This place probably has the worst service you could ever get. The bartenders are awful and if you try to have a conversation with them they act like you’re being rude. I don’t think I’ve ever had a complaint about a bar until I went here because it seems like a very simple service, you are just out trying to enjoy yourself with friends. A beer is a beer everywhere. The only friendly people are probably the bouncers/front door men. If you are in Lees Summit I highly advise avoiding the Peanut. Just go somewhere like Stuey McBrews, Sharkeez, or Bricks.

Old skool wings, which I like. But it’s a pretty young crowd if you’re going to go on a Fri or Sat night. Never been during the day to catch a game so I can’t say if the day is any different. Fairly affordable.

We used to love to come here. The last two times we have come here the food has been absolutely horrible, the service has been awful, and it’s filthy. It must have changed owners, and I garuntee it will be closed in 6 months. The food tastes old and microwaved. We used to love the wings and those aren’t even tolerable anymore. The staff seems bored and put out. Will never go back. I set up this Unilocal account specifically to write a review for this place. We ended up trying Konrads. Delicious. Food was fresh and the service was great. I hope the Peanut closes their doors sooner than later before someone gets sick. Very sad. What a shame… shame on whatever owner and manager ran this place in to the ground.

This location does not have as good FOOD as other locations in KC. The«go to «items at most locations are the wings and BLT. I don’t like those items at this location. I don’t know what the deal is with the food quality. I love the location of this bar, and go to it for a beer, but not to eat.

Slowest restaurant ever. I can see the cook and he’s not wearing gloves or a hair net and is touching the food and snacking while making the food. We’ve been here an hour and haven’t gotten our food yet.

Mediocre food. TERRIBLE service, and even WORSE management. The owner of this place is an alcoholic MESS who uses this place as her personal party spot rather than a business. We brought a large party to the Peanut in Lees Summit Tuesday night for our annual Guys Christmas Party, and had a horrible experience! There were 15 – 20 at various points, as has been in years past. One of the organizers tried calling the bar twice to talk to make sure management was prepared for us, and possibly get some kind of drink special due to the amount of money these guys typically spend at this event. No one returned his call. When we arrived, they were NOT prepared for this large of a group, though the venue had more than enough space for us, and were only moderately busy, the bartended seemed to be the only one working and though doing his best, was completely overwhelmed. There were actually 2 other girls working there, but they were much more concerned with socializing in the kitchen or going outside to smoke. As the night went on, a middle aged blonde girl came to our table with money, obviously intoxicated, demanding we take the money and play some music. When we asked if she was the manager, she said«Nope». She was a little intrusive, but left the group after the music started. We had no idea how much of a story this woman would being of our evening! We would later find out from one of her staff that her name was Sarah and she was in fact the owner. Several guys went out to the patio to smoke, and found Sarah sitting there. She asked what we were there for and we told her for a Xmas party. We told her how we had changed venues this year, and were rather disappointed so far. We told her we tried to call but no one returned the call. Her response was, «Well you still came didn’t you?» Over the course of the next couple of hours, Sarah continually tried to insert herself into our party. Make sexual advances towards one of the younger members of our group(21 yrs old), slurring, stumbling, and calling us ‘Dicks’ and ‘Bitches’. All of the member of the group were civil, and though dropped many hints that maybe she wasn’t welcome, she did not pick up on these, or completely ignored them. We decided we did not want to spend any more money there and began to tab out. One of the staff people apologized and stated she gets like this often and it’s embarrassing to staff members. Once we started asking for our tabs, Sarah started cussing us and and yelling for us to get out of her bar. We left and went to another establishment a few doors down and were treated wonderfully. After being at the new place for 15 – 20 minutes, Sarah walked in, and again tried to join the group. She was picking up other people’s beer to drink, with the bartender snatching them out of her hand each time. It wasn’t until someone told her very plainly and directly she wasn’t welcome that she left for good. The bartender would later tell us she was banned from drinking in there, and this is not uncommon and she is well known there for her behavior as well. I wrote a very similar review on Facebook, and the page was promptly taken down and I was blocked. I would NEVER go back to the Peanut in Lees Summit… I wish I could give it a lower rating. I guess she gave our group a story for next year, but other than that, absolutely terrible!

Cool neighborhood spot on the square in Lee’s Summit. It’s a great choice for a bigger gathering like the going-away party we had for a co-worker last week. In addition to seating for a big group, our server kept up with us as folks trickled in. I got a Greek chicken salad that was generous with chicken and yummy feta cheese, in a very pretty presentation. The plate of nachos across the table from me was huge. I didn’t try any of them, but did eat a fried pickle for the first time and immediately became a fan. Theirs are slices of whole pickle; not the hot garlic variety, but they had a delicious dill flavor. The beer selection is about a dozen, Tank 7 did me just fine. Reading through some other reviews, I was surprised about complaints of bad service. Like I said, our group trickled in one at a time, and everyone’s order was taken and brought out in good time, dishes removed, drinks refilled, etc, etc, etc., and our server was very nice. I’m not in LS very often, but I’d have no reservations about coming here again.

Horrible service! Waited over 30 minutes for a beer! Seriously? !? While watching the waitress flirt with young guys and serve their beers before us. We ordered food, so lost out on a much bigger tip.

