Nice people. Nice shave ice texture. Small portion size($ 3.50 for one size fits all + ice cream). Good flavors. Generous syrup on ice, maybe too much. I think I’d go back, if I was desperate for a shave ice on a Monday between 3 and 6, since that appears to be the only time they’re operating.

Mmmm… liked Masa’s more than I liked Jojo’s because when it comes to shave ice, I like mine refreshing without too many complex textures and flavors overwhelming my senses. I loved the fact that they use specially filtered water for their powdery soft shave ice and that the prices are very reasonable. I got a snow cap on mine and it was just perfect. Bring your cash! I had to bum some off of my friend and almost missed out on the yumminess!

Are you guys crazy!!? The wife and I just went to Masa’s today and lemme tell you, it was gawd awful! The syrups used tasted like crap! There was some sort of really after taste, just like the taste left in my mouth from Shave Ice Paradise in Hanalei. Only difference between these two is that the girl in Hanalei was very rude and the girl at Masa’s was very nice. If if you want a sucky, after taste, film coating left in your mouth go to Masa’s or Shave Ice Paradise. If you want a fresh, great tasting shave ice that has home made syrups go to «Da Best Shave ice» its a big yellow trailer located in the farmers market on the left side of the road right before Anahola if you’re coming from Lihue

This is by far the best shave ice ever. We stumble upon it at the Farmer’s Market near K-Mart in Lihue on Monday. All other days you can find them at Nawiliwili Beach Park in the afternoon. Their ice is shaved real fine, and their syrups are yummiful! We make it a point to stop at their truck every chance we get.

Located just off the highway next to Nawiliwili Beach Park, Masa’s wagon is there weekends and weekday afternoons after 2pm except Monday. Not the most extensive flavor selections, but the service is fast and the prices affordable. This family operation is always friendly, clean and efficient. An extra 50 cents gets you ice cream, mochi balls, or snow cap topping. Very refreshing on a hot and humid day.

This is definitely the place to get the finest shave ice! Huge portion and great prices. Get it with or without ice cream, snow cap(cream drizzled on top), or mochi balls… all yummy additions. We were surprised how huge it was. They have 2 sizes and lots of great flavors. I got Orange Cream flavor which i never had before, and it was yummy. I never had this kind of finely shaved ice before… and that’s what REAL Hawaiian shave ice is all about! Highly recommended to locals and visitors alike… you will love it!

This truck was newer(like 2 – 3 years old) very clean and when I came by, it was a mom and daughter operation. I thought the shaved ice was very good and I thought the service was excellent. Now, keep in mind that we were the only people at the truck and that it was parked off a main street with the only signage to it was an «A» sign on the main highway pointing to a small street. But if I were to bump into them again, and I wanted a shaved ice, I’d go here.

We caught up with the truck in Nawiliwili Park. They had a sign on the highway(51) with an arrow pointing to the truck. The coconut lacked flavor, but the other flavors — lilikoi, strawberry and guava were pretty good. They were a bit conservative on the syrup, so if you like a less sweet shave ice(if there’s such a thing), you’ll probably enjoy the shave ice from Masa’s.

What a great find! I stumbled into Masa’s just 20 minutes after a really, really disappointing shave ice at Shaka Shave Ice(just 200 yards away). So, naturally, I had myself a second bowl, with ice cream to be sure. Awesome! This was the most powdery-fine shave ice I had on this trip, hands-down, anywhere on the island from Hanalei to Waimea. Ice cream was really flavorful. Great prices! Only ding is that the cute-but-awkward plastic bowls make it hard to eat the shave ice when you also get ice cream(they’re too shallow). But that wasn’t worth a star. Last week, the Masa’s Shave Ice van/truck/bus was parked at the Nawiliwili Harbor, on Waapa Rd next to Nawiliwili County Park. I think you can find it near the Kmart at other times – like when the farmer’s market is going on. This is a great addition to lihue shave ice, especially since Halo Halo’s hours are so spotty.

We stumbled upon the Masa’s Shave Ice vehicle at the Nawiliwili Harbor, specifically on Waapa Rd along Nawiliwili County Park midday on a Friday. Their shave ice was great. They kept their blade sharp so the pieces of ice were very fine. The amount of syrup was just right and the ice cream was great. Prices were very reasonable and of the many different shave ice stands we visited this was our second favorite, with Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice on Maui being the best. I would definitely go back to Masa’s if I could find the truck again. Best shave ice on Kauai.

This was the first ever«REAL» Hawaiian Shave Ice I have ever had. I have no idea why on all of the other trips I have taken before, I never got a shave ice. I think it’s because the ones I ever had on the Mainland were like eating chunks of ice where the syrup just drains to the bottom and I assumed that’s how they all were. Little did I know that the REAL shave ice, like the kind you can get at Masa’s, is light, fluffly and almost creamy and the syrup doesn’t all just sink to the bottom. It seems that the only place you can find these guys is on Monday’s at the Sunshine Market in Lihue at 3pm. We went to other Sunshine Market’s around the island throughout the week, but they weren’t there. Fantastic little setup these guys have and lots of flavors. They’ll even add ice cream at the bottom if you want. Can’t wait to get back to Kaua’i and have more Masa’s Shave Ice!

So I heard about this shave ice shop from a friend of mine. She told me that it’s located being the K-Mart in Lihue and although it’s only open during the farmer’s market on Monday’s I wish it were open everyday. This place has the best shave ice on the island, with more than a dozen flavors to choose from and your choice of ice cream and/or snow cone($.50 more) to top it off. What’s cool too is that the business operates out of one of those little customized buses, it was a relief to find this place on a really hot, humid summer day. Plus, the service is really friendly.
