You must order the truffle fries here. They are out of this world good. The homemade ketchup and the creamy remoulade are also unbelievable — and they will bring you as much as you want — so don’t be shy in sopping these delicious dipping sauces with your fries/hamburger bun/finger/etc. Honestly, the truffle fries are so deliciously flavorful on their own, they really don’t need any additional dipping sauce. I also ordered the Summit burger(you better *love* bleu cheese if you order this), and the wife ordered the Caprese Burger(a goat cheese, basil and tomato concoction). They were both delicious, but what held me back from issuing a five star review was due to both of our buns being somewhat dried out. I plan on returning and trying again so my hope we just had isolated bad luck in the bun department this time around.

This was our second trip to B2Burger Boutique. The Burgers both times we have gone have been fabulous as are the sweet potato fries. I’ve had the Summit Burger and the Old School Burger and both were delish. I love the sweet potato fries, which are abundant enough to share with my husband. The home made catchup is the best as is the other sauce they bring(I think it is Roumalde) is also good. They have Mexican coke in the bottle and Pepsi products on the fountain. What I didn’t like tonight was the server, who was a bit pushy, too quick to pick up the table and too quick to want to move us out of the place. We were seated after 7 pm and were back in the vehicle to drive home at 7:55 pm. I don’t like to be rushed, especially when there is immediate seating available. I’ll go back when I want a GOOD burger and sweet potato fries and hope the server isn’t as pushy as the one we had tonight.

Look people… Truffle fries alone are enough for a 5-star experience. And then there is a Summit Burger. Looks meh on the menu… and then proceeds to kick the living sh@t out of your taste buds. And the B-Mac. You have got to be KIDDING me! B2 is missing the excellent Mahi Mahi sandwich that Blanc has… but man oh man are the tastes great here. Service was a little cold for todays visit, but we were in and out in 55 minutes. And I have to lay down the law on Rhonda’s sighting in the joint… I did not see anyone with sunglasses on in there… thankfully. Only two kinds of people wear sunglasses inside… blind people and a@@holes. That is the law. Learn it… know it… LIVE it. :)

We were working late at the office, which happens to be in the only part of Kansas City not close to any restaurants. I’m not sure how this happened, but I really don’t approve. b:2 is not exactly around the corner, but it’s close enough that we could order a huge takeout order and send someone to pick it up. Before making my choice of burger, I consulted Unilocal and was compelled to go with the caprese burger. The truffle fries were a given. The burger was fantastic. FANTASTIC. Goat cheese should come on every burger. The basil added complexity and the foccacia was excellent. You know a burger is good if it’s still delicious even when lukewarm after a 20 minute car ride back to the office.

What b:2 may have going for them in quality, they lack in quantity. I ordered the Caprese burger for $ 9 with a side of sweet potato fries for $ 1 more. My dad ordered the Old School burger for $ 7 with a side of regular fries for $ 1 more. If I order a burger for $ 9, I highly expect that burger to sing, or to dance, or to at least fill me up! The burger was small and the bun fell apart in the middle of my burger munching. My dad enjoyed his Old School burger, but said he fries tasted slightly burnt. My biggest problem was the my food came on a tray with a burger, a pickle, and a tiny handful of fries. There was a gigantic amount of space left on my tray that could have been filled with fries! There were’nt nearly enough fries. Our waitress, Vanessa, was nice enough. The interior was very simple and mundane. They needed pictures, or a color besides gray and blue, or plants, or something to make b:2 seem less like a factory. The floors are concrete and the ceiling is high so sound bounces off of everything, making the volume level very loud. Overall, a decent burger, but I left hungry and felt like a paid way too much for the low quantity I received.

My husband and I ate at B2 for lunch today and walked away with completely opposite views of the place. We have been to Blanc before and both loved it, so we figured we would love B2 as well. We started with the fried house made pickles. They were good and the chipotle ranch dipping sauce was excellent. I just wish the pickles would have been sliced a little thicker. The pickle tended to get lost in all that breading. I got the Caprese Burger and was dissapointed. I thought all of the flavors were a little too strong to be put together. There was too much going on in my mouth at once. I’m a fan of caprese sandwiches, but this one was a let down. They also forgot to put a tomato on it. My husband got the Inside Out Bratwurst and he couldn’t eat it fast enough he loved it so much. The pretzel bread it came on was good and had a nice chewy texture you expect with a pretzel. This is a very messy sandwich… dont get it if you are on a date! Since it was during lunch time we both added the hand cut fries for $ 1. I thought the fries were over cooked and nothing special. My husband ate every last fry crumb on his plate. The fries come with the housemade ketchup and cajun remoulade. I thought the ketchup was too sweet and my husband(who doesn’t like ketchup) was about ready to lick the bowl clean. I preferred the cajun stuff. Actually I would have loved to have had another bowl of the chipotle ranch that came with the pickles. Will we go back? Maybe. Based on just my experience I would say no, but since my husband couldn’t stop raving about his meal there must have been something I was missing. Maybe I’ll just go with a classic burger next time.

