First time trying takeout, and it was perfectly delicious slightly Americanized Chinese takeout! Exactly what you want if that’s what you’re looking for. I especially enjoyed the Kung pao chicken. Owners are very nice!

Excellent. My favorite. Looks like I liked it so much this my second review. But, they are closed on Monday. So, don’t get craving on Monday.

Just found a little brown bug the size of a small cricket in my beef lo mein. Called the owner and she said they had just sprayed for bugs that day. FANTASTIC! So I probably got bug spray AND a bug! Will NOT be back! And it smells bad in there.

As 20 yr. residents of the area this is our favorite Chinese restaurant. Service is quick, pleasant and they always remember us with a smile. Golden Shrimp is a favorite as is the Hot and Sour soup and fried won tons. Generous portions and fresh vegetables.

As usual, I try to give restaurants a second chance unless the food and or service was just horrible. This time, I dined in and had a much better experience. Didnt get«tude» this time. Service with a smile is always nice! Food was good but I wont say it is the best. I grew up around Chinese food/culture and my mother was a Chinese chef so it takes alot to please me. But I can say I wasn’t disappointed this time. Its a good place for me since it is close to home and I finally got my eggroll!

Very good authentic chinese food. Order delivery often which takes about 45 – 60 min which isn’t bad for good food but plan accordingly. Favorites are chicken lo mein, Mongolian beef, chicken with black bean sauce and mushoo(sp?) chicken and ask them to roll it for you.

What can I say… Went for take out. The food was hot and smelled great but it went down from there. The Crab Rangoons had a thick, tough dough. We couldn’t get down more than 1 each. The steamed dumplings were inedible and the ginger sauce was greasy. We were so very disappointed. The entrees were mediocre at best. I DON’T reccomend.

We have been eating from this since the 90s. It is always cooked fresh. Verges are always clean. Service is excellent.

I’ve been eating since I was a teenager(20ish years ago) and its always been a favorite. The food is great. BUT, they have pretty bad customer service. I went in a few days ago and they refused to sell me lo mein noodles instead of rice with a Mongolian beef. I don’t like fried rice, I’m not going to pay for something I don’t want. She wasn’t willing to fudge on subbing noodles for me, so I walked out. :(

We ordered delivery and it showed up in perfect timing, the delivery man was nice, and lunch wasn’t too expensive. The food was just okay. The sauce for both the orange chicken and general tsos was very watery. My orange chicken didn’t taste terrible though. The fried rice had absolutely nothing in it besides little tiny carrot bits. The fortune cookies were stale too. Also thought it was disappointing when no rice came with our meals.

This restaurant is our go to restaurant for chinese in the Lilburn area. Vegetables and chicken are always fresh every time. comparable to New York chinese food. They are not open on Mondays and can be very busy on the weekend so delivery usually takes awhile but i can tell you it is worth the wait.

I’ve been eating here for 20 years. I compare all other Chinese food to this place. It’s not fancy just good. The owners are very nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. This place sets the bar for hot and sour soup. Worth the drive from wherever.

Well, whenever I’m sick I order hot and sour soup and just go pick it up, on this occasion I also ordered sweet and sour chicken, and some stuff for my mom and her bf, well we go pick up our food, and when we get home, I have NO sweet and sour sauce, and instead of delivering it to my house, they make us go get it, even though they were the ones that messed up, and only offered one eggroll for the inconvenience. I found this very offputting.

I really wish I could get some consistency from Hunan Gardens. We ordered dinner from them at 5pm on a Wednesday night. You’d THINK we would beat whatever rush they might have. They gave us an estimated delivery time of 45 minutes. After an hour and 10 minutes, we called and were told the delivery person had left 15 minutes ago. We live less than 10 minutes from the restaurant. We waited another 20 minutes and right as we were getting ready to call back, the guy showed up. When my husband signed the credit card slip, the delivery guy had the NERVE to say, «You forgot my tip.» My husband said, «Are you kidding me? You were 45 minutes late and you didn’t even attempt to apologize.» Not surprising, our food was cold when we got it. They also didn’t give us the rice for our sizzling rice soup. We called back and they offered us egg rolls the next time we order. We don’t like egg rolls, and when we told them that, the woman repeated the offer! Ridiculous and HORRIBLE customer service.

After reading the previous review and deciding that your DELIVERY service is not the same as the RESTAURANT service, I decided to try Hunan Garden. Boy am I glad that we did! My husband and I had a craving for Chinese after church one Sunday afternoon and after looking on Unilocal, found the place. I remembered seeing it but if you don’t know where it is or don’t bother to look at it, you’ll miss this nice little hole in wall kinda place. For the lunch special, you receive soup, rice, cookie, and either an egg roll or chicken wing with prices ranging from $ 5.75-$ 6.75. I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and it was to die for! I have a personal rule to never order shrimp out at a restaurant unless they specialize in serving it(seafood restaurant) or charge an arm and a leg, because you can never be too sure they they de-vein them or cook them properly. I was very impressed with Hunan for cooking them the correct way. The service was very quick and responsive and I’m almost positive we arrived, ate, and left all in about an hour, maybe an hour and a half. We are definitely going back to Hunan, so consider this place a big thumbs up for me!(don’t let a delivery experience change your opinion on the place itself.) :)
