Crooked Hammock is a fun environment with great burgers and sides and craft beer. We had wonderful service from our server Karen who also offered suggestions on what to order… the Shoobie Blond beer was refreshing. But my favorite part was the dessert… a blond brownie with salted caramel ice cream — such a nice blend of flavors in my mouth. Worth every calorie. Love love loved the ambiance, we played ping pong outside on the deck, played Cornhole, and sat in hammocks and sat by a big fire. Who doesn’t love that feel of being in a backyard with friends, good eats, cold beer, games⁉

What a fun place! Best server EVER — Karen! Soooo knowledgeable and attentive. Incredible dessert — you have to try the Salted Blondie Sundae. Awesome bartenders — Ryan and John! Amazing beers. Looking forward to going back!

Came back a second time to give them another chance. Same experience unfortunately. Poor service, indifferent staff and the beer is okay at best. I’d suggest this place might do well to recognize the benefit of local suppport. They don’t have it from this local and I doubt they’ll be getting a third chance any time soon.

Poor bar food and even worse service. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

I go there almost every weekend and the food is great, the service is quick! I’m stalking them for the next Steal The Pint night!

We came here for a family feud game night. We had an excellent time. Great atmosphere and good food. The beer was great as well all brewed here. We will definitely be back!

Awesome atmosphere, THEBESTNACHOS, GREATBEER! I tried a combo of shrimp and pork kabobs. came out with raw pork on the first try, but the re-did it to perfection and comped the pork. My wife’s burger was ok. Maybe stick with the spectacular apps and delicious beer :)

Would love to love the place. but after two times, here it is — service preoccupied, food seemed very mediocre. For a local hangout with beer and something to do with the kids. might be fine.

Really wonderful place. The design and decorations really set it apart from other breweries in the area. Great beer, delicious food(try the loaded nachos).

The food was good for what we had. Crab cake and buffalo chicken sandwich. Had the IPA and I thought it was pretty tasty. Not Dogfish, but tasty. We came for lunch and I was surprised how quick our order came. Good place for some grub.

A great concept and interesting space. Beer was reasonably good for a small local Brewer and food quality was also good but the service was abysmal. Waitress seemed lost and for a slow day at lunch, 1 hour to get our sandwiches was unacceptable. A table down from us came in 15 minutes later and got food 15 minutes earlier. On another occasion where coworkers came in for drinks, service was better but was still sub par. If they can get their act together it could be good but I can’t imagine coming here during peak season if they can’t handle it when slow. Too many other better local options than waste another trip here.

We really wanted to love this place. It’s a great concept with really good people behind it. It looks great and it’s crowded, so maybe it’s just not for us. The food is «fine». We have been in 5 times and the Burger is the best thing we ate. Wings are so so and the Shrimp on the skewers was hammered… Very over done. The beer is ok and the cocktails are ok. The service is very(very) slow. The outside is nice, but too many little kids with too much screaming. Everyone is friendly enough, but seemed under trained. Cocktails are inconsistent and it’s a bit pricey for what it is. We hope that it hits its stride and turns into a great spot. As it is now, happy for their success but probably won’t be back

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday in the off season so it wasn’t crowded at all. We sat at the bar. Comments about the service rang true… took forever for the bartender to come over and then even longer for him to return to take orders. Beers were okay… not bad, not great, just okay. Food was okay too. I had the chicken salad sandwich which had a little too much onion and mayo but overall was fine. We’ll probably go back at some point, but it’s not on our list of top places for a meal in the area.

This was our first visit and our entire experience was wonderful. Perhaps after a few more visits the rating will increase but for now 4* seems accurate. The ambiance was fun and the food and drink were very good. We had the jumbo wings appetizer and sampled two of the in house brewed beers. The wings were meaty and had some kick. The beers were both good. Dinner: burger — it’s made fresh there just like you do at home and was one of the best burgers I’ve had at a restaurant. Mini Crab cakes with a side of Mac and Cheese — both excellent. The host staff, bar staff, and wait staff were friendly, informative and service was GREAT! Highly recommend that others try this new place out

We tried to get in a few times when this place first opened but it was packed. Finally got in on a Tuesday nite. Place was busy but we were seated right away. Very nice looking, upscale craft brewery and restaurant. We were psyched that another large but not huge restaurant opened in Lewes. What a big disappointment. My wife and i ordered a burger and a crab cake sandwich. After a solid 30 minutes our unattentive waiter told us the kitchen was having problems and the food would be right out. After 45 minutes waiter reappeared and brought us some old deviled eggs which we did not order and we declined them. Waiter told us something happened to our order and ha apologized and brought me a free beer(which was a decent craft beer). He said the manager would come by later. Still no food after after an hour! Then the sandwiches came out finally and they were decent but by then we were so annoyed it didn’t matter. After another 20 minutes the lame manager came over and never apologized. He offered us a free dessert(big deal). We told him we wanted him to take care of the check which he reluctantly did. No way we will ever come back which is a bummer cause we love craft breweries. If u get lucky maybe you will have a better experience than us.

This place is pretty cool. Had the nachos with chili. Very good but will skip the chili next time– it was a little greasy. Veggie kabobs were excellent! We «crowded our plate» with sides and they were awesome. My only wish is that they had a domestic lite beer for us wimpy beer drinkers.

The waitress was terrible, she couldn’t get the orders straight and everything took forever. The nachos made my friend and I very sick, as soon as we came home! The food isn’t very good! When I called to tell them their food made us sick, they didn’t care! Don’t bother with this restaurant!

I try to live by a few simple rules. One rule is ‘Never update your software when it’s first released. Never try a restaurant when it first opens.’ We gave The Crooked Hammock a month or more to ‘get their act together’. It was worth the wait. Sure, it’s beach prices, but everything is relative. There were reasonable deals — the backyard sides«crowd your plate» and a beer flight(nice pours). Susan got the Grilled Vegetable Salad. The veggies looked and tasted great with a nice charring and a wonderful smokey flavor. She also got the Slow Cooked Beef Short Rib which she said she’d get again. I had the Veggie MOO Burger and got three sides — Jalepeno Cheddar Cornbread, 3 Cheeses Mac n’ Cheese, and the Bacony Baked Beans. All were terrific — delicious tasting, large portions, and very, very filling. We even had the Death By Chocolate Cake and Ice Cream. We ate too much, YOLO! Our waitress was personable and knowledgeable. We did not have to wait for a table. The place had a relaxed feel with a fun vibe. All in all, we’ll be back soon.

We were there on one of there soft opening nights. Make your reservation now for prime times, you are going to need it. Yes they are a brew pub. 4 beers as of last night, one more ready by tomorrow when they open. If you don’t love craft beer don’t fret, they also have plenty of wine, cocktails, and a full open bar with bartenders you already know and love. Apps — we ordered the pretzel(the one item I didn’t love– I’m saving my carbs for the desserts and that delicious corn bread!) and the deviled eggs. Put server was quick to accommodate my request for half the eggs to be served with no bacon and they were great. We each ordered and entrée with an additional side. We had the quinoa stuffed pepper, the vegetable skewer(which came with Seitan which wasn’t listed on the menu but was a great bonus) and then had the sautéed spinach side, the black bean and corn salad, and the cornbread. The cornbread is amazing, served warm, just a little kick and the perfect texture. Everything was delicious and healthy. Dessert by Nage genius Dru Tevis so you already know they are going to be amazing! Overall had a really great experience and can’t wait to go back!