Full disclosure, I am writing this from a vegetarian perspective. This burger place made me long for Blanc’s, which it is a kin to. I was sat immediately but waited some time for the waitress to come by. She seemed in a rush and really not to eager to serve but did a good job nonetheless. The environment was spacious and loud; ala Blanc’s, and the bathroom had a nice wallpaper print. The truffle fries were good and I did like the ketchup, spicier than the norm, and the remoulade but my «burger» was not so great. It fell a part in my hands and I had to eat it with a fork in pieces. The«burger» itself was not so tasty either. It had very little spices and it was pretty much was a gummy mess. The bun was good however. My partner had the caprese and said it was divine, but really I don’t think we will be back, I know it’s a meat based restaurant but if you are going to offer a veggie«burger» then make it a «burger».

I visited b:2 for lunch this afternoon and I must say I wished my experience was better. The restaurant is located in a semi-upscale shopping district that due to the economic downturn has let in shops that they would have never originally considered for tenants. That being said, b:2 bills itself as a «burger boutique» so it fits into the shopping district’s master plan. The menu is a la carte so expect to pay around $ 13 – 16 for a burger with fries. The quality of the ingredients is better than your average sit down restaurant so the higher price is understandable(to a point.) I ordered the Summit burger and fries and I found my meal to be quite tasty. I must say that I like lots of sauce and tons of salt so I liked my meal. The friends I was with thought the fries were too salty and there was too much sauce on their burgers though. I rated the restaurant two stars for it’s service, not it’s food. There seemed to be enough servers on duty, just more interested in hanging out in the kitchen than tending to the dining room. We did not get refills on our drinks and our server only visited us to take the order, deliver the order and tend to the check. I would say that the wait staff needs to be retrained on customer service. If you are going to run an upscale restaurant and charge premium prices, you need to have excellent customer service. I personally would not go back to b:2, there are similar style restaurants in the metro with much better service.

Although it’s expensive, they offer the best hamburgers in Lee’s Summit. That may not seem like much, especially when you consider the closest thing this town has to actual culture is a Wal-Mart that sells TWO different kinds of ice cream cake, but it’s a welcome relief to people who live in the area and don’t want to drive 40 minutes for a burger. They also have an absolutely staggering micro-brew list, but they’re all fairly expensive and offer no description of their taste. Plus you feel kind of silly when ordering something like«Pete’s Blue Badger Ball Ale.»

Took my daughter to B2 last night. She had the Caprese which we both just fell in love with. The burger comes on focaccia with basil instead of lettuce. If you like basil you will love this item. The rusticness of basil vs lettuce really makes this burger. I had the old school burger. The homemade mustard was excellent, the whole mustard seeds popping in your mouth is just fantastic. But the homemade ketchup tasted like tomato sauce. Could use a little spicing up. We shared a basket of truffle fries. My advice to you is to get an extra plate and dump the fries out so your eating the bottom ones first, you will get more of the truffle butter on the fries first. The truffle butter is out of this world. Even though we were full we couldn’t stop eating the truffle fries. Service was excellent. Our waiter or someone else kept our drinks full. They are very attentive without being annoying. The prices are more reasonable than the one on the plaza, of course. The only down side is the acoustics are very loud. They could use something to drown down the noise of conversations around you. There comes a point you feel like your yelling to the person at your table just to be heard. It’s worth the trip and we will be going back.

