Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lexington-Downtown/University

Your typical holiday inn. Not great but not crappy like a motel. WiFi was alright. Beds and rooms were clean. Breakfast was super cheap stuff but at least it was there.

Very pleased with my stay at this holiday inn express.
The room was spacious, I had a king suite, and it was like an apartment! Very clean and comfortable. Service was very friendly (that’s Lexington!) and the breakfast was decent for a hotel breakfast. Parking was free and plentiful. The location is great too, close to downtown (not walkable without comfortable shoes, but less than a 5 minute drive) and very close to UK.

Have stayed here several times, rooms are always clean and friendly staff are very helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location, a short walk to the University of Kentucky campus. Rooms are good size, comfortable beds and pillows. They also offer great rates for University of Kentucky.

Yep I would do it again. Is EXACTLY what to expect of a Holiday Inn Express.

Nice accommodations. Mostly friendly staff — except for the staff member who copped what came off as a holier than thou attitude when I asked about nearby options for an alcoholic beverage. The desk staff was way off when I asked how long taxi service usually takes. Life before Über… how horrible it could be, right?
Very annoyed that each day I hung up my towels to reuse and each day they gave me entirely new towels. Stop wasting paper and the marketing department’s time on pretending to care about sustainability when you obviously don’t actually follow the practices you claim.

Very clean, nice, good price, seemed recently updated. Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a great free breakfast and later checkout than most hotels. My only complaint and reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the wifi. They gave me a username and password but it automatically connected and didn’t require these and also didn’t work at all. Defined recommended and would stay again.

Solid place to stay in a growing college town market. Definitely has a great location; easy walk to UK for each of my meetings on campus. Hotel was in great shape, and they were planning to renovate again, which only signifies an attempt to make it even better. Friendly staff, great beds, and also a laundry center in house (clean and cheap) if you’re in the midst of a multi-​city travel swing.
The only downside: very limited parking availability. Especially with their renovation equipment in the back lot, you’ll want to arrive early in weekend for a chance to avoid parking down the street…

The ice machine on the 3^rd floor doesn’t always work. But then again, neither do you. Why do we hold ice machines to higher standards than people? It’s bad enough that we call it a machine. Why can’t we just leave it at that? Maybe sometimes it just doesn’t want to work. Let it be.
This place is walkable to downtown, but only if you think that 1.6 miles is walkable. Otherwise it is some other adjective that you feel more comfortable with. And you know what? Why don’t you write this review if you have such a problem with the adjectives I’m choosing?
Yeah. That’s what I thought. You can’t. Because I am alone with my computer right now. And you are somewhere in the future, reading this and wondering if you are reading the review of someone that you’re going to see on the news one day. It sounds like he has anger problems. He meaning me.

I heard the gym on the first floor was decent, but I didn’t actually go there so that could just be a big bag of lies. Or one lie. Without the bag. Basically it could be true or false and I don’t know. Why are you still reading this train wreck of a review I want my mommy.

Why 5 stars? Because my room had a freaking jacuzzi in it, you guys.

I loved this room, and it was relatively inexpensive as well. I have been traveling to Lexington for work a lot lately, and this is my favorite hotel experience yet.
Maybe I’m a simpleton, but I don’t need the bells and whistles of the Ritz-​Carlton. This Holiday Inn was everything I could ever ask for. Very nice, modern, and as I mentioned, a jacuzzi in my room!
I unfortunately didn’t figure out how to turn on the bubbles until the morning that I was checking out, but I’m pretty motivated to stay here again when I come back.

Great place to stay in Lexington. Close to the University and Keeneland!!! Becca at the front desk was awesome. She was very welcoming and provided us with great information, things to do and places to eat. Room was clean and bed was comfy. We will definitley return!

Very well managed and well cleaned rooms. Check in process was great. Stayed in whirlpool suite. Tub was huge. Do not hesitate to ask about anything as the staff can be helpful as much as they can. WIFI worked without any issues.

WiFi blows, my TV remote doesn’t work for volume or power, beds are a bit hard but it is clean and friendly-​ish.

Great on par Holiday Inn for the rooms, cleanliness, and amenities. I love the shower heads and breakfast at Holiday Inns and usually why I pick them. This one gets a 4^th star for the service! The staff was over the top friendly! Always polite and willing to talk, especially the morning crew! Great people to be around! Close to KU/​Medical Center with plenty of variety to eat close!

I stayed here for 2 weeks in November 2012 while my husband was at UK Chandler Hospital. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, convenient and very close to the hospital. For those of you that may need an extended stay, ask if there is a long term rate during the time period you are there. They book up when the horse races are running but will accommodate if possible.

You have to drive downtown, but it’s all close and car-​friendly. I will stay here again next time I’m in Lexington.

The friendly staff is great and the location is fairly new, so bright, shiny and clean. But lousy Wi-​Fi seems to be a requirement for all of the Holiday Inn Express in Lexington. And I’ve been in all of them. As a business traveler, solid internet access is a must and therefore I have to give this property three stars. There’s a Starbucks and several decent restaurants nearby, but it’s worth the driving adventure to sample some of Lexington’s better restaurants. Tip: Getting into the hotel is easy, but getting out without a stop light on Virginia can be difficult. To avoid this, turn left out of the hotel parking lot and jog over to Broadway.

Chain hotels are not all the same. This is a good one. We hesitated about stopping here because our last Holiday Inn Express stop landed us in a damp & dreary room. Here, we had a pleasant room with light. When we saw the indoor pool & hot tub were empty, we decided to swim & were better for it. The breakfast area was spacious — not a given for this chain.

Very nice hotel. Looks nice on the outside and the interior is new as well. The front desk receptionist, Lacy, was very courteous, professional, and welcoming. She even checked on us later on to ensure everything was okay with our room.
The room had a nice décor. It seems to be a very new establishment so the furniture was up-​to-​date, the beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious.
Its really hard to describe in words I’ll try taking a few pictures. I am really picky of where I stay and we will definately be coming back here as it is our midpoint for our trip to the in-​laws.
