This will most likely be our new Saturday breakfast spot. Partly due to convenience because we are moving there. But also in part to the establishment itself. Definitely enjoy it not being your general chain breakfast joint. Décor and ambience was nice and fresh. The outdoor seating could be nice in the more enjoyable weather months. The food felt created not replicated. Definitely as a scrambled egg lover this place had numerous jazzed up recipes to enjoy your egg, wether scrambled or omelette or how ever you like it. They have good kids selections, which is key to an enjoyable breakfast when you have 2 young kids. If they are happily eating then they aren’t driving you crazy. I definitely look forward to a return visit. Especially interested in trying some of the other items I noticed on the menu. Service could’ve been a little more attentive, that’s why I will hold back to 4 stars. We will most likely be doing routine trips here so we will see if the future visits bump the star rating up or down. For now it’s a sure fire return after our enjoyable meal and 1st visit.

Fast and friendly service for seven of us! We all ordered something different and it was all really, really good. The staff was playful and engaging with the young kids in our party; we really like this place and it is now our first choice for breakfast!!!

Coffee was good, egg was done correctly, delicious toast but the corned beef hash fell short of everything else– off putting undertone.

Decided to try a new place for breakfast and I was impressed on how nice this restaurant was. They offer outdoor seating in a screened patio; which is great in Florida to keep to bugs and flies away. The décor has a modern friendly feel. I was surprised when I asked the server for coffee and she offered me «hazelnut, medium or dark roast» I was immediately in heaven. I felt like the serving size was a little small for the price. My meal was $ 8.50 and it was 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon, potatoes and 1 slice of toast. But I was pleasantly surprised they served a brown sugar bacon with my meal.

We had a very nice breakfast there. We felt bad for the two servers because they were jammed with customers & the whole inside and outside was full. There were only two of them on. Despite the crowd, the service wasn’t as slow as you would expect and they were very friendly. The ingredients tasted fresh and the menu had a variety of options. We will definitely be back.

First time here for breakfast and it was a good experience. The parking lot scared us because it was packed and we had to park in the lot next door for the bank but when we walked in we were seated right away. Waiter was super nice, service was prompt, food was tasty and wifi is free(just ask for the password). We will definitely be back.

Food was great; however, the owner, Joel, displayed a glaring lack of professional courtesy. We had a network meeting there the other day with seven people, about a $ 100 tab. The food was great and the server was great. However, during our meal, one of the gentleman in our networking group had a medical emergency. It was obvious, because he set his phone down on top or his pancakes, and couldn’t even tell us his name or communicate. I was relaying information to the server as he was on the phone with emergency dispatch. Joel, the owner, interrupted me during the conversation. He told me I was misinforming the dispatch. Another man in our group pointed out that I was a doctor. Joel, the owner looked me up and down and said, «What are you, a vet?» I just looked at him. He looked at my name tag and said, «Oh, you’re a chiropractor; you’re not a real doctor.» He was insisting that my friend was OK, and declaring that he used to be an EMT and that my friend was fine. Meanwhile, my friend was in serious distress, unable to walk or communicate. The entire restaurant was quiet, probably about 50 people in the restaurant, and rather than trying to help, the owner was interjecting during our 911 phone call. It was completely inappropriate behavior. He was intentionally insulting. I can appreciate vets, chiropractors and medical doctors, and the amount of training and effort it takes to work in any of those fields. To publicly spew derogatory comments about customers in the middle of a crowded restaurant is completely inappropriate, and that’s not even considering the fact that he was impeding our attempts to get necessary medical care for our friend(who was, in fact, experiencing a real medical emergency and is currently still in the hospital).

Went to breakfast this morning and waited 45 minutes for some bacon and eggs. When the food FINALLY came the waitress apologized and said they were short a cook. It would have been really nice if they had said that up front, especially being a weekday. If I had to be at work today I would have been extremely upset. The food was ok, but not worth the wait.

I have eaten here several times and have had a perfect experience every time. The bacon(brown sugar & bourbon cured) is some of the best bacon I have ever had. The French Toast is excellent as well. Dark coffee and mello coffee are both great. 2THUMBSUP!!!

