Pizza ranch has pretty good chicken and ice cream and that is about all. The pizza is sub par, the salad bar with the exception of the lettuce all comes from a can. As a buffet and the need to feed many people this place is a go to. But I’ve never really understood why. When we showed up to this particular location the buffet was out of almost everything and we had 21 people with us. Waiting on buffet tables to be filled is tedious and impossible when half are hungry kids. The staff were great, but not one«is there a pizza you like us to make first» which is one of their signature advertising ploys. I’ll be back it’s a really to good way to feed kids in a hurry. However I won’t enjoy it.

I wouldn’t trust this restaurant location because a convicted felon, Will Williams is the manager. I am his previous landlord and I had to evict him because the house was a pig sty and he wouldn’t pay his rent. I can’t imagine he would run that pizza place any better.

Pizza is ok. Selection is good. I love the apple pie pizza. Ice cream is good. Fried chicken is way too greasy. Other items over-salted. They keep the tables clean and they’re friendly enough.

Good pizza buffet. Can order any pizza you want on the buffet and will bring to your table first before putting out on the buffet. Love their fried chicken. Best soft serve ice cream.

I took my family in the other day. I have been to Pizza Ranch before and it was good, now it seems like it is on a steady decline the past few times we’ve been. The pizza was scarce and very dry, when the restaurant is named Pizza Ranch they should probably have that part of the menu under control. The other day will be the last trip for us for awhile or at least until I hear they have improved back to how they were when they first moved into the Kansas City area.

One star is extremely generous for this sad excuse of a restaurant. The Staff: With the exception of the cashier, they were all completely unprofessional. One staff member was overheard complaining about a customer that«clearly couldn’t take care of her kids» because there was a significant mess on the floor after they left. But it wasn’t just that table… the entire dining room was a mess and there was no sense of urgency to clean it up. It was extremely uncomfortable. Weird Hours: This was only my second attempt to give Pizza Ranch a chance. The last time was when they were first opened, so I was unaware that this location shuts its buffet down at 2pm. My family member and I arrived at about 1:45 and were not informed that the buffet would be closed in 15 minutes. They spouted the classic«Let us know if there’s something you want that’s not on the buffet and we’ll make it for you.» This proved to be a false statement. The Food: There were roughly 5 choices of pizza, that did not appear to be very fresh, and no chicken, which is allegedly their signature item. When we asked for a pepperoni pizza and some chicken, the staff member rolled her eyes and said it would take 10 minutes. Only then did she say the buffet was shut down from 2 – 4. We continued with our meal with the little food that was available. The pizza and chicken we asked for never arrived. As we were leaving, we expressed our concerns and dissatisfaction to an older female staff member. She immediately became defensive, argumentative, and rude. Clearly to her, a messy restaurant floor and talking back to customers is ok. Bottom Line: I will never go back to Pizza Ranch. The food was too expensive for the quality that we received. The lack of cleanliness was horrible and the unprofessionalism was astounding. Your money will be better spent elsewhere.

I feel two stars may be generous. For a buffet, the options were very small. Only about 6 – 8 selections of pizza. You can tell most of the dough is frozen as it is chewy & difficult to cut. I did have one slice of a hamburger that must have used fresh dough because it was light, buttery & a crisp bottom. The chicken looked nasty & burnt but upon actual tasting it was moist & flavorful. Salad bar is also a bit sparse. It was $ 8.99 plus more for drinks. For $ 23 I could have gotten a large or multiple large pizzas of quality fresh ingredients. I would not offer to go back, only under duress. I would feel more ok about spending five bucks. They really should invest in good ingredients to keep consistent revenue up.

For the price and the type of place this is(pizza buffet) it’s pretty good. The environment is very family friendly and everywhere we went a staff member asked us about our meal. At one point a young kid was putting tomatoes away at the salad bar and asked if I wanted any on my plate. The highlight of Pizza Ranch is their fried chicken, it’s great! I don’t think you can get better service anywhere at this price point.

Bottom Line Up Front: Clean dining area. Serves fried chicken. Decent selection of pizza’s. Waffle fries are really good. So, nothing really special about this place. The restaurant is fairly new and the dining area is clean which is a plus — not run down like a Cici’s. We went for dinner on Sunday and it was $ 9 per person with no beverage. Expensive IMO. The pizza selection was decent, about 6 – 8 different pizza’s to choose from at any given time. There were times where there weren’t many slices left to choose from which was kind of annoying. They also had an area with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, gravy, waffle fries, and a few other items. The chicken was not bad, the skin was crispy and the meat tasted fresh. The best thing I had there was the waffle fries, yup, the waffle fries, haha. Oh, and there is a salad bar… which I always find funny at a pizza buffet. It had the normal toppings you’ll find anywhere but no spinach? wth? They didn’t even have a spinach pizza… come on! As for the quality of the pizza, they all tasted okay, after a few trips back to the buffet line they all tasted the same to me. Same quality as Cici’s, which is not bad or good — except Cici’s is cheaper. But, Pizza Ranch has fried chicken. So, it really depends on whether you’re looking for variety or just pizza. The layout of the buffet line was a bit awkward. Would have made more sense if the pizza buffet was longer and/or larger than the fried chicken buffet area. Its called Pizza Ranch, right? Pizza should be their main item; having a larger selection available would have been nice. I wanted one of the cheesecake desserts but they ran out and they never brought fresh ones out, very disappointed about that. I’ll probably never come back here again, unless Cici’s and Pizza Street closes. Even then I might just get Digiorno. If for some reason you are really really craving fried chicken AND pizza, come here. If one or the other… there are better places out there.

