I only gave Rice Pot one star so I could get my review seen. If I could have given«no stars» I would have. Sit back, because I have a lot to say about this place. I used to love Rice Pot and we were loyal customers. Between eating in and delivery, we ate there often. I also had it delivered to my work many times and turned many of my coworkers on to it. Recently, I had become really disappointed in the food, as it just wasn’t up to par and a couple of times it was just down right bad. After a long day, I decided to give it another try tonight. My older daughter recently became a vegetarian, so I called and asked if they had vegetarian options like tofu. I was told yes they did have tofu that it could be substituted for an additional $ 1.00. I said that was great and that I had a large order to place so I would either call back or order it online. About 10 minutes later, I went online and placed a relatively large order of about $ 60.00 worth of food and tip. I ordered the Hunan choice and in the special instructions box for that dish I typed, «please make this with tofu, thank you.», since tofu was not on the list of proteins to choose from. The order was delivered in a timely fashion, however, the Hunan dish that was supposed to be made with tofu, was actually made with chicken and 4 pieces of tofu on top. My daughter was hungry and couldn’t eat, so I called the Rice Pot and told them what happened. The man I had originally spoke with was TERRIBLY rude and downright mean. He said that it was not his fault and would not correct the problem without me having to pay an additional $ 10 for it. On top of that, all of the other food was horrible too. I’m not the kind of person that jumps on social media and complains like this unless it’s REALLY bad. From the tofu incident, the way it was handled/how bad I was treated, and how awful my entire $ 60 order was, this experience was REALLYBAD. All I wanted was my daughter to get the dish we ordered with tofu. I should have complained the last few times I ordered from there but didn’t because I was truly hoping they would pull out of the slump and go back to being my favorite Asian food restaurant in the area. This time I just couldn’t let the opportunity to say something go down the drain… along with my money, the food itself, and the respect I have for the manager/owner for not doing the right thing by a loyal customer. Well, loyal no more, Rice Pot. This was your last chance. Good luck to those who choose this restaurant. I truly hope your experience is better than the last 4 or 5 bad ones we’ve had lately.

I am very picky with my Asian dishes and this place is awesome! I have tasted General Tso’s, sweet & sour chicken, bourbon chicken, the lo mein, and the fried rice– all are really good. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like here.

Mediocre rating for mediocre food. I ordered delivery from here last night, with not so high expectations, based on the reviews I saw. Was I not surprised. The speed of delivery was good. The food arrived within the promised time, and the food was still hot. I ordered the steamed chicken dumplings, which was very good. The ginger soy sauce was a perfect compliment to the dumplings. I also ordered the Mongolian Beef. The beef was thinly sliced and over cooked. The dish had white and green onions, the green onions were soggy, while the varying sized slices of white onion ranged from tender to raw. I don’t know how much oil was used to prepare the dish but it was very greasy. The one good thing I can say is the spice heat was good. Overall, I seriously doubt I will be ordering from here ever again.

This is the best Chinese food I have had in a very long time. I’m so picky and this place has everything. They’re the nicest people. Great service and the food is amazing. We’ve had shrimp and chicken fried rice– both fantastic. Nothing upsets me more than tiny shrimp and they were a good size and plentiful. We’ve enjoyed Pad Thai and General Tso’s chicken. We are regulars here and we will continue to come back. The people here remember us and greet us so kindly. They are always very thankful for our business and that is a great business model to have. Everything here is good. I highly recommend this place.

Not even worth one star. The food was HORRIBLE. The chicken was over cooked, the shrimp was too and rubbery. Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I want my money back.

Menu picture shows several pieces of broccoli with the Honey Sesame Chicken. Was given one piece. When I told the manager that I got several pieces last week he told me just one piece. The color picture on the menu is just for pretty. Cheap! By the way, the roaches in your ceiling light above the ordering station are gross. Never returning!

Our second time eating there. We order takeaway since we live nearby. Not going to be trying it a third time. My wife ordered sweet and sour pork and found the sauce to be to thin and flavorless. I ordered kung pao chicken, which was full of burnt and tough chiles and something gritty like sand, and the fried rice tasted stale and old. I know people do different kinds of hot and sour soup, but theirs is relentlessly spicy for a hot and sour, full of giant mushrooms, with a taste reminiscent of ketchup and chiles. It was lacking in the flavor you normally associate with hot and sour. Their dinner menu did not have any egg rolls on it, we had to special order them in person which is weird. We had eaten there once prior and not had such a significantly poor experience, but we’re once bitten twice shy about food where we get a stomach ache afterwards. I’m still kinda iffy on my chicken 12 hours later.

The employees are cheerful and the delivery is super fast but even though we have ordered several times the food is uneven and orders frequently wrong, and occasionally the food is tepid. The crab rangoons are overcooked, with not enough filling and therefore bland. The entrees are better. Delivery of duck sauce packets — it was expected but no, The spring rolls are good. There is ample quantity of food. I am wondering if the kitchen staff has a big turnover. There is hardly any other reason for why we can’t count on the food from one order to another.

