I’m not much of a coffee person but as for their smoothies/milkshakes– pretty good. I wouldn’t say that it’s a place where I’m like«hey I want a smoothie, I’m gonna go to escapé» it’s more of a place where if I’m the neighborhood(literally) I will get an occasional smoothie. The service is so/so. The one Asian lady that runs the place is not very kid friendly but the teens working there are fine at what the do. An average coffee shop.

This is a fun little shop not too far from our house. It’s great to run by and grab some donuts, kolache and coffee. The service I’ve had is incredibly friendly and quick, and the prices are good. The couple of times I’ve been, most people seem to carry out(which is what I do, too), but I’m planning to eat there sometime soon to see what it’s like.

Escape is a cool little neighborhood donut shop in the Castle Hills addition. There is plenty of outdoor seating when the weather’s nice, but there is some indoor as well, although it’s much tighter inside. I could see it getting cramped if it was cold outside and the inside was crowded. The outdoor option is nice, most donut shops only offer the indoor limited seating. Although we weren’t there long, the employee behind the counter was friendly, so no issues there. In addition to the traditional donuts, Escape offers teas, smoothies, coffees, kolaches, and sandwiches. We had kids wanting donuts on a Sunday morning, so we went with some traditional donuts and kolaches. The apple fritter was great, there is plenty of cinnamon and apple flavor throughout the donut. It was lacking some of the crunchy edges which are my favorite part of this donut. There were some, but not as many as I prefer. My son loved the donut holes, and Escape offers donut holes with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. Not every place offers sprinkles, so the kids liked that. The kolaches were clearly freshly baked, the bread was moist and flaky, and the sausage was juicy. Also, you could actually taste the cheese, rather than just see it. I’ve had too many«cheese» hot dogs or kolaches where the cheese flavor is non-existent. Not the case with Escape’s kolaches. Great neighborhood shop with plenty of parking. We have friends that live in the Castle Hills neighborhood, and next time we’re down in Lewisville visiting them we’ll absolutely return to Escape.

Customer service: The dude behind the counter was very friendly. He offered to answer any questions I had about the drink menu and was very knowledgeable. Location and Vibe: This place is located in Castle Hills. It’s very cute and has a lot of outdoor seating with nice fountains. BUT it feels kind of culty here. Very M Night Shyamalan The Village or Population 436. Ever feel like the whole town is watching you?! Coffee: I got the coconut mocha because everyone seems to love it. I should have stuck to the basics. It was too sweet for my taste. Tasted more like coconut hot chocolate than coffee. I’d probably give it another try if I was in the area but I wouldn’t drive out of my way for it.

Their Costa Rican is the best cup of coffee I’ve found in far north Dallas /Denton Co; a nice balance of honey, nut, and citrus flavors. Added benefit: you can hear the rich women gripe about their housekeepers and personal trainers, always entertaining.

I’ve been going to escape ever since they had the old Kroger location. I love this place. While the Kroger location was better for studying, you can definitely still get work done at this location depending on time. During weekend mornings or holidays, families may come out for donuts and breakfast so it can get rowdy, but at all other times, it’s pretty great. Great drinks always, love the service, and definitely love those blueberry donut holes. My favorite coffee shop in town for sure!

Some what clean lol… very friendly service… good donut and pastry… Haven’t had their coffee yet… so can’t review on that… but their raspberry filled donut, choco and glazed donuts are very yummy also apple turnover is very very good! Crispy layers are very good but the filling is a tiny bit on the sweet side… will definitely visit again

Great place inside castle hills for donuts or bubble tea! I love their jasmine milk tea with tapioca and their donuts are always really soft. They have a variety of sandwiches and oatmeal as well, if you’re looking for something to eat other than sweets. They have punch cards as well so you can get a free drink! The owner is so nice and always remembers my order when I go in. They have a variety of seating inside and outside which is nice. It’s also a good place to study! I’m so glad it’s close by.

Tasty coffee. Excellent service. Solid wifi signal. Unlike, the Starbucks across the street, many tables and many(instead of just one) had a power outlet. And an incredible variety of donuts. I had a cinnamon covered buttermilk donut that was really, really tasty.

Great donut shop. I’ve been a regular since they were at their old location on Hebron. They always have a great selection and they have a nice cozy coffee shop atmosphere. Only downside is since the location is significantly smaller, it gets really cramped if you come during a popular time.

I love this coffee shop and would pick it any day over Starbucks or other major chains. It’s quiet, cozy, the employees are very friendly, and their food and drinks are delicious. There is a very wide range of options on their menu including bubble teas and lunch foods. I usually go for the self serve black coffee in the mornings on my way to work which is very cheap and tastes great. But any other special drink I’ve had — Coconut Mocha, Ginger Chai, Pumpkin Latte — has been fantastic. I also love their kolaches! There’s also a nice view of the Castle Hills lake right outside.

