It’s always a challenge to find good sushi in the burbs. At Saku, I think I finally found a place that consistently serves up great sushi and sashimi. It’s always fresh, sliced perfectly and delicious. This very small BYOB is a hike unless you live near Limerick, but it has become my go to sushi house. They seem no have a nice selection of rolls(not my thing really) and the fish is the freshest I’ve found in this area of the Philly burbs. Excellent service.

We came here twice, both times their sushi was terrible and overpriced. One roll in particular was made of «tuna, salmon, and [another fish i can’t remember]» and it literally looked/smelled liked canned tuna wrapped up(not the good quality tuna either…). Once I got a «chicken and broccoli» dish and it was comparable to a take-out Chinese place(which i thought was good but not worth their price). Maybe we just kept picking the wrong things on the menu because the table next to us had sushi that looked really good. I don’t think we’ll be back though.

I travel for my work and eat at sushi restaurants all over the country and in Tokyo. This is clearly one of the better ones and definitely one of the best ones in the Philadelphia area. The food is fresh and expertly prepared. The service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable My only regret is that I live an hour away.

I really enjoy this place. A small BYOB but the service, and food are excellent. I’ve been here when there are only a few other folks at tables, and I’ve been there when people are waiting for one of the tables to open up. There isn’t really a waiting area, so you’re waiting outside if you come with a few people in your group. We like getting the seaweed salad, and we usually start with 2 – 3 cuts of sashimi, and a few specialty rolls. The kids even enjoy the food here! We all look forward to the tempura banana for dessert.

Lately I’ve been disappointed by every sushi restaurant I try, despite the raving reviews. This restaurant was different; I left impressed. Saturday we stopped in on the way to the outlets for a late lunch. The place is unassuming, but cozy. As you enter, you are warmly greeted and that service continues your entire dining experience. This is standout because many sushi restaurants do not have welcoming service. Since it was lunch still, we enjoyed lunch combos that were a great bargain. Each came with a choice of soup or salad, we both had salad. The salad was crisp and the dressing tasted homemade with fresh ginger, much better than your average sushi place salad. Next I got the 3 roll combo. I had the sweet potato, mixed veggie, and green rolls. All were excellent. My 2 favorites were the green roll and the sweet potato roll. Usually sweet potato rolls have soggy tempura. This was still crisp. He had a sashimi combo that came with a side of sushi rice. He really enjoyed his dish. I tasted the sushi rice and it was delicious. The atmosphere here isn’t fancy. It’s cozy, and the prices are right. I’d imagine it might get busy during weekend dinner times. I’m sad that it’s not closer to my house. This could be my new sushi joint.

Top-quality, delicious food. Ling’s warmth and welcoming is the icing on top of many satisfying experiences here. I have happily and heartily suggested to friends and colleagues that they try Saku, and all have been impressed and delighted.

Stopped in for lunch. Got the steak bento box. Fantastic… Steak is rib eye, very tender and flavorful. Comes with soup and salad which were also very good. Best ginger dressing I’ve had. Service was also great. Will definitely get this again. $ 10.95 was well worth it.

We were visiting friends who live in the area and decided we wanted to have Japanese food. We went for the first time and stumbled onto our new favorite sushi place! The staff was very friendly, helpful and polite. The food was delicious. We usually try hamachi sushi at every sushi place we go since that’s our measure of good quality sushi — and it was very good. The agedashi tofu was great. We were really happy with everything. Next time we are in the area, we will be sure to drop by!

Well thanks to Unilocal after moving into the area over thanksgiving we were finally ready for a quality sushi dinner and went here based on reviews. So glad we did! For a quaint little sushi bar it has a big menu with big fresh flavors! It was a nasty night weather wise and it wasn’t very busy, but after a few minutes it was packed with regulars, there’s a clue there. The service is really good too, nothing but 5 stars from us!

This is now the 4th time we have ordered take out sushi, and each time the food is awesome. Quickly becoming the local go-to for sushi. Make sure you check on line for the monthly and seasonal rolls which aren’t always on the regular menu.

I am a regular at Saku because it’s an all around amazing restaurant. Japanese food/sushi is my favorite and I am familiar with all of the Asian restaurant in the area. Saku is always my first choice. I have never left being unsatisfied, in fact I always leave being more than pleased. I love it so much I have brought my family and friends there and always recommend it to others. The owner and the waitress are so kind and generous, they know me by name and have often brought my table things to try on the house and even complementary dessert. There sushi is awesome, along with everything else on their menu(the Sakura roll is my favorite as well as the Orange Blossom roll) I would encourage you to try it out, you won’t be disappointed!

This place is awesome, the food is great and the customer service top notch. Their menu has good variety, from more traditional Japanese cuisine to American-style sushi rolls(which are very good, I had the Golden Samurai and Autumns eve roll). Also, you get a free California roll by checking in through Unilocal. This place definitely deserves 5 stars.

Hopefully my fellow reviewers won’t rip me for my 4 star review. I truly love Saku and very happy that the lunch specials are also available on saturday and as late as 3 p.m. I went for the spicy salmon, spicy tuna and eel rolls. I thought that the spicy tuna need a bit more bite(personal opinion since a desired level of bite varies for all of us) and the eel was actually hot and I believe should be served warm. The spicy salmon was perfect. And the staff and manager are extremely attentive. I definitely plan on returning in the future.

Went around 9 pm on a Saturday. There was one in the restaurant. The hostess was very friendly. They offer an assortment of sushi rolls all of which I thought were good. The prices I felt were a little high for the area but not too bad. Specialty rolls were between $ 13-$ 16 each. I liked everything we got but the roll with Lemons was something I had never had before and would recommend.

Food was great! Amber Phoenix Roll definitely hit the spot. Lovely atmosphere and it’s BYOB… Customer service here is definitely the high point. They are very attentive. This isn’t LA fusion but it’s really good. Great presentation and overall quality. They have room for exploring with combination etc. I can see this place take a great turn later on. Recommend it!!! Limited parking. They accept all credit cards.

My first time here and I had an amazing experience! The friendly server greeted us at the door. The restaurant is small but very cute with authentic, relaxing décor. We ordered sushi which was Hawaiian, tropical mango, sweet potato and avocado rolls. The owner brought us salad and soups on the house and also desert on the house after dinner, which was very generous! He talked to us for few minutes and we could tell he’s very passionate about his business. All I can say is that this is a place that I would definitely be a regular at. Very delicious food, super friendly people and it’s close to home.
