I was under whelmed. We arrived on time for our reservation and we were seated. We waited 10 minutes to place a drink order. We waited at least another 15 min to place our food order. Our server seemed frazzled and rushed. I got the lobster ravioli as an appetizer, they were cold. Our food seemed to take forever and when we finally got it, my duckling was dry and severely overcooked. My husband’s prime rib was cold. I realize it was Valentines weekend, but they should’ve been prepared.

Quaint but acoustically very noisy; many stairs to climb(not easily accessible for those with handicaps). The food is passible but nothing to write home about. Nice view of a lake.

We had dinner during a beautiful sunset over the lake, the service excellence the food was a little overpriced.

Really great experience. Great food, great view. I would recommend calling for a reservation. There are two main rooms, and one of the rooms commands an fabulous view of a lake and woods. It was a fun experience, reminded us of a supper club. Escargot appetizer was delicious, served atop mushroom caps. As others have noted, the roast half duck is amazing. I found the orange sauce slightly overpowering, but I just used is sparingly. The salmon was done perfectly. Carrot cake for desert, wonderful! The crème brûlée was also great. It is on the pricier side, but is well worth it.

Nice rustic & historic place with a beautiful lake view. Food was really tasty — had the veal oscar. It was delicious, but very heavy. My husband had the strip steak and he enjoyed it. Would recommend this place– go a bit before sunset, so the sun is up and you can enjoy the view!

Not only was the food very good, but I personally felt the service was very good. The bartender was always there to check on your meal and refill your drink, but it was genuine in a feeling of, «I’m doing this because I want you to be satisfied» vs. «I just get paid to do this»

After years of driving by, finally stopped in for dinner. A surprise, food an service were just what we were looking for. Price is right and should thank the staff for finding a brand new box of crayons.

Atmosphere was nice; help friendly; food needs improvement — veal and scrod meals much better elsewhere.

Our meal started here when one of the locals suggested we come on in while we were outside reading the menu. As far as I am concerned she was most likely an employee portraying another customer talking about how great the food is and how impressed we will be just to get us inside. We dicided to enter the restaurant. Upon entering, we stood in the doorway for approximatly ten minutes while the staff walked by, nodded and forced out some smiles in our direction. Finally we were seated. I was quite surprised by the menu prices, but I am a firm believer in the age old saying«you get what you pay for» so I was prepared to pay extra to be wowed. We started with a shrimp cocktail appetizer, the sauce was ok but the four infinitesimal shrimp left much to be desired. Next we moved onto our salads which were included with the high priced entrees. We were given a choice of three dressings, I chose creamy italian which went very well with the six pieces of lettuce and three carrot shavings I was told was their salad. Finally it was entrée time, after being left starving I was very eager to enjoy my $ 23.00NY strip steak. I was served my steak and was not overly impressed off the bat. The meat was not cooked to my liking but judging by how hungry I was and how long it took to come out the first time, I didnt dare send it back. The cut of meat was repulsive. I cut the fat off my meat and after doing so was left with a six ounce steak. I ate three bites and cut into the steak for my fourth and was greeted by a ¼″ artery running through the center of my steak. At which point I was no longer hungry, not from being filled up by these highly overpriced menu items, but rather by being nauseated by this awful sight. I could not finish and left the restaurant with the same hunger I went in with and a far lighter wallet. The other members of my dining party were equally dissapointed. I feel as though this establishment portrays a high end dining endowment by serving their small portions at colossal prices, but are far from delivering on that promise. We will never return.

I like the environment. A big restaurant, table with water view. Good for a romantic dinner. The food is below average. Not very tasty. The service is ok.

If you want the best roasted half duck, then this is the place. Chris Ryan and his wife Jasmine have done an excellent job of running this very traditional-looking quintessential old New England Taverny restaurant in the Berkshires. While I almost always order the duck(why anything else?), I have to admit we have on several occasions just sat at the bar and simply munched on apps, such as the mussels(when on the menu) or the Spicy Andouille Sausage combined with more than one bottle of wine. Prices here are about 10−30% less than many other restaurants in the Berkshires for what is certainly as good or better food. The menu overall is traditional American — no nouveau cuisine; and the wine list is populated with very quaffable but inexpensive selections. The perfect duck and well-priced wine — I’m there!