I always drove past and finally decided to try this place out. This location is a little small but has great bakeries, coffee, and smoothies. I am so in love with their coconut mocha. Their coffee is pretty good and not overly strong and sweet. Fresh donuts are another choice, though my favorite is croissant. Staffs are nice and friendly. Good prices. I definitely recommend if you are in the area!

I did go back and advise them on what happened last time, and I believe it was the owner who helped the barista. I was thankful for that, and she told me she would just tell him no foam for my honey latte. It was delicious as well!

I miss the Escape when they were located behind the Kroger on Old Denton and Hebron but they seem to be doing just find in their Castle Hills digs. Stopped in to try the coffee. They were slammed and the staff was feeling the pressure. The coffee is self serve which I didn’t realize at first. So after some curt instructions, I was directed to the coffee and helped myself. Their large is not really all that large but the coffee made up for it… it was AWESOME. If you can be patient with the numerous young parents and their loud kids, it’s worth the hassle of waiting in line with the chaotic patrons. But you are in Castle Hills! Anywho, glad to see they still have the good stuff. I’m always on the hunt for good coffee in Carrollton. If you have a suggestion, I’m all ears!

Kinda small, but they have the best avocado smoothie I have ever tasted! Tapioca is not the best I’ve had but the smoothie makes up for it! Their croissant sandwiches are also delicious; I would recommend them if you’re looking for a on the go breakfast/lunch meal. They have punch cards for drinks!

Coming from Austin’s thriving coffee shop scene, every now and then I’ll try to find a coffee shop that is not Starbucks. The only reason why I go to Starbucks is because they’re everywhere and it’s convenient. I was at Escape Coffee and Donuts on a Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. to about 7 p.m. At first there weren’t that many people. Around 3 customer began trickling in that consisted of families, kids, and students. While the inside of the shop isn’t as spacious as many other places, it is a cozy environment. I wouldn’t recommend anyone who needs a chair and desk to work on to come here. There’s one large table, and other seating is kind are awkward for extended periods of work. The coconut mocha was something of a novelty. It was a little sweet for my taste but was still very enjoyable nevertheless. I also had an Americano. Can’t say I’m an expert at coffee tasting, so I’ll just say that I liked the taste. Prices here were very reasonable. I’ll definitely be going back some time to try their donuts.

My goal is to always find good coffee anywhere outside of Starbucks. I remember seeing this place quite a while back when searching for coffee places, but just couldn’t picture it’s location. It’s right in the middle of Castle Hills behind the town homes that face the lake. The place was very comfy, great seating, and the coffee was on point! I can’t wait to go back! I had a regular americano– great flavor. My husband had a coconut mocha– wow! That was incredible! A great place to go for a date or with the kiddos and then walk around the lake together on a beautiful day.

I have two words for you — coconut mocha latte. I don’t know where it came from or why but it is here and it is delicious. Escape doesn’t have a whole lot of seating available but there’s an outdoor area you can saunter on over to and enjoy your coffee. You can also peruse the shopping area and the lake right in front of Enchanted Hills — lots of scenery to satiate your eyes. They have a huge drink selection, baked goods, lunch items, and freshly made donuts. It’s definitely a busy place with people from the neighborhood going in and out constantly during the morning and afternoon times. It’s quaint, has great coffee(cough, cough coconut mocha) and is cozy. I’m dubbing this as my new study spot.

Coffe is not the best I have ever had,. but to be fair growing up in Italy gives you a very high standard for coffe that is difficult to be met in America. I do enjoy Arabic coffe and Cuban Coffe as well those would be my default options in the USA but s they do not offer either here, I have just digressed needlessly on this review, and I apologize though I will not take it back. The great thing about Escape café for me is the standouts they offer, that is to say their unique items such as their panini! Two in particular stand out one is the veggie, and the other is the pesto chicken they do a good job with making their Pesto! I like to combine the both for a slightly more expensive but very tasty chcken pesto panino with roasted mushrooms onions and peppers, this is my kind of lunch. There is also other unique items such as an Avocado bubble smoothie… They use real Avocado!!! I know it may sound like a terrible idea but it is actually a great idea! Kinda like when you first heard about sex… «The what goes in where!!! That can’t be right…» The avocado in a milkshake!!! YEs Yes just DO it youll love it baby You won’t regret it and trust me youll want more and more and more… It’s creamy it’s velvety, and its very sweet there must be a high addition of sugar to it but it works!!! I am not a huge donut fan so I cannot say much on those, but this is a fun hangout joint if you need to use wifi and yours is out for whatever reason. This is one of those spots I am glad to have in my neighborhood, but I have known people who come here from all over Carrollton and The Colony! Try it out!