I’m really sorry! I used to love this place! I have good things to say… when and if pizza is provided, it’s awesome! They do a good job on their food. However, big HOWEVER, their staff lacks professionalism and DESIRETOWORK! If you dare step foot in this restaurant, make sure it’s not within an hour of closing. And they have several closing times per day, so make sure you call ahead and see if they are actually interested in having customers. We arrived around 8:15 p.m. and they had«SHUTDOWN» 95% of the restaurant. They close at 9. I figured for a buffet, you should understand that it might not have 20 kinds of pizza at 8:15, but they are always happy to make your desired pizza. So we had them make ours special… TOHEARTHEHUFFANDPUFF of DISAPPOINT that we wanted«Buffet Your Way» was really sad to me. We paid almost $ 25 for two people to eat, they should have just told us to go elsewhere. Later, they cheerfully brought out our pizza, but guys… you have to train your front end staff and bus staff to be pleasant, and HAPPYTOBETHERE! I’ve never seen a group of people who didn’t want to work so much as these people! Cell phones in the back pocket… plates stacking up all over, and eyes rolling as much as possible. We live in a strange time… people are trying to make ends meet financially and there isn’t always $ 25 available to eat pizza. Secondly, there are always people looking for work, even part time, even minimum wage. Why hire people that don’t want to be there!!! SHOWUP and expect to be on your best behavior for the entire shift, or go home! Frankly, we will NEVER drive to Liberty to go to this location again. You lost a very loyal customer.

I honestly hate to write negative reviews but this is the single least pleasant Pizza Ranch I have ever visited. First off, prices are significantly higher than any other Pizza Ranch I have visited. Granted, others I have visited are in Iowa but this one is at least two dollars higher. When paying, never an offer of a custom pizza for the buffet and you. Just a blank stare and a glass shoved in your hand. As this was noon during a typical«school» day, it wasn’t your average teenage apathy at work. Once at the buffet, very little was on it and as soon as pizzas disappeared almost as fast as they came out. Generally, the pizzas were over cooked or otherwise just not that great. Also, there was little variety in what was placed on the bar. The specialties Pizza Ranch prides themselves on(and rightly so!) were all absent. Fried chicken also was fast to disappeared into the either. I guess I can say the salad bar remained well stocked :) I guess the final thing was that the servers were most unpleasant and actually argued with each other on the floor by the buffet. A well dressed person that I assumed was the manager just stood their blissfully ignorant to the wold. I very rarely post a negative review but this Pizza Ranch deserves it. The conditions I described above happened on both of my visits. I will not be returning. Very sad too as I love Pizza Ranch.

Very expensive for what you get. The design of the restaurant makes it hard to move around during business times. The pizza selection was pretty small — only six different pizzas. Sure, they have other stuff, but for the overall value for my family, it just isn’t worth it. Several of the pizzas I tried had crust that felt and tasted like cheap frozen pizza. Toppings were pretty good, but the pepperoni was horribly greasy — I can understand a little, but you could do a lube job on your car with one piece. The other entrée items were disappointing as well. The Mac and Cheese was pretty much Kraft out of the box, the chicken was dry and tasteless, and the rest of the items were almost always empty. I contacted Pizza Ranch’s corporate about my disappointing experience, and never received a response.

Pizza Bar Baby! Pizza. — Prices are $ 11 per adult which just makes it jump to the next Unilocal price level. Its a good price for the drinks and food you get. — Really this is a nice clean, casual place with plenty of seating. They get folks in quickly by having someone greet you and make you wait for a table to be cleaned. The day I was there the line was short, so we got our table fast. — The pizza bar has a good selection, but if you don’t find what you want, just ask a worker standing up there. They will take your ‘order’, give you a plastic number(which you put on your table), and when the pizza is done, they come to you and offer you first pick of the slices. This is amazingly nice! — Fried chicken, mac-n-cheese and potatoes are on the other section. I was surprised… chicken at a pizza place?!? But this is really good chicken. Moist and full of flavor. Good stuff! — The 3rd bar is all salad. Not a great selection, but all of the basics you would expect. Personally… I skipped this because I wanted more pizza! — Before you leave make sure to have a small bit of ice cream and warm apple strudel pizza. Nice touch to the end of the meal. — What made me ding a star from this place is the constant playing of religious music. I go to church for that, not a pizza joint. Personally I don’t like the music and it tainted an otherwise great experience. Would I go back… I would have to really want pizza before I would.

