I have found Jim and Linda to be very knowledgeable about computers and viruses. They are very proactive on helping keep your computer virus free, as well as fixing it when you do get a virus. I couldn’t ask for better computer experts! They are fast and efficient! I will always bring my computers to them for repairs!

I write this with hope that the owner will ask for help in shaping the business he envisions. Houston Computers is near my home so in the last 6 or 7 years, I’ve taken two laptops there for repair. The first was my own, virus laden machine gasping for life. I knew it was on it’s last leg and I just hoped they’d be able to save the data from the hard drive. Unfortunately, they weren’t. Well, that sucked. Some six years later, my daughter’s laptop has some weird thing going on where the power cord isn’t charging it. We bought a new cord — no help. We took it to Houston Computers. The atmosphere is a bit frenetic. The owner, Jim, and his wife, Carol are as nice as you’d ever hope two people would be but on both occasions, my experience seemed to fluster them. Most recently, they were pretty busy with a couple people in the shop, and the phone ringing steadily. They seemed to lack a clear process to get the information they need from new customers and the computers people bring in, and give status over the phone. For me, Jim figured he had the problem figured out and promised to let me know the next day if he had the part. Jim called the next day as promised and he did have the part — yay, it’ll only take a day to install. Something happened though I’m still not clear on. Over the next day or so, he ended up not having the part. Unfortunately, now we’d have to order the part. So we did — or Jim did. Several days went by and the day it’s supposed to be fixed arrived. I called Jim for status on the laptop on the way home from work since I hadn’t heard from him. He was putting it back together. He said he’d call me back. Meanwhile, my fiancé called around the same time and he told her the new part didn’t fix the problem. He’d have to throw in the towel. So in two attempts to give them business, they weren’t able to fix the trouble either time. They’re obviously fixing computers, they’ve been in business for a lot of years. Given the unorganized experienced and their success rate, I really don’t have any choice but to give a less than great rating.
