The food was good and authentic, especially since the menu changes daily. So that means more options throughout the week. Very friendly service and friendly faces. Has a very warm and home like feeling making anyone feel comfortable here. I enjoyed the food tremendously and look forward to coming back here sometime. I love their love for their Lord and Savior for the Bible says, «Matthew 10:32−33 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.» I am One happy Customer. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Reasonable pricing for quantity given. Got the large bento box and couldn’t finish it! Service was friendly & even let me sample one of the menu items before purchasing. Their fried chicken was soooo delicious! Would definitely go again & recommend others to grab a plate lunch from them while in Lihue.

We were looking for a good place to pick up some bentos to take on the plane, and found this place on Unilocal. The restaurant appears to be owned by a Christian family, as they were playing Christian music in their restaurant. Very friendly and helpful customer service. We told the lady that we wanted to get some bentos to take on the plane, and she put them in a to-go box and wrapped them up in cellophane wrap. We got 2 of the box lunches, which were $ 5 each, and it came with 2 musubi’s, 1 chicken, 1 shrimp, 1 Teri beef, 1 luncheon meat & namasu. What a deal! The food itself was okay — the chicken was the best. The shrimp had a little too much batter on it and not enough shrimp. The meal itself served its purpose on the plane.

I like coming here for a quick lunch. Service is quick and efficient. Friendly staff. Food is great and they always have a good selection. Had the one choice plate today, with chicken with long rice. But I think the girl forgot the veggie tempura that’s supposed to come with it… but it’s ok, I was stuffed and satisfied.

Food was cold, greasy and not very flavorful. I wouldn’t recommend stopping here. Staff were really nice though.

Visiting from Oahu, and I must say I thought the food was ok, just mediocre. I’m only giving two stars because the Uncle was very friendly. But I got the teriyaki chicken, which didn’t taste like teriyaki or shou it was weird. Also had the fried shrimp more bread then shirmp. Also my husband’s spicy chicken was crazy cold! The names was tasty, but other then that I would just go to L&L at least it will be hot! Gross

First time, delicious food, tremendous value. Had lots of tasty choices, I had three meat choices along with brown rice and a cabbage salad, lightly dressed. Everything top rate. Friendly and engaging owners and staff. Very clean and organized, great quotes and Bible verses on the walls which leads one to contemplate life, we all have much to be thankful for.

Not sure what people are so excited about. These reviews fail to mention the obscene Christian agenda that bombards you the moment you look through the windows. Paintings and bible quotes all over the walls and Jesus music assaulting your ears. I guess live and let live, but it was definitely uncomfortable. Additionally, the food didn’t even look appealing; it all looked overcooked and swallowed in creamy sauce. Glad I went to l and l instead.

Parking is easily found all over the shopping mall. They have lots of food set out for you to oogle and want. It is pretty well priced for the amount of food that you get. I would go when it is busy since that is probably when they have new batches of food out. I went during a slower time and some of my chicken was warm/coldish. But if you are looking for something quick that is not fast food, then this is a good alternative.

Good prices for the servings. Great service. Great lunch place. There’s tables to sit inside or you can take your food to the big eating area in the middle of the mall. They do small bentos and one choice, two choice, three choice plate lunches. A variety of bottled drinks. They take cash or credit.

Visiting from Cali, found this place on Unilocal and Wow, glad I found it. Great service and even greater food. The fiancé and I got a variety of menu items and it all tastes great. There’s an L&L across the way yet I’m glad we went here instead! Thanks

Looking for a good lunch plate with reasonable prices in Kauai? Look no further! This place is tucked inside the mall near the food court. My husband and I both got a 2 item plate and loved every bite. I especially liked the mochiko chicken!

Looking for ono plate lunch on Kauai? Pick up one at Sone’s! So, it’s located in a mall across from an arcade and McDonalds. Did that deter me from giving it 5 stars?! No. It was that good. Go there, get a plate lunch and take it to whatever your idea of a picturesque setting should be. My picks are lemon shoyu chicken, miso shoyu chicken and Korean fried chicken. Yeah, I had a thing for their chicken. For their fried chicken, they include the skin deep fried to perfection! Don’t you dare say you’d throw that part away! I was born on Kauai, but visiting from Los Angeles so good fried chicken skin consumption had been low for a while. You are not eating real plate lunch unless something is bound to be bad for your cholesterol. However, the food at Sone’s isn’t all fried bad goodness. You can for sure find some healthier options and of course receive some island hospitality to leave you with a lot of aloha in your soul.

Filipino, Hawaiian, Chinese, Japanese fusion fast food with a large variety of options. The menu changes everyday. The food is well seasoned and the service is fast. I really enjoyed the turkey tail adobo(which is a spin-off of Filipino chicken adobo). The spare ribs were also tasty although the meat can be more tender. The price for Hawaii is also very cheap including Box lunches small $ 5, Large $ 8.45, Deluxe $ 8.95. 1 choice $ 7.95, 2 choice $ 8.35, 3 choice $ 8.60. The portions are gigantic. Can probably share a 2 choice option between 2 ppl.

Great place for local food. Found it by accident, but it is one of the only restaurants I talk about when I get home. Have eaten here each time I come to the Kauai. First place we stop and the last place too. JW

I was wandering around Kukui Grove looking for something to eat and came across Sone’s. I decided to get their Deluxe Lunch Box and man its HUGE. 2– Musubi, Garlic Chicken, Shrimp tempura, Fish tempura, Hot dog, Teri steak, Mac salad, Namasu, and Long rice. Lots of good food for a great price. Highly recommend trying it out.
