My husband and I dined last night with Enocia. He ate the meat loaf with vegetables on the side and soup to start. I ate fried cod with vegetables and cornbread to start. We both drank hot water with lemons. Enocia scoffed when I asked for jam and didn’t bring it either time I asked her, but did nearly 10 mins later after my husband asked her and all the cornbreads were cold! She scoffed yet again when my husband asked for fresh cornbreads. We both asked for baked sweet potato without butter or sugar and when our food arrived with both I asked her if she could please bring potato plain her response was, «it only has cinnamon and sugar on it» and just stood there staring at me. I asked her to please bring a plain potato as we originally asked. At this point I contemplated walking out. My fried cod was super lightly breaded and tasted SUPER good, but Enocia never brought the ketchup I asked for while ordering. Since I didn’t want her coming back to the table I just decided to eat in peace without any. My husband and I talked about getting coffee and dessert, but decided to find some elsewhere since she did ask AND so we didn’t have to endure another minute with the bad-attituded waitress. She seemed to be mocking us when she set our check on the table and blandly mumbled, «it was a pleasure to serve you today» while staring straight at the wall. If you get sat with Enocia it is worth enduring for a second asking the uncomfortable request for a different server rather than having to endure an entire meal with her. To top it all off, when we went to pay for our meal there was an extra charge of $ 4.50 for soup. This was listed on the check as a soup that my husband did not order(chowder). We don’t mind paying for soup(as long as it’s one we ordered) but she put the wrong type of soup on our ticket AND told my husband that he could substitute a soup in place for one of his three sides. Sadly, when we told cashier about this mistake she had to call the manager who then had to have the server remove the incorrect item from the check. She walked up to us(in front of the manager) with a look you would expect to see in a horror movie, not your neighborhood Cracker Barrel! Rolling her eyes and shaking her head as she walked away, the manager offered a verbal apology for her behavior. We told him we weren’t surprised, since that was her attitude throughout our entire meal. I wish he would have done something, no ANYTHING, to make up for this horrible experience. While the food quality, temperature, price, and portion were all amazing, I wish that we could have enjoyed our first dinner in Lexington by having a nice server.

I’ve eaten here a several times while staying at the Fairfield Inn next door. The food is OK but the service is usually sub par. Most recently, the hostess seated us — we had asked for a high chair for our 2 yr old — and said the waiter would bring it, which is rather absurd. I ended up going and finding it myself. The previous time I was there, we ordered dinner and as our food was coming out they informed me they were out of what I had ordered(pot roast) and what I would like instead. Might have been nice to know this before the rest of my table’s food arrived. It’s convenience to the hotel is the only reason I eat there, but it’s starting to be more trouble than it’s worth.

Let me start by saying we love Cracker Barrel. And this particular location has a special place in our heart, but this was not the evening to visit. My wife and I had both had long days and barely anything to nothing to eat all day. We were starved, craving some breakfast and decided on Cracker Barrel. What could go wrong? Well, just about everything. Service was terrible. Our server didn’t come over to refill our drinks. It took forever to get our food, and when it did come out it was COLD! The gravy was hard, the grits were hard, the eggs were cold and the pancakes were cold! The plates were warm, so its as if our food was just sitting back there under a heat lamp. When we asked for the manager, he went over to another table, right near us and was getting ripped a new one by a family with three small kids. They had the same experience and he was indifferent about their experience. They ate their food because their kids could no longer wait to eat and mom made sure to let him have it. When he finally came over to our table, he was very soft-spoken and apologetic. He made sure we got a fresh and hot new meal and comped our meal. That was his saving grace. The food was fresh and hot when it came out, but I think we’ll go to the Cracker Barrel in Hamburg next time.

Food was great like normal. Our waiter was very slow. His name was Ricky. He was very nice. We waited way to long on every item he brought.

My family and I went to have breakfast there this morning and the service was horrible along with the food. From the lady who sat us down to the waitress. The only reason we stood is because we had our 2 daughters with us. The food was cold and the waitress was miserable. I did mention it to the manager who took half care of half of the bill. That’s the reason for the 2 stars. Being a restaurant around 3 hotels you would think that the service and food would be better.

This is the 2nd Cracker Barrel chain that I’ve had the pleasure to eat at. Veggies tasted fresh, not from can. Food and service were good. I wish we had CBs in CA.

