The loco moco was meh, but hubby liked his. Although he said it was nothing to write home about. Service was prompt and cordial, but definitely not exceptional. Dude was a little distracted, I think. The music(if you can call it that) when we walked in was horrid! However, it mellowed to something more amenable. All in all, it wasn’t the worst or the best place we’ve ever eaten, but it did the job…

Okay, you may THINK you’ve had the best clam chowder in your life. You may even KNOW it, in the same way you knew there was a monster in your closet no matter what your mom said. Well, just like with the monster(I hope), you’re wrong. This clam chowder deserves odes, far beyond my ability to compose or create. Yes, it IS that good. Pair that with some cheery, live, Irish tunes. Add an attentive and witty staff. You’ve got yourself a great afternoon!

Friend recommended this place to us as a place to eat lunch before heading to airport. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was going to be disappointed. Nothing on the menu stuck out to me and we just finally decided on the Feral burger because we couldn’t make up our mind. Burger came with a side salad which had a lime vinaigrette. It was not good. The burger was pretty decent. The clam chowder was the show stopper though. It was delicious I’m sad we wasted our last meal in Kauai at this place :(

Our first meal in Hawaii! It is a few minutes from the airport in Lihue, so it’s pretty convenient whether you’re coming or going. This place was actually recommended by locals the first time we were here, so I’m happy we finally got to check it out. We shared the braised pork belly appetizer. It was amazing, by the way, but how can it be otherwise, ever?! For me, I ordered the fish tacos and for him, the kalua pork.

Came in for lunch on Sunday. Our server took our order very quickly and was really friendly but our food took a while to come out. The feral tacos were good, decent size portion. The fish sandwich was good; the fries would have been great if they were hot(they’re cut thin with skin on and are crispy). The small plate chicken wings were dry and pretty bland, as were the sautéed veggies on the side. There was a table of locals whose server seemed to know, and they were having a great conversation, so attitude is definitely a positive one here. But overall, just an okay meal, especially for $ 45 for 3 people.

My pork sandwich was good. The bread was awesome. However, where’s the pork? For $ 12 this was a bit underwhelming :( My wife’s fish sandwich was wonderful but pricy at $ 14. They definitely use fresh veggies as the tomato on the sand which was fabulous. The kiddos were happy with their choices. Overall, decent food but spendy for what you get.

I came here on a Wednesday night and made a reservation, although it was not necessary. Restaurant was pretty empty. I ordered the fish tacos. They were good. Not great, not bad. Fast and friendly service.

Last meal in Kauai before headed to the airport. Checked the Unilocalers and saw this would be the perfect place to hang on way out of town. Friendly service, not crowded when we went, but then it was early and pouring rain. Seemed like mostly after work locals. Our party had: Seared Ahi salad– to die for. There was a nice spicy crust and then perfectly pink meat. Grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich, also good but not as good as the one I had at 9th Island. The fish was a bit overcooked and therefore tough. Flavor was nice and the crunch of a dry cole slaw on the sandwich was refreshing. Taro chips, fresh made, huge thin and crispy chips. Better than potato chips.

Through one of our honeymoon tours in Kauai, we were told not to miss the Feral Pig. The tour guide told us that they had the best burgers on the island AND the coldest beer. That was all I needed to hear, so we headed south and found a table. Parking is confusing, I entered the north parking lot through the exit only and finally found the designated lot. There’s a kiosk to get a lot ticket but nobody to collect them which I considered strange. Once parked, we entered the business complex and stumbled around until we found the pig. When we arrived, we were one of two parties in the entire place, but it still took us 15 minutes to get menus and water. Once our waiter found us, he stammered around the menu until he admitted it was his second day and really didn’t know the answers to our clarifying menu questions. We started with some brews which were definitely cold but I would hesitate to say were the coldest on the island. The feral sliders and feral tacos were our meal choices, and we had both the fries and the taro chips. The tacos were much better than the sliders, and the chips were much better than the fries. The sliders had pork belly which was exceedingly fatty and were claimed to be on a toasted taro bun but the bun tasted like any regular thing. The taro chips were easily the best thing we ate, toasty and salty, but coming all this way just for chips is probably a waste of time. Prices are higher than I thought was reasonable for the portions, but kudos to them for pushing the envelope with branching into the foodie scene while still incorporating local flavors. I’d love to see them add more authentic taro and possibly island fruits to the bbq and pulled pork. Otherwise, slightly above average, for a notable above average price.

