Pete’s Ice Cream

Interesting little place. Tons of flavors! Great service. The day I stopped by. I order a waffle cone with one scoop to go. The girl smiles and hands it to me a minute later. This thing was huge! One avg scoop @ Pete’s = 2 – 3 scoops elsewhere! Good thing I didn’t order a double. It would have been like a fricking 7 course meal!
I say «how much?» Shes says «„its free“. I say „what are you talking about?“ She points to the front patio in front of the store. I look and see a group of people sitting enjoying their ice cream. Balloons are sitting by the tables. Several kids are there. My ice cream hostess looks at me & says „those people are having a birthday party and for the next — - (she looks at the clock)– 30 mins all ice cream for everyone is free! Paid for by them!“ Im like. WTF?!! Im thinking. In this day and age? Didn’t think those things happened every day.» So I thank the girl & walk over to the party asking about whose bday it was? Expecting one of the kids to be the bday party recipients, instead an adult woman probably about 30 shrugs and says sheepishly” my birthday”. I was surprised to say the least. She gathered her friends & family for a lil while to celebrate here at Pete’s cause the ice cream, service & atmosphere is so nice, she told me. I thanked her for sharing her bday w/​total strangers! Instead, she was the one giving gifts. Which is very cool! Again, my philosophy, support Mom & Pop shops cause quality & service is always better! And you never know what youll stumble upon.

Good, cheap ice cream. The people behind the counter are nice and it’s a typical ice cream stand. Make sure you try the Blue Raspberry shell!

Delicious foods and treats! Fresh brewed iced tea and real root beer are wonderful and can be purchased by the gallon! Great coney and dogs! Prices are great! Parking scarce. Tables scarce. Lines sometimes long. All is worth it in the end!

The best soft serve I’ve ever had! You get a lot for the $$ too! Plenty of hard dip flavors to satisfy your ice cream cravings. Pete’s can get busy at times but it is worth the wait. They also serve food but I have not had a chance to try any. Staff is super friendly! I don’t see why Pete’s is not #1 in Lima’s best of the best.