Atmosphere: Trendy burger boutique Seating: Smaller inside w/patio seating available Price: $ $ Service: Grade-A Experience: Never disappoints The short story: The burgers at b:2 are much like the atmosphere — PYT = pretty, yummy and trendy. My partner and I ventured over there one night last week and revisited AGAIN this week. It’s not often that I crave a burger or let alone, a gourmet salad made by a burger place… but b:2 has me hooked on both. I had the Summit burger(blue cheese fans will love it) and the goat cheese salad. On my 2nd visit I got the same burger and the Gouda fries which I think they should call Hella-gooda-fries(cuz they were hella good!). Check them out. You won’t be disappointed. The full monty: I’ve been to Blanc at Mission and Blanc on the Plaza… and have now been to b:2 twice. Though all have great burgers, for my liking, b:2 wins on scrumptious factor, presentation and service. On our first visit to b:2, the guy at the table next to us wasn’t satisfied with his black bean burger(god love you vegetarians — I don’t know how you do it). He told his server that it was just okay. The manager came over to 1) apologize, 2) tell him that he truly valued his opinion and ask what could have made it better, and 3) gave him a coupon for a free burger and asked for another chance to get it right. Their service just plain rocks. On both visits, the manager came to our table to personally ask how everything was and chit chat a bit but not in an annoying intrusive way. It truly seems like they are interested in what people think. Now on to the food… I am obsessed with the Summit(blue cheese) burger and the goat cheese salad. In my experience people are skimpy on two salad ingredients: cheese and nuts. Not b:2. They had enough goat cheese and pistachios for 2 salads and the lemon-zest-like dressing is a great compliment to the flavor of the dish. I noticed on their Facebook page that kids eat free on Monday nights(5−9pm) and that they have a happy hour coming soon. I can’t say enough good things about b:2 — the outstanding service and food have made me a b:2 believer. Lee’s Summit residents thank you for bringing a breath of fresh burgaire to our humble little city. See you next week…

I’ll lay it on the line… I went to the original, no-longer-in-existence Westport Blanc location when it first opened, and while it was tasty and visually appealing, it really toasted my buns to pay upwards of 50 bones for burgers, fries, and beers for two. Nothing against the food, but, hey, burgers and fries, right? I was excited to see the b:2 «li’l sis”-type version opening in my new neighborhood in Lee’s Summit, but a touch wary, mainly because it’s dubbed a «burger boutique,» which kinda makes the no-nonsense Midwesterner in me cringe. However, as it turns out, their pricing seems somewhat more fair(probably because the burgers are slightly smaller than at Blanc, but still more than big enough to be filling, especially when served on hearty buns). Also, no-nonsense Midwesterner or not, I do like having fancy bread options for my fancy burger, and a variety of sauces and toppings. Despite a touch of disappointment at there being no Inside Out burger on the menu at b:2, I was impressed with the choices. I was pretty torn, but ended up going with the Summit Burger, edging out the patty melt ever so slightly. The horseradish won me over. I couldn’t resist the truffle fries, which were thin-cut, crispy, oily, and utterly melt-in-the-mouth…but next time, I would probably get my fries plain to dunk in the sweet-yet-black-peppery homemade ketchup and remoulade. The sauces are fantastic, but with the truffle fries, I didn’t want to get too many flavors going on at once. I like having the option of having non-bottled drinks, like the bottomless iced tea, which was great. And our server was phenomenally attentive. The only thing that’s slightly distracting is that, with its stripped down interior and modern, exposed ductwork décor combined with a really high ceiling, there is quite an echo as the place fills up, and it can be hard to converse with somebody sitting right across from you, even, without feeling a little yell-y. I don’t know how much they could do about that, given that it’s just the space, but maybe some type of sound-absorbing acoustic panels could be hung. All in all, though, it’s clean, sunny, and has a nice feel to it. I could foresee eating outdoors, there, too, once the heat breaks. Edit — now that the place has closed, and The Pitch quoted the owner in blaming its failure on how the residents of Lee’s Summit were clearly lacking in the sophistication necessary to enjoy burgers and fries(and how he went with a different name expressly because the hicks out here had assuredly never heard of Blanc), I’m kinda sorry I ever went, and that I bothered to give him any ink.

I will definitely be return visitor to B.2. We were in the neighborhood and it was lunch time so jump on Unilocal and thought the reviews looked good enough to try. We were seated right away but they were very busy on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is not very big and it was pretty loud due to the acoustics. We shared the truffle fries and they were outstanding! My hustand had the bbq bacon burger. It was seriously messy but it was amazing. I had the turkey buruger. The basil mayo made the sandwich! Reasonably priced and we will go back to try some of the other burgers. Service was efficient.