I really don’t have anything to review, but zero stars is not an option. I went to this place last night, placed my order, and then after waiting for about 15mins. Two guys walk out of the kitchen & out of the entrance to the restaurant. The guy that took my order comes back and apologized and says that the cooks quit. I was baffled & a little annoyed that I had wasted my time sitting there. I had also paid with my card, so now my money won’t be refunded until probably Tuesday or Wednesday. Definitely DONOT waste your time or money going to this unprofessional environment!!!

What a great place to eat! It’s a little hard to locate because it is right off of 121, but I must say I was quite impressed with the food. I ate the Hunan Beef during lunch and it was very good. The Hunan sauce was very good and they didn’t skimp on the portions. Would definitely eat here again. Also the cashier looks just like Jack Black!

We ordered takeaway from this place once on a hungry night, while I was in Lewisville. Decided to order in. The food had zero flavor, I dont even recall all the different things we got but I do recall none of them tasted like anything. Pour MSG into it if you must have flavor for all I care,.but just get some kind of taste going.

Ew the orange chicken I got was not good. To make it worse, it came with sweet and sour sauce on the side, may I ask why? I mean, most foodie knows orange chicken is not authentic Chinese but everybody knows it doesn’t come with sweet and sour sauce. It’s not sweet and sour chicken! The orange sauce was more like a teriyaki orange sauce. It didn’t taste like orange chicken. I will order something else next time. Their crab Rangoon were just plain. No taste… bleh. I might give them another try one day when I’m desperate and lazy. The only good thing is they do delivery.

Here it goes The good for me is it is convenient to travel to. Once you make you order there is a seating area and a tv to view. Your food is prepared once you are order it(hot) Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. If you like it hot or must tell them They have drinks(no liquor) fountain or bottle. The food is actually good. The resturant is alway clean The bathrooms are clean as well The bad is i need one in my area The ugly that their isnt one well not as of today

Real good and pretty fast. Unusual place for a drive through but it works well. I had the General Tso’s chicken with brown rice. I almost broke it open in the car because it smelled so good. Food was still hot when I got back to my desk and a few of my coworkers came by and oooh’d over the smell. I may become a regular. Fast, cheap and pretty tasty.

Do NOT consult Google when looking for this place. It’ll lead you somewhere 3 miles away. I found out the hard way. OK, now that that’s out of the way. The Chinese food here is.well.not really Chinese food. I’m pretty sure you got that from the name of this place, but just in case you were wondering this is a Americanized Chinese place, which is fine. I love me some fake Chinese food from time to time. OK, more like every other day, but don’t tell my family! Rice Pot has a condensed menu compared to other like restaurants, but they have everything you’ll ever consider ordering. Come on now. I’ve never seen anyone order dishes like«Happy Family.» Really don’t know why other restaurants insist of keeping items like that on their menu. My go to dish is the Sesame Chicken. There’s not much batter so you actually taste the chicken. What a concept. I’m getting sick and tired of these so-called Chinese restaurants messing my favorite dish up by using more batter than the chicken itself. No es frio, yo. If you dine in during lunch hours(11am-3pm) you get a buck off your order of Sesame Chicken($ 5), Chicken Lo Mein($ 5) or Hunan Beef($ 6). You would think at this price that they would jip you on the food, but that’s not the case. I believe this is a family run business. Everyone behind the counter seemed so friendly to each other and they were very welcoming to me when I walked in. There are a lot of these type of «Chinese» restaurants in Lewisville, but this is the best one in my opinion. With the quality of food at the price there’s really no competition.

Went through the drive-thru today(didn’t realize they had one at first!). The service was great and the food was good for the price — probably the best priced Chinese food around. I got Pad Thai with chicken — was originally told it would be 5 – 10 minutes; was more like 5 min, but glad my food had not been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour before I ordered it. It’s close to work, so it’s somewhere I’ll definitely visit again.

What a great little place! It’s a family owned restaurant with a very welcoming staff. It’s an awesome place if you want quick Chinese that tastes a lot better than most Chinese restaurants. They deliver and there is also a drive through. I ordered the General Tso and the people around me ordered the pad Thai and Hunan Beef. All delicious! I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good Chinese at an affordable price in a CLEAN environment.

Good chinese food. This area was lacking a decent place other than Panda Express — this is it. Can;t beat the lunch special — $ 4.99 — $ 5.99 includes rice, large entrée, and spring roll. WHAT? Crazy. The side of fried rice that comes with the entrée is kind of pathetic, for fried rice — tiny bits of egg and a sliver of onion is all I ever find. I’m sure the entrée size fried rice is full of stuff, but expect disappointment if you get it as a side. General Tso’s is done well. The Sesame Chicken and Orange Peel Chicken were both on the sweet side, too much so for my tastes. Kung Pao is good, and SPICY. Mongolian wasn’t too bad, but too much veggies compared to the ratio of beef. Pretty typical of that dish though. geez, can you tell I eat here too much?