Some of the worst service I’ve ever seen! I’ve never had a good experience at this location but continue to come back because it’s close and I love the BLTs that much. But this was the last time. It’s never crowded, in fact there are only 6 other people here, yet getting service is near impossible. The only bartender and server on staff sat on the patio smoking for quite some time before my husband finally had to go ask them to serve us, only to find out the kitchen was closed. Would have been nice to know when we sat down, eventually got drinks and were clearly looking at the food menu. Even checked hours online before we came and nothing anywhere says the kitchen closes early. This location is just terrible and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I EXPERIENCEWORSTSERVICEEVER! We had to clean our own table from the previous customers, after getting our drinks we waited thirty minutes before our order was placed and the only reason the waitress came to us I asked the«Door Man» to have someone help us. After the«Door Man» told the MANAGER, they did not come out to address us. Then our son got some nachos full of jalapeño peppers and he can’t eat jalapeño peppers, the waitress never asked us if we did not want them. It was odd the people around us got decent SERVICES. Management and staff knew it was going to be crowded with the festival going on, poor planning from all parties.

This has always been my least favorite Peanut location, but man, things have gone from bad to worse. I don’t know if they are on the verge of closing up shop, but it’s dirty, service is very slow, half the taps are shuttered. We went in last night at 8pm and were told the kitchen was closing. Feeling rushed, we ordered on the spot. BLT’s came out before the wings, wings were cold. Ended up sending them back and having them taken off our bill. The wings were the sole reason we went to the Peanut. What a shame. Honestly, we left swearing off that location for good. The chairs are ripped and uncomfortable, the place has a generally bad odor and there is visible dirt everywhere. I think they’ve just given up and I’m not sure this particular location is long for this world. Sad.

This place needs a major face lift. All the chairs are wobbly, the place appears dirty and the beer is skunky! We have told them multiple times but it never changes so we don’t drink the beer. I gave it 2 stars because the food is GREAT! A remodel would be nice.

Great food. Good bar atmosphere. A little too loud to watch a game but the hot wings are outstanding. Great stuff that noticed you right away, unlike other establishments on the street. Been here many times. Will be back. Oh and the new years eve party Is off the hook.

Everyone talks about The Peanut. We were out and about one afternoon in Lee’s Summit, so headed over there. We had a coupon, which was accepted graciously(not always the case, you know.) We were there at the end of lunch. We had prompt and attentive service. The table could have been cleaner(a lot cleaner), but we left satisfied. I had tenderloin sandwich; it was good, but not great. Mom ordered the Cuban sandwich; it was tasty, but not pressed like the menu advertised. We had several refills during our meal and she still offered to-go cups when we left, which was really nice of her. I’d go back, but I’d order a little differently. I did REALLY like the onion rings, although a few is enough. I’d probably stick to daytime visits since it seems like this place might get a little too loud during game nights.

This is a bar people, remember that before you eat at The Peanut. It isn’t a clean environment and smells like a bar. We went on Sunday afternoon. There was not a wait and we didn’t have any problems getting service. It’s a great place because kids can play games and sports are always playing on the TV’s. The BLT is the best in the city. The wings are HUGE!!! It’s a great place to go with a group.

The wings are always great, the beer is always cold. Sometimes this is just a spot you think, I will come back here all the time it is so good. Then you come in and the service is just slow or they seem a bit put out you are even there. The day that happens you get a draft beer that is skunky. Think the beer lines need to be cleaned more often. Now I have learned to adjust my expectations enjoy the crowd the wings and a bottled beer. A place I want to love and hope they improve on the consistency so that I will.

Our kids love this place because they can play shuffleboard and darts while they wait. We like it on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as our kids eat free. The food is really good, but the staff always seems to be a bit put out to serve the patrons. If the wait staff was better, this would have definitely been a 4 star review.

The wings were pretty darn good considering I’m not a buffalo wing type of guy. The wings were huge and steaming when they came to the table. They also came with a homemade blue cheese sauce that was really good as well and I hate blue cheese. I stepped out of my box today and was presently surprised.

Lee’s Summit’s Peanut has a rather more gentrified atmosphere than it’s older sister on Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri. It’s still mostly a bar but it is at least twice as big, has two bars and lots more TVs playing sports. The music on the jukebox was very heavy on Country songs while we were there for a late lunch this afternoon. The menu is familiar though, and offers good sandwiches, sides and a lot of the same items as the other Peanut. I ordered a Triple BLT and that really hit the spot. For a dollar more the kitchen will replace the potato chips with a different side. Hubby and I both went with the onion rings and they were great! Hubby ordered the pressed Cuban Sandwich and that was another winner. I had a bite and would definitely order it myself sometime(if I ever get tired of the wonderful BLTs). That probably won’t be anytime soon because, at The Peanut, a BLT includes a generous handful of grated cheddar cheese and chopped red onion. Oh my, just talking about it makes me ALMOST hungry enough for another one right now! Even though there were precious few other customers when we got there in mid-afternoon, our sandwiches were a little slow coming out of the kitchen but our server was very helpful and sweet and overall, I enjoy this location and the food has always been good when we are there. So I am a fan.