I didn’t go into this experience expectingelevated cuisine, so the food at Pizza Ranch was on par with a franchised pizza buffet. A step above Cici’s but no where as good as Pyramid Pizza in Lawrence. The fare was pretty standard with a variety of pizza and a salad bar complete with iceberg lettuce, cut carrots and lots of ranch dressing and don’t forget the large spread of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies sides. This seemed like the oddest combination but I guess it works for them, though the fried chicken is quite dry and greasy. At ~$ 9.25 for lunch, the price it much steeper than most pizza buffets and it definitely wasn’t worth that for the quality of food available. Also, sampling the mini pizzas at ~$ 3 with one topping left our friend hungry as each pizza is roughly the size of a single slice of pizza. Overall, I hate be a downer, but I would only recommend the buffet to someone look for huge quantity over quality…

I know quite a few people who are very excited about Pizza Ranch being here in KC. We went on a recent Sunday after church(VERY crowded) but we got a seat fairly quickly. It was actually pleasantly surprising how quickly they moved people. …Done this before have ya? Well, I must say that the food is a resounding mediocre. I think Pizza Street has better tasting pizza. It’s not a slam. I like pizza street. What? The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and veggie are a weird combo to serve with pizza. I really can’t get over how odd it seems to me. Let’s ponder it for a moment… That’s long enough. It’s not going to get less weird. The chicken was okay. It’s not Stroud’s or homemade. It better than KFC. I don’t get the devotion some people have shown this chicken. The potatoes tasted like instant. Long story short(too late), I like supporting Christian business so I’d eat there again. Would I pick it if it were up to me? Well, no, but that doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t love it and become a Pizza Ranch chicken devotee yourself.

Okay here is my disclaimer. I’m somewhat a germaphobe. So I’m not huge fan of buffets! They deliver, dine in or carry out! If you are concerned with your diet they do have gluten free pizza! That being said it wasn’t bad. Pretty crowded inside(week night) but no wait! Buffet is kinda pricey for a family but kids eat free on Tuesdays. If you want a pizza you don’t see, the Ranch will make one to order and bring you the first slice(s). Just ask. There are a ton of options: thin crust, original, thick. Fried chicken, buffalo chicken, dessert pizza & huge salad bar. The best thing here is the fried chicken(MUSTTRY), it’s fresh, crispy skin, moist ! The best crust is the original when it comes to pizza. If you dine in go early! I prefer to order to go! The food is always made fresh & just pull up to drive thru to pick up! They also have specials on pizzas & combo packs(pizza & chicken) Very friendly helpful staff!

Do not come here if you care at all for your health. Every single thing here is covered in a thick, mysterious layer of grease. I do not understand or know why there is so much BBQ chicken, fried chicken and stuffing and mashed potatoes w gravy at Pizza Ranch. Why you would pair this with pizza? If you hate kids, do not come to Pizza Ranch. There seems to be a secret cloning machine here. The children run around like nutsos… where are their parents? The food is pretty good, though. i do like grease. Didn’t have any of the salad bar though– come on. Give this place a go! Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you that you would be filled with regret soon after ;)

We went to Pizza Ranch on Tuesday because kids eat free with an adult dinner. There was a line out the door but it moved fast and only waited about 10 minutes. Cost was $ 11 for adults which is high compared to other pizza buffets. The restaurant is new so the décor was nice and clean. There are three buffet islands; one with pizza, one with a salad bar and one with misc hot food. The misc hot food included mac n cheese, fried chicken, bbq chicken, a perpetually empty container of buffalo chicken, mashed potatoes and some other items I didn’t really pay attention to. As far as the food goes, it was mediocre at best. The pizza crust looked like it was frozen. The selection of pizza was poor and they really all looked the same. The flavor of the pizza and texture of the crust reminded me of grocery frozen pizza. Really not appetizing. The chicken was fresh and hot. The mac n cheese was more like cheese noodle soup, right out of a can. There was a large assortment of drinks and also a dessert table with a few dessert pizzas and ice cream. My wife liked the buffet and the kids didn’t eat the pizza and only ate the mac n cheese and ice cream. I’m sure if given the choice, the kids would pick other buffets instead of Pizza Ranch. Overall, with the pizza being so blah, I just can’t give a good review. Even the«extras» did not meet my fulfill usual requirement for a good buffet(fried chicken and mac n cheese). I’m sure my wife will try to drag me back but if she does, I will walk to IHOP.