Love this place! The proximity to the airport makes it a great place to chill before catching a flight. The drinks are hand crafted works of art and the food is super delicious with fresh and local ingredients. Every Sunday afternoon they have live music which I was lucky enough to recently catch. The regulars are friendly and the staff even more so. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Came here four times on our honeymoon, we loved it. It was really close to our hotel which made it convenient. We ordered the pork tacos which were amazing as well as the pancakes which were great too. I loved the bloody mary’s too. Fun little place, nothing fancy but good food and close by the Marriot Beach Club. Two complaints: the banana bread french toast: Don’t get it. First they served it completely cold so we sent it back and then it came back again cold but just in the middle. Weird. Second, they always seemed to run out of guacamole and salsa for the tacos. The tacos were a little bland with out them so they need to make sure they have enough salsa and guacamole every day. Overall though we loved it and loved hanging out there for brunch on our honeymoon!

Came here for lunch and it was so good!!! A friend recommended it and told us to get the Feral Burger. ohh my gosh, so freaking good! Great combinations of meats and sauce. I also asked if they could make me a specialty drink, in which they made it perfect and off the fly! One of the best meals we had on our cruise, hopefully I can make it back soon. The server was really nice and cool! Tip: If the feral burger is not on their menu, ask about it! It will be way worth it!

Came here for breakfast twice while on our trip to kauai! We were staying at the Marriot and everything is ridiculously priced, so we ventured over here hopeful for good food! My husband is a moco loco fanatic and the tiki loco did not disappoint. He practically licked his bowl at the end. I had the blackened ahi tuna eggs Benedict and it was amazing. One of the best hollandaise sauces I’ve ever had — delicious. Even when busy and understaffed this place found a way to have great service and took great care of us. Our fav food while in kauai for sure! We will be back. :)

Loved this spot and found it after wandering outside our hotel(Kauai Marriott) — it’s a few minutes walk and is an unassuming spot. When we sat down we were greeted by Eddie(his first week on the job) and he was a true delight. His attentiveness and eagerness to please made our whole experience even better. I am GF and can’t do dairy so breakfast options are sometimes limited, however this spot had freshly made omelettes and many other choices. The coffee is average however he kept the cups full. My honey had the banana and macadamia nut pancake(I mean seriously if I wasn’t GF I would have ordered 10 of these… they were insanely good, I only had a mouthful but it had warm bananas and really fresh macadamia nuts inside and on top). He also ordered the eggs benedict with the fish of the day blackened(interesting breakfast choice but he really enjoyed it). I had the vegetable omelette(with no peppers) and it was filled with mushrooms, kale and tomato) with the hash brown — really huge and delish. I highly recommend this spot and we will return before our time in Kauai.

Though I’ve heard of this place and passed it a bunch, I’ve never stopped in. My husband and I were in the area for breakfast one day and decided to try it. I got a simple breakfast. Eggs, homemade sausage patties and papaya. I was told the sausage patties were really good, so I was excited. They tasted… fresh and ungreasy, but didn’t have much flavor. I think I would get them again for some reason. Seems like a «healthier» option than spam maybe? Anyway, cool atmosphere and friendly staff. I might return for lunch or dinner someday.

This was our first stop on Kauai. We flew into a nasty storm, one that locals said they hadn’t seen in years. We were hungry and thirsty and this was right by our hotel. Our server was very friendly. I ordered their special drink which was ginger lemonade. It was very refreshing and really hit the spot after our flight! My hubby ordered the Feral Pig burger, which was a blend of pork, beef with pork belly. He enjoyed it. I had the Feral Tacos, which were fresh corn tortillas with pork, beef and pork belly, along with a fresh salad. We really liked the freshness of all of our food. Both of our meals came with a special sauce which we really didn’t like but in general our meals were great.

It was a good breakfast but nothing to write home about. My husband ordered the Blackened Ahi Eggs Benedict but they were out of Ahi. Heard several other people order it but had to order something else instead. My husband ordered the Cured Ham Benny. I must of not read the full description for mine. It was the Vegetarian. I thought it was an addition to the Ham Benny. It was good thought. They do not have any gluten free breads so I did not eat my English muffin. My husband said it was nice and soft. I overhead a gentlemen at a table behind me. He made a comment about his breakfast. Didn’t seem to happy with it. I am not sure what he was having. The atmosphere is nothing special. It is a small space. The servers all young around 20. They all seemed to help each other and were friendly.

I’ve been to the restaurant three times. Dragged by friends last two times. Each time hoping it will be better than the last. The food is sub par. Maybe it’s because I don’t like pork and that’s their main focus. My friends love their feral burger which isn’t on the menu so ask about it. I ordered the fish and chips this time. The fries were soft. I like my fries more crispy. The batter kept falling off the fish and kept oily. The tarter sauce tasted like straight capers and the clam chowder that came with the meal had pork in it even tho it didn’t say that and I don’t eat pork. Overall the food is not every good. But the servers are always very nice even tho service is slow since their is one server for the whole restaurant. So they get three starts for the servers being genuine and nice. Otherwise two stars.