I went to b2 cause I had a Groupon. Not having experienced Blanc Burgers and Bottles on the Plaza, this was impressively cool. There were patrons in the restaurant with sunglasses on, looking like the beatnik, yet modern place that b2 is. I’d been staring at the menu online for a couple of days. I removed my «I don’t eat cheeseburgers» line from my vocabulary, and took my 19 year old out for dunch.(Dunch is a made up word for that part of time during the day when it’s not lunch time, and not dinner time.) I had the patty melt, with French fries. The patty melt was huge, for one. How I ate all of it, I don’t know. It had thousand island dressing, Swiss cheese and grilled onions, with mushrooms. Not little ‘shroomy things, but full on mushrooms. The French fries were each cut perfectly thin. The ketchup, it’s an experience just to partake in their ketchup, which I believe they make themselves. My son had wings, which he described as «Fire», with sweet potato fries. I’d never eaten sweet potato fries. I liked them, and I bet I eat them again. The beers, which I didn’t order, was a splendid selection of finery, all lined up on shelves behind the mirrored bar. We had a male waiter, who treated us both spiffy. Not a long wait, but we were warned before hand about how long it took them to cook the wings. That means they are fresh. They have shakes, ice creams and floats, which are made with Shatto milk. Dairy is a no-no for me, and I can see a shake from b2 in my near future. I live in Independence, ya know? And b2 is close enough for me to be impressed. There isn’t a place like this anywhere near me. There certainly isn’t anywhere this cool in independence. I believe I have now become a regular customer. A bit pricey, but it’s worth it.

b:2 is a modern burger joint with a sophisticated setting. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a extremely modern, sleek, clean look and was instantly impressed. Immediately, I noticed the large amount of beers on the wall. The waiter informed us that they like to support the local small-scale breweries, and it shows. I got the B-Mac, and upon receiving my burger, I realized how it was supposed to be a Big Mac from that god-awful restaurant I am sure you all know of. The downside of my meal was the fact that this burger was so sloppy with sauce, I had to eat it with a fork and knife. The fries were tasty, and the ketchup was different. I personally loved the yellow sauce. The service was nice. Friendly people who serve you and seat you immediately. I did not take a trip to the bathrooms, however. Overall, A great restaurant.

I’ve been itching to try the new restaurants over in the Summit Fair shopping center since it opened– I feel like I am slightly late to the party and a little behind the times, so to speak. On a sticky Sunday afternoon, my family decided to pop into b:2 with an open mind and growling tummies. What we found there surprised us… pleasantly. ENVIRONMENT: The décor is probably b:2’s weak point. It’s very modern and squared/cubed, and somewhat minimalistic. There’s not much to look at outside of a few interesting(and misplaced?) light fixtures. There ARE plenty of windows, and that’s a good thing… though there really isn’t anything interesting to look at outside the restaurant either. Tables are a bit lo-fi, chairs could stand to be a little more comfortable, and things were just a little too tight in the dining area– the staff had to squeeze between tables often to get their job done. The restaurant is well-lit and was very clean. MENU/PRICING/VALUE: The menu is a simple one… but that’s ok. Just in case you walked in with a hankering for something other than burgers(strange considering the store’s clear name and obvious intention), you have a couple interesting choices to consider. But the burgers are obviously the stars of the show, and they all sounded so delicious that it made the selection process very difficult. That’s a good problem. The menu may be small, but there are plenty of interesting flavor combinations to choose from. All the burgers seemed to fall between 6 – 8 $, and baskets of fries were priced @ $ 4.50. My wife and I each ordered a burger of our own(she got the BBQ Bacon and I ordered the Summit– a blue cheese/horseradish-topped monster), and we got some sweet potato fries to share. Before we even finished ordering, they brought our 11 month old son a «complimentary child’s plate» that had golden raisins, Swiss cheese, and apple slices. Very classy– we didn’t even have to ask as it was a complete surprise. And our son loved it. We also truly appreciated the very sincere effort to use local ingredients and products in order to cost-cut, protect the planet, and ensure freshness. This led to real value on our plates, because the burgers were massive with plenty of fresh toppings. The order of fries was a little smaller than we’d guessed it’d be, but we were full enough with burger that we didn’t mind. Decent value overall. SERVICE: The staff was very friendly, never hovered, consistently timed their interactions well, and generally took good care of us. Manager stopped by briefly to make sure we were satisfied. Good service. TASTE: This is where they completely knocked it out of the park. The flavors on the burgers were rich and delicious, but never overpowered the palate. I was impressed with the balance of flavors, and the overall quality of the final product. The meat was cooked perfectly to medium, and there was plenty to go around. The Summit was fantastic, and the blue cheese/horseradish/grilled onions danced together in perfect harmony. I CANNOT wait to try all the other flavors now that I know how carefully they create these combinations. FINALRECOMMENDATION: If you want to catch a quick and easy meal(easy on your wallet AND in terms of effort)…then you need to give b:2 a try. I would definitely eat there again, and may even make it a regular occasion for my family. Everyone left happy– very impressive, and we barely spent 20 $. You just cannot beat that.

