let me back in. All because I was texting on the dancefloor. We were also celebrating my friends’ engagement, and because of this, we couldn’t do that. The staff is absolutely rude and arrogant and I’ve never been treated with this much disrespect in my life. Shrine used to be my favorite club, and the best club in CT. When you go to a club, you want great music and great atmosphere. With miserable staff, there is no great atmosphere. I will be telling all my friends and all social medias to NEVER go here

I would definitely return here on a trip to Foxwoods. It’s not Vegas, its not even close but I think you’ll still enjoy yourself. Mix of top 40 and EDM when I was there. The crowd was pretty good, obviously there is bound to be at least 3 bachelorette parties on any given night. I really liked the outdoor patio in the back. They have a nice setup here. $ 20 to get in, pretty standard for this kind of place. They have a no in and out policy which made sense but was at the same time obnoxious if you are staying at the hotel.

My experience and review is for the restaurant ONLY. The Shrine Kitchen is fabulous! My husband and I went for a date-night dinner. We got a couple of the specialty martinis to start. Both were very refreshing and we could tell they are generous with the alcohol that is put in them, so at least you’re getting your $ 14’s worth. For appetizers, we get the beef skewers and a lobster roll. The beef was so tender; it almost melted it my mouth. SOGOOD! The lobster roll was also fabulous… generous portion of 8 rolls with huge chucks of lobster! For our main dinner, we ordered the deluxe sushi platter to try a variety of the sushi Shrine had to offer and it didn’t disappoint. There were 4 sets of 2 pieces of nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, red head roll, and two shrimp tempura hand rolls. The fish was extremely fresh and was ready when we finished our apps. It was perfect for two people who love sushi! The service was really great as well. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our water glasses full and checked several times to make sure we were good or if we needed anything. The atmosphere is very romantic, especially since the dance club/lounge hadn’t gotten busy yet. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it once in awhile!

Pleasantly surprised after reading the harsh; expected reviews of this Foxwoods sushi sanctuary. Kudos to shrine for attempting an upscale vibe with affordable prices and quality sushi. Very impressed with the knowledgable server and Tuesday night special. Liked especially that when asked the waitress under pressure surrendered to her favorite the New York roll…, and rightfully so. Yowza. Completely intrigued by the texture of the fresh and crisp cucumbers, the raw fresh sushi, and the market ready sauces accompanying the carefully prepared rolls. Really impressed by service, presentation and taste(minus the salmon roll); which was tasted and removed immediately(thank god!). We highly recommend this restaurant!

I always have fun at Shrine. Never had the food here, but the DJs on Fridays and Saturdays usually spin some great dance music and this is an awesome place to go to as a group if you’re visiting Foxwoods. A few notes that you might want to consider before heading here: 1. The cover can be pricey($ 20) for guys and girls past a certain time. 2. Beers aren’t too expensive, but mixed drinks are $ 10+ 3. They won’t let you have more than one drink at a time, so you can’t buy people drinks without them present, etc. Overall though if you’re looking for a clubby atmosphere at one of the CT casinos, Shrine is a great spot.

This is a tough restaurant to rate, but i will go with 3 stars. It could be a five if i was just rating the sushi, one of the best in CT! however my wife had the general tso’s which was bland. we had the lettuce cups as an app. ehh, again not so hot. However the duck fries and edamame was quite good. The service was excellent. loved our waitress, very nice and explained the menu exceptionally. The restaurant was freezing cold. uncomfortably so! overall a decent time. would go back for the sushi and bring a jacket.

This review is for the club side only. I really can’t think of anything positive to say about this place. Here are the cons: $ 20 cover, crazy expensive drinks(a small, weak vodka drink and beer cost about $ 20), tiny dance floor, huge(empty) VIP areas, and rude or indifferent staff. We didn’t stay long, and I wouldn’t go back.

My review covers the Asian restaurant and not the nightclub. We arrived early, about 6 because we were going to the comedy club later, and without reservations for a party of 4. They sat us right away. No problem. The hostesses all wear trendy short skirts and heels. No problem.(yes, this is a bit sexist, but I’m a guy and they clearly are part of the ambiance so let’s not put our heads in the sand.) The wait staff is attentive and prompt although it took three reminders before our server brought me a cold dry vodka martini that was actually cold(had to remind her twice). The gal maintained a positive attitude despite my increasing grumpiness. No problem. The sushi, sashimi, rolls and seaweed salad were all delicious. No problem. (We passed on the nightclub. We were hoping to go dancing, but heard from several folks that the club is packed and plays mostly techno. It’s a problem; the TV ads make it seem that there dance floor is accessible and that the music will appeal to people 40+, but that does not appear to be the case.) Based on the food and restaurant I would definitely go back.

Truthfully. i had an absolutely blast when i went. i will get to why only 3 stars. get there early early early i cannot stress this enough the line gets ridiculous we got there a lil after 11 and the line wasn’t too bad after a few bumps here and there we finally got in around 1130 and by then the line was really really long. The cover is 20 bucks which sucks and the drinks are very expensive. beers were about 8 bucks shots 10 mixed drinks 12−15ish. The price of their drinks are way over priced to say the least, I’ve never paid that in Boston. the place was obviously packed but more just on the dance floor so it was nice to leave and go to the bar and actually have room to breathe. The bartenders were really quick to serve us and really nice and polite. The DJ they had that night I really enjoy a lot i’ve seen some of the other reviews about their DJ’s but the one this night(saturday) was on point. so overall nice club, good service. just sucked to pay 20 dollars to get in then pay about half that for a drink. but if you do go just do shots all night more bang for the buck.

AMAAAZING sushi. Went on a Saturday night around 730, made reservations but really didn’t need them. The service was really good and the food was great. We had a very private table overlooking the club/bar below(although at such an early hour there was no one in the club or even the bar below). For dinner, we had the lettuce wraps and 3 rolls. Rolls were on the smaller side but all were very tasty. After we finished our 3 rolls, we ordered a fourth– by recommendation of the waitress. The tuna tempora roll she recommended was phenomenal. We considered going back here the next day is was so good. For sushi, it wasn’t overly pricy– probably one of the best deals within the MGM for the quality of food/atmosphere/service.

Shrine is a high-class Asian kitchen, lounge, and nightclub located in the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Had reservations(highly recommended) for dinner here with a group of twelve. We were promptly seated in a cozy corner booth near a window overlooking the casino below. Dimly lit with red, orange, and yellow lighting, the atmosphere settled us in for a classy night of dinner and drinks. Waitstaff was extremely attentive and efficient. Quick with answers and suggestions regarding our orders, easily explaining the rules, and putting as little restriction on our activity there as possible. Rules such as one drink at a time and explanations regarding meal size and description were very helpful. I enjoyed a Shrine Zombie drink, Steamed Edamame, and Authentic Wok Fried Rice with American Wagyu Beef for approximately $ 40. DELICIOUS! Simply the best Fried Rice I have ever tasted in my life. The combination of the flavors and sauce sent a large bowl full rushing into my stomach with no regard to satiety. I heard equally as marvelous reviews from the group. As a side note.. . with connections to the kitchen a round of delicious appetizers may be on your way, complimentary of the chef himself. We enjoyed Lobster Rangoons and a Salmon dish for free! I would love to visit the nightclub portion of this establishment on a future visit to Foxwoods. The temptation between clubbing and gambling is high!
