One of my favorite places! I call is my cheers! It’s a fine dining place w/the best basics & soups.

I order marinated steak sandwich. It was very good. The flavor was just right. I would have gave four stars but the service was subpar. But I would go again to see what other menu items that would delight my pallet. P. S. Do not get the tap water. It taste like dishwater after thanksgiving dinner.

The Waterfront use to be the place to go for good quality food that was a step up from other establishments. The last couple times we visited there was something off. Most recently we call in for takeout. Upon arrival I couldn’t get anyone to retrieve my order. Every waitress/hostest said that they didn’t take my order so they couldn’t get my food. What type of policy was this? Finally after a significant wait(my food was done and waiting) a waitress grabbed my order and checked me out. Once we were home and opened our dinners we immediately wished we’d ordered from somewhere else. The pasta dinner was swimming in oil, thrown together and flavorless beyond the oil taste. The appetizer dip was the smallest portion possible and about as flavorful as one that could be purchased in a grocery store. What a huge disapointment. Add the cost of the meals and the poor quality, it was a huge waste of time and money.

Went one time with my wife. Service was terrible. The waiters had totally forgotten we were even there and waited for half an hour before someone figured it out that nobody had waited on us. We were getting ready to walk out at that point. Food wasn’t worth the wait and overpriced for what it is. Haven’t gone back and won’t be doing so.

We were on our way back from WI when we decided to take a detour and stop for a late lunch. We saw signs for this place on a prior trip back from State College and thought it looked like an interesting place to go. Perhaps it was the time of day but despite previous reviews about less than perfect service here, our service was great! The waiter was prompt, checked back on us frequently and we received our food in a very short amount of time. I ordered the BBQ roast beef sandwich and my husband had the rodeo burger. Both were cooked well and the food quality left us with nothing to complain about. The roast beef was lean and the burger was made with sirloin and perfectly done. The patio view was great and everything appeared clean and tidy. We thought the prices were very reasonable and left happy.

Well, I gave it another try after a couple years. This time for dinner. I’ll wait another couple years to try again… hoping for improvement! The outside bar is great in the warmer weather though! Service was slow and not attentive– never a smile… We had a table upstairs(we were the only ones up there, was on a Wed night at 7) the view would have been better if the windows were not so dirty. The food was pretty good, not worth putting up with poor service for. Generally the place is not so tidy either. I had surf-turf: snow crab legs/claws and fillet steak, steak was quite good. My wife had the Greek pasta with shrimp and she liked it. She had broccoli poppers too for starter that she liked.

I just love this place. Their food is probably the best in Mifflin and Juniata Counties combined. No matter what I ever order, it’s always delicious. The ONLY complaint I have(and the only reason I’m rating it 4-Stars instead of 5) is the service here is terrible. Every single time I go here, it takes forever to get our food and even longer to get the check. I even try to go during the«slow» times when not many people are there. I spoke to one of the waitresses one time, and she had said they are really under-staffed and she had been working a lot of doubles. They should definitely look into hiring more wait staff…

What a gem! We are from 2 hours away and stopped in on a whim because of the great view of the river! Food was excellent! Hubby had ribs and I had beer battered fish/shrimp with the Greek pasta for a side. Service was good, fairly quick for a Saturday night! Beer selection wasn’t the best ever but I applaud them for having at least 6 taps with a few micro brews. Not sure why some people have rated this place bad, but I’m a bit of a food/beer snob and I think this place is great! Especially for Lewistown!

Freezing! The place has no HEAT! Everyone was wearing their coats including the staff. One waitress said it had been that way all winter! Fix it! It is not the wait staff’s fault but it ‘s someone’s fault! This used to be the only fine dining place in the area. No more. This was amateur night. The food was even served cold. Very disappointing evening. Call first to see if there’s heat.

The service here was terribly slow. It took over half an hour to get our food, which was simple stuff. A salad and a burger. The burger was ordered medium rare, but delivered«well done». The server was flitting from table to table and clearly disorganized. After we finished our extraordinarily mediocre meal, we had to wait a very long time just to pay. I would never go here again.

Ate here recently. Food was outstanding but for a full restaurant, not including a large party upstairs, there were only two servers. Very slow service but the food was terrific.