Must say I am still loving Blanc better at the moment, but B:2 is well on it’s way!!! Tried a little of everything and really enjoyed my meal with friends. The servers are friendly and attentive and the food came out quick and hot. We started with the Chicken Wings and HOLYHELL are they good. Perfect amount of flavor vs. heat and they are perfectly fried as well. The Gouda Cheese Fries are also delicious with salty bits of bacon and gooery cheese sauce. I had the Almond Crusted Eggplant and it was good, but deffinately not for everyone. It was spicy, salty and had a wonderful toasted-nut flavor as well. My fiancé had the Summit Burger and loved it and our roommate had the infamous cheese-stuffed Brat Burger and said that the pepper jack cheese and the pretzel bun were super delicious. I would recommend a trip to B:2 to anybody looking for a delicious, traditional or adventurous burger.

I normally don’t venture out into this part of town very often, but my boyfriend works in lees summit and we thought we would try this for lunch. The overall atmosphere is kinda blah. I felt like i was in a cafeteria. Some of the décor was really cool, like the wooden bar back splash and the light fixtures. Moving onto the food. I tried the caprese burger. It is on foccacia bread, with balsamic salad, a huge tomato, and goat cheese. ITWASTHEMOSTAMAZINGTHINGEVER. My boyfriend tried the old school, and it was also pretty good. We both agreed that mine was amazing. During lunch they offer a side of fries for $ 1. We tried both the sweet potato and the regular fries and they were also very tasty. Our server was soo sweet. She was very honest about how the burgers tasted, what she found that she liked and didn’t like. Her feedback and awesome service really made the trip worthwhile. Overall, i love this place. I am probably going to go again with my bf, but i think i will stick to the same burger. UPDATE: I have been back before I finished the review and the server remembered me and was still soo nice even though she wasn’t waiting on us. My boyfriend got the barbecue burger and it was pretty good but we both think the caprese is the best.

Love it. B:2 and Blanc have the best burgers in town. Lower priced than big brother Blanc(avg burger is $ 6 – 8 at B:2) and a pared down menu, but still plenty of unique options to choose from — including the truffle fries. I’ve tried the Old School burger(exactly as it sounds), Caprese, and BBQ Bacon burgers. All were delicious. They have a mon — fri happy hour special that has to be one of the best in town. Boulevard Beer for $ 2, $ 2.50 well drinks, $ 2 fries(gouda, truffle, etc) and plenty of other great happy hour specials. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Good bartenders and the manager usually comes by each table. Easily one of the best places to eat in Lee’s Summit(or KC for that matter).

Shortly after b:2 opened its doors I found myself in Lee’s Summit and stopped by for lunch. It’s a little bit hard to find… but that could be my lack of knowing the area. Once I found the shopping center I found b:2 right away… its located on the East side of the shopping center straight as you enter the shopping area. After my average experience at a few other newer burger joints I tried not to get too overly excited. But, knowing this was an off shoot of Blanc it was hard not to have a little anticipation. I was quickly greeted and seating next to the front windows. The design is very similar to Blanc, very modern but has a minimalist vibe going. I found the menu very similar to Blanc, but a little tamer. Which honestly, is fine by me — sometimes I find the combo’s at Blanc a little odd — always good but sometimes strange? I went for the B Mac… a little play on the golden arches. Two 4 oz beef patties on Farm to Market bread — you get it. I ordered the side fries for the extra dollar vs. the whole order of fries — it was a small order of fries but that was fine for me. My food came out fairly quickly and WOW — what a great burger. Perfectly cooked, fresh tasting, and everything was well balanced. The only thing I can say I didn’t care for was the spicy aioli that came out with the fries. They make their own top notch ketchup(a little tangy & spicy) so I was fine. I was fairly impressed with this place… if you like Blanc… you will love b:2 if your looking for a similar food while in Lee’s Summit.
