Of course you can almost throw a rock in Georgia and hit a soul food place. This is probably true in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and the rest of the South. It’s just an undeniable fact that makes it hard for one soul food restaurant to stand out from another. Especially with self-proclaimed purists like myself walking around. But this one I like. So far(as entrees) I’ve had the smothered pork chops, the smothered chicken and… the one tiny bite of BBQ turkey rib that my wife was willing to part with. :-) All were very good. Very well cooked and bursting with flavor like soul food is supposed to. As far as the sides were concerned, I had the mac & cheese and collard greens both times. Both were good, but I know that they would be even better if they weren’t sitting in buffet-style chafing dishes all day. I understand though that this is for the purpose of speedy service. No complaints. I am more than prepared to return and try more items off the menu. Especially the desserts.

Big disappointment. It felt like a fast-food restaurant, with the food served in a styrofoam to-go box and a small plastic fork and spoon. The tea tasted like molasses was in it, we replaced ours with ‘lemonade’ which was not as bad. The lima beans were tasteless and dry, the yams were sliced thinly and syrupy sweet, the meat was tasteless. On the plus side, the young man who took our order was very nice and the dining room was attractive. The food had the look of good home cooking.

This was my first time and I loved it.. Came in with a group and the two young ladies handled everything. They were professional and able to answer all questions. I will be back and recommend it. Our orders included Fried whole wings, fish, baked chicken, mac and cheese, collards, rice and gravy, cabbage, etc. excellent!

Been here several times, I drive 30 miles each way each time I come here. Meatloaf & Blueberry Poundcake is the best! The food is made with love and is a homey feeling!
