if your looking for some good souvenirs, i reccomend you to come here because they sell most of the stuff same as other shops but cheaper! As a traveler i like to bring some goodies back home for friends and loved ones. I like to walk around and window shop first before buying things. Most places sell similar stuff such as ABC stores since they are all around town in kauai. Alot of your souvenirs such as shot glasses, stickers, fake leis, t shirts, caps, hats, pens, notepad, folders, keychains are all carried in Walmart. If you like hawaiian coffee in all certain brands from less expensive to know name brand ones are all carried here. They even carry tropical Hawaiian teas too for a third of the price where other places sell it for. I got a little of both and i was so happy i did because when i went to maui the prices for hawaii souvenirs was far more expensive than kauai. A tip is get all yo goodies in kauai vs. the bigger islands. Overall i like walmart much better than in Cali people are much nicer and people don’t look too bad compared to Cali walmart lol. Especially traveling when i forget something, just come to walmart to buy what you need and you are all set. Mahalo for reading and happy shopping.

I had to buy diapers for my baby because she made an accident. So I went straight to the diapers section, grabbed diapers & wipes, went to the checkout & paid for both. After doing all that I went straight into the bathroom(with my receipt showing), I even passed 3 employees and as I was in the bathroom an employee confronted me demanding if I had bought those items(all while I was in the middle of cleaning up my baby). So I had to stop while my baby is half naked covered in poop just to show her my receipt. Even after showing her my receipt, and her staring at it for a good 2 minutes, she gave me back the receipt and didn’t say sorry or anything and walked off. She was rude! Maybe if she would’ve asked me in a different tone or way or if she simply said sorry(after assuming I stole diapers and wipes) I would’ve gave more stars. They also didn’t offer any plastic bags for the items bought.

Kind of ashamed to admit this. but we came to this Walmart at least 5 times during our vacation. You won’t find cheaper souvenirs anywhere on the island and they have a pretty good selection, too. A whole aisle of chocolate macadamias(all brands), Kauai Kookies(my fave!), mauna loa nuts, and Hawaiian candies as well as a souvenirs section with magnets, keychains, etc. We were also able to get some fresh flower leis in the fridges in the front. Employees are as friendly as you can expect Walmart employees to be, prices are reasonable, and parking is easy.

You can always count on Walmart. The only issue that I noticed, since I am from the mainland, is you must purchase or have a reusable bag. They do not provide plastic bags for your purchases. I guess this is an island thing! Prices are higher than you’ll find at Walmarts on the mainland. But, when it comes to savings, you can’t beat Wally World!

We had no choice in our decision to come here except that Budget rent a car did not have a adequate variety of car booster seats for my seven year old, and this was the closest place. Not to knock this place, but I generally boycott Walmart due to poor wages and crappy health care insurance the company provides. Anyway, a quick seven minute drive from the Airport, I entered the box store and the car seats were a straight shot in the rear left of the store. Huge selection of about 20 types. I quickly located what suited our needs. Twenty three dollars later I was rolling. My son now safely boosted in his seat. Budget charges 16 dollars PERDAY if i remember correctly so this actually a smoking deal.

Your standard Walmart. Always a good stop when you’re on vacation to stock up on drinks, snacks, forgotten items(toiletries, etc.), as well as souvenirs and gifts to bring back home. Note: Bring your own shopping bag. Kauai is a plastic bag free island.

This is the place to be seen. Just kidding. Well you do see all sorts of people here. All kinds of locals and all kinds of tourists. Great people watching place. They have all your basic needs to last on the island. There’s even souvenirs. This place saved my life. They had usb car chargers. Tip for cell phone owners: turn off your data or put it on airplane mode unless you’re using your phone, to prevent battery life from draining because of roaming.

Wal-Mart is the devil but it’s always the giant stock-up store when traveling. From CA to FL, usually they’re chock full of nothing but cheap clothes, cheaper coffee makers, and little debbie pies. This one is different at least. Offers HI friendly selection with local snacks(hurricane popcorn and maui chips), lower prices on drinks and tourist gifts than other places, and an utterly massive sandal selection. Mandatory stop for tourists since it’s so close to the airport. Don’t go broke, buy before you hit the beach.

The cost of living in Hawaii was a frequent topic of conversation. The cost of living in Kauai was a frequent conversation. If I lived on any island with a Walmart, I would probably ending sporting a tattoo with the Walmart happy face, given all the money it would save me. This Walmart from the start was awesome! Instead of ducking cars and shopping carts trying to hit me as I would in Vegas, I get to start of my shopping experience with chickens walking around the parking lot! SMILES! Walking through the door, i casted my eyes around the store taking in the locals(in all manner of dress) and the savings. SMILES! Needed an inexpensive pair of board shorts… Done! Needed some inexpensive snacks… Done! Needed some wine and Jameson… Done! The booze was by far cheaper than anywhere you can get on the island(s). Hell… It was cheaper than Vegas! The Walmart checker was super friendly and even though she took some time have an aloha kind of conversation with us, the other shoppers did not seem to mind. Absolutely enjoyed the experience and if your looking to save a few bucks, make Walmart a part of the experience!

walmart! it’s the only one on island. they’ve got you covered– from clothing,(some) groceries, hardwares, electronics, garden, cosmetics and even a pharmacy! i feel like this store is kept clean and neat. they tend to keep a good stock of items and when you need help looking for something, there is usually an associate around to ask for help.
