I have had the worst experience with Sears both for the repair of my dishwasher(which has now been repaired over 6 times in 2 years, always the same part) but for the delivery of the new washing machine I ordered. The washing machine was promised for Friday 5⁄24 between the hours of 9−1pm. Unfortunately, I was given two conflicting reports as to why it could not be delivered that day — the truck broke down, the barge carrying the machine hadn’t arrived — turns out BOTH were false or LIES. Another delivery was scheduled for today, Saturday 5⁄25 between 9 – 11:30AM. As of 2:15pm today, not only do I not have my washing machine, but I can’t get anyone to tell me where it or the truck delivering it is! We have requested a Supervisor to help sort out this mess and both times have been left on hold for over 20 minutes and then told that the Supervisor would call us back — again ALL lies as no one returns ANY call. Sears has practiced BAD customer service on the island of Kauai for some time now and it is no wonder they are closing their store in Kukui Grove. I will NEVERAGAIN purchase an appliance from this entity and will be sure and tell all that I know and meet that Sears is not a trustworthy company. I just cancelled my washing machine delivery. They just informed me that they couldn’t deliver the product until 6⁄1 which means they were lying the whole time. This is certainly no way to conduct business. So, I reordered the same machine from Home Depot with a delivery of 5⁄30th. I would encourage SEARS to take a long hard look at how they operate their business if they expect to have repeat customers.

The salesmen in the Appliance Department are only interested in a sale. Go there with a problem with an order and they don’t care because they made their money already. No help, no service and a poor reflection of the Aloha spirit on Kauai.

You know how in the Barbie world things are similar to how they are in real life only on a pygmy, scaled down version? This Sears is like that. I thought it was some kind of joke when I walked into one side(there are two buildings that contain Sears) that contained the appliances and tools and, after walking into the entrance of what is apparently a mishmash of electronics/housewares/clothing/baby, into the other side because there was SOLITTLE to be found. I don’t even know how you can call this a Sears! I was stunned. There are no «departments». It’s like a run-on sentence only shorter. Don’t expect to find what you are looking for here. I came for men’s work boots, which seems like a reasonable expectation of a Sears. I was so very wrong. The minute selection I found were merely leftovers from the holidays as explained to me by one of the few sales associates haunting this ghost town. The only reason this place gets an extra star from me is that their baby department actually had a few things I want so I will purchase them here instead of buying online. Otherwise, I would suggest steering clear of Sears for anything other than tools.
