If you want to get a quick good beer downtown then this is the place.
Friendly Service and the bartender is always very knowledgeable on every beer on tap. They have a great selection as well. They have plenty of local beers and a few beers you haven’t tried.
If you get hungry you can even get an okay sandwich or some snack in the connected store.
(Also great if you want to avoid the younger crowds.)

Awesome taproom (with awesome deli/​market attached) in the heart of beautiful downtown Lexington! Great service & good selection of draft beers & of course-​bourbon!

This is my favorite, low key, downtown taproom… not to be confused with your average bar. Dan is usually the bar tender in charge and is top notch.
This space used to be a wine bar, before the re-​phase of Shorty’s Urban Grocery, and then the same genius who owns Parlay Social bought the space. The urban grocery was left the same, name and all, but the rarely used wine bar space was turned into a taproom. Not just any taproom, but the kind of taproom that has something for everyone. Not to steer too far from it’s roots, there is even wine… red and white wines are on tap, literally on tap along with at least 20 beers on tap too. They also have bourbons, and cocktails.
It’s within walking distance of so many downtown hotspots and restaurants. You can order from Shorty’s deli before 6pm if you’re not in the downtown restaurant sort of mood.

Wow and downtown Lexington just keeps getting better! Have you been to the New Shorty’s Tap Room? Well I have and you need to get over there as I am pretty sure it is beer o’clock!
They have a rotating plethora of what looks to be close to 25 taps or so and then dozens more of bottled beer. If you cannot find something you like — just stop drinking and switch to bourbon ’cause they have that too.
The great cold beer choices paired with their blue plate specials… what more can you want. A giant chalk board lists their current offerings (they also list them on their website). Friendly bartender’s, and a clean comfortable bar area makes this an easy choice if you are in the area (or a destination!).
I think I read you can reserve the tap room for private functions too. Don’t forget to head next door to their urban market for deli, produce or other items.