This Cracker Barrel is on the ball. They always seat fast here at this location and have spot on friendly service. I don’t mind leaving smelling like smoke from the open fire at this place. This place has great southern home style food just like my mom use to make. The basket of biscuits and cornbread is really yummy. I would also suggest to ask for some apple butter for it. I think they make that apple butter with crack in it because I can’t stop eating it. They have great chicken and dumplings and chicken fried steak. They offer a lot of items on the side that most places do not. Hashbrown casserole, enough said. Please note, on Sundays this place is backed up like the Hover dam, but still worth the wait for a late breakfast brunch. If there is ever a wait while you are here, just sit back in a cane backed rocking chair and play some checkers on a rug. Enjoy the nice break before you partake in the yummy southern food you are going to be ordering.

Disappointing undercooked food and recovery. I have liked Cracker Barrel in the past so I was surprised by this and very disappointed. I ordered the pecan coated catfish filet and it was brought lukewarm and uncooked on the inside, obviously a frozen filet just barely baked. I sent it back and it arrived 15 minutes later with scorch marks from being over-baked. I tasted one bite and it was not pleasant, so I left it uneaten and ate 4 corn muffins. The waitress took that item off the ticket, but did not tell the manager and that was it. We teach customer service so I was waiting for him to drop by and visit and talk about what they could do to recover. I won’t be eating at another cracker barrel.

Generic and bland food, as always at Cracker Barrel. Our waitress Nadine was wonderful though.

Yum! Blackberry pancakes were phenomenal! I’ve never had their pancakes there but these ones definitely set the bar HIGH! Big fresh blackberries throughout, these suckers were definitely cooked in loads of butter which gave them their crispy browned appearance(and loads of flavor!!!) and the raspberry syrup was so thick and sweet it was like nectar from the gods. I tried(TRIED…and failed) to be good and ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and toast. Everything was perfectly prepared and cooked the way I asked — but I kept stealing my mom’s pancakes! Oops! When you’re there just do yourself a favor and don’t even look at the menu. Just order the blackberry pancakes!

Unlimited biscuits and cornbread upon request. We eat here a lot. The menu has a lot to choose from. The Sunday fried chicken special is better than KFCs secret recipe. Every once in a while I will get something cold but they’re always quick to correct it. I see the same staff there since I first started going and I’ve noticed they don’t have much of a staff turn around which usually shows an example of great management.

Food was fair as is any chain resturant. The service was the worst I’ve ever recieved. Server was on another planet. No eye contact, walked away half way through our order, wifes order was all messed up. Then he brings us 2 bills before we are even done with our meal. Spoke with management, they said thanks for the feedback and have a nice day. Be afraid.

Southern-style comfort food served fast, friendly and reasonably priced. Be aware on Sundays though, they tend to get very busy. I really enjoy their chicken and pork chop dishes. I always leave stuffed. Plus, they have dumplings! Very few other restaurants serve them, and none are as good as the Barrel’s. I really enjoy the old time country store they have at the front of the restaurant. Love the candy selection, very impressive.

I joined Unilocal solely for the purpose of writing a review about THIS Cracker Barrel. I normally love the restaurant and have know several people to work at one. However, this particular Cracker Barrel gave me the worst service I’ve EVER had(and I’m pretty forgiving having been a waitress myself). I ordered the chicken and dumplings platter, got partway through the chicken and dumplings and found a long black hair in it! I told the waitress, who apologized and went to get me another plate, but instead of bringing me an entire new meal, she only brought more chicken and dumplings. So I got angry and asked for a manager. The manager also apologzied saying he would credit us for the meal. Well the check arrived and we did NOT get credited for the meal. We tried to find the manager again, but got tired of waiting. I finally told my husband to pay it so we could just leave. I will forever boycott this restaurant with a passion. Thankfully there are two other Cracker Barrels in the area and their management and cleanliness seems to be MUCH better!

Oh Cracker Barrel, you are so quintessentially country cooking that my California heart longs, and perhaps clogs, for you in the many months between my visits. You are the first, the last, the only Cracker Barrel I have ever been to, but you are a destination stop for me every time I come to Lexington. What can I say? You lured me in with your sultry smell of fried chicken, and one bite of the pork chop had me swooning. Your waitresses always calls me darling, and your tabletop games kept me from counting the calories in my coming meal. I would, however, like to politely inform you that macaroni and cheese is not a vegetable, and ‘dumplins’ is really spelled with a ‘g.’ But who am I kidding? You faults all acknowledged, you are delicious nonetheless.