From multiple visits, mostly Fall 2011. The website WRONGLY says that Lunch ends and Dinner begins at 4:00PM, they have yet to change it after being told over a year ago. This did impact my one visit with family as I was counting on ordering from the dinner menu. The appetizers and the House, Stilton and Spinach Salads are the only vegetarian offerings on the lunch menu. Although they are fine and the entrée sized salads are generous, I really wanted to try the Greek Pasta on the dinner menu. Sadly, the downstairs bar and its worn floor keep the cute interior of the main dining area smelling like stale beer. If the downstairs is starting to get full, make sure to ask to sit upstairs. The view is even better because you don’t have to look through the furniture on the deck and it looks down onto the Juniata, quite pleasant in any season.

Just a brief visit. Beautiful setting, looking over the river. Wait staff were nice and friendly. Our artichoke dip was good and came out fast. A real bonus is they are serving beer from a new, local company, the Drunken Monkey. Only a couple on tap, but the blond ale was tasty.

We were here visiting family and after reading the other reviews we had high hopes. Apparently too high. The wait staff was inattentive, not one refill on my beverage in almost two hours. And we weren’t there for so long because of the pleasant atmosphere. Almost an hour for our meals to be served after apps/salads were done. And they didn’t take that time to get it right. My husbands burger was cooked to hocky puck status(they did take half off even though he sent almost all of it back), my son’s pasta was greasy and covered in vinegar and my chicken was obviously frozen and watery. For over 15 $ on just my dish I didn’t expect frozen, skinless, boneless chicken like you find in the cheap bulk bag of the grocery store. Definately a disappointment for our first time visiting the area. It might be an ok bar, but I’d rather hit a McDonald’s to eat before hand.

I have to admit, definitely the best food in town of maybe 6 restaurants that are not chains. It was pretty good, not terrible or spectacular. Artichoke spinach dip was alright. You do miss the flavors of the artichokes and spinach mixed in with the heavy cheese. Wasn’t bad. Burgers were pretty solid. Wanted to try the Cesar salad, but it never showed up. I will just leave my comment about the greenhorn waiter at that.

Being from Lewistown, I’ve always loved the Waterfront. They have the best burger in town. I also had the duck once and it was fabulous. If you want a classier dining experience, make sure you request to be seated upstairs. The downstairs is more of a bar atmosphere. It’s also really great to sit on the deck when it is warm out. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the last time I ate there I got pasta and it hadn’t seemed to be cooked long enough.

Lucky us, my husband and I happened upon this little gem on the way back from a Penn State road trip. Wow. We had lunch, and while it was a little pricey for lunch– the food quality made it well worth it. Being a rainy day, we both opted for hot entrees rather than burgers or sandwiches. The menu selection was excellent. We enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip, a salmon entrée and a crab cake entrée. All were delicious! I can only imagine how nice this place must be on a sunny day outdoors by the water. We will be back!

Excellent food, unparalleled within an hour radius of Middleburg. I had the filet and was very happy to be eating well prepared food in Central Pennsylvania. Nice atmosphere and good service make this a complete win in my opinion. I also want to note this is about mid-way between Middleburg and State College and therefore a perfect place to meet up.

Pretty much the best place in town. I had this at 4 stars, but demoted to 3, because of the petty pricing. Extra charge for blue cheese and celery with wings? Who does that? Extra charge for blackened seasoning? What? The food is great. Staff is great. But cut the ticky tack charges.

Finally! Haaaaa lay lu yah. Lewistown has a decent place to go out to and a waterfront option that takes advantage of the gorgeous Juniata River. I was skeptical at first, because I hadn’t been to the waterfront or anywhere in Lewistown for a decade and expectations were low, really low. But, from the menu selection, wine list(seriously!), view, service and prices the waterfront really delivered. The salads were fresh and nicely dressed. Burgers moist and lean. Fish was fresh and delicate. The menu features a bit of something for every palate. The club soda in my first cocktail was totally flat, but I was so content didn’t even mention it. Sure that our friendly server would have fixed it up. Looking forward to going back and trying more items in the future, while watching the sunset over the river.