This restaurant has been open for about a year, but this was my first visit. First off, I dont like to go to restaurants where the staff treat you like they are doing you some kind of favor by serving you, this restaurant does not have that problem. Everyone was cordial and nice, looking around the restuarant there appear to be alot of regulars, I can see why. This is a breakfast/brunch/lunch place but I decided to have a burger and ordered the mack-n-cheese for my three year old son. I forgot that my son only likes kraft mac-n-cheese, so I ended up eating his meal. My burger was great, I just ordered a plain old burger and it suited my craving at this poiny of my day. Overall a great experience for my sone and I, I will just make sure to order my son pancakes next time. The restaurant was nearly full, so they must be doing things right here in finicky Fishhawk. I will be back, but next time with my full family of six.

We came here while visiting family since they know the owners. Service was fine for a party of 14 other than trying to hand off dishes to the wrong people. The problem is the food. My husband and I split a breakfast wrap with a side of home fries. I love home fries, and for the first time I’ve had bland ones. These were just not good, I think I only had 3 of them. I had about 4 bites of the wrap, it was just bland too, adding salsa helped as well. I don’t care about knowing the owners, but I would not go back. Nothing special or tasty here. They only get a second star for my family liking them.

Good morning Unilocalers. So, today I decided to go out for breakfast with my family at a new place. So, for those of you who follow me you know that I start off with the customer service. Our waitress Elaina was very nice and professional We started off with dark coffee. Soooooooo good. Now for the food. It took about 30 minutes to get our food after we placed the order. When we got the food it was cold. I had to request another waffle of which was cold as well. Overall the customer service was great. The waitress did apoligize for the cold food.

It was just ok. My eggs over light had no juice they were like hard fried eggs. Did not like the hash brown casserole. Server was nice. Place cute but as I said just ok. I won’t go out of our way to go back. Maida

I’ve been here 3 times & gratefully each experience has been great. I’ve ordered the exact same plate each time which is called the Fishhawker– I keep it simple so it’s two eggs over medium, French toast, maple bacon, & Wisconsin cheddar hash. The French toast is delicious & definitely worth trying if you haven’t had it! The bacon is on the sweeter side so for me it does a nice blend w/the eggs & cheesy hash. The staff has always been prompt & friendly. The place is quaint, clean, & service is good. All the basics nicely covered to jump start your morning!

Went in excited for a new place in the area. Got seated right away, but then we waited for about 15 minutes without anyone ever even offer coffee or coming back to us. We left shortly after another couple. Not going back.

#231 This is the kind of local place you want to love but… Nice place, nothing extraordinary big outdoor area that will be very nice in the warmer weather. We were seated immediately and our server offered a choice of coffee’s, regular or bold. He also let me sample both before I choose. I asked for a 50⁄50 blend of both which he poured no problem. I ordered a sausage, spinach and cheese omelet and was offered the choice of home fires, hash brown casserole(hash browns/cheese baked in casserole) or scrambled grits(grits with bacon bits and cheese). I kept it simple and went with the home fries and biscuit. Wife ordered the corned beef hash two egg breakfast. The hash here is made in house and this is why we came here, to try it as she is nuts about hash. The food coming out wasn’t real fast but it did come out hot. I was surprised when I saw my home fries, mixed with sautéed green and red peppers and sliced onion. I sang praises to the veggie gods until… I tasted it. Funny flavor, something not quite right. And the omelet? It was essentially a cheese omelet with about 4 spinach leaves and a small smattering of sausage crumbled on top. I was very disappointed. Oh wait, the biscuit was good. I wanted strawberries on top of it. Wife’s hash was greasy and had an off flavor also and her toast wasn’t. I can’t say I’m impressed by this new business, I love mom and pop places but if the food doesn’t improve I don’t have much hope for it.

Always looking for a good breakfast spot. Not much luck however. It’s a little drive from Riverview to Fishhawk, but we really wanted to give this place a try. I love the décor of the place, especially the pallet boards on the walls. Kudos to the designer. The restaurant is fairly large with an even bigger outdoor area. So plenty of seating. Our waiter was very nice. No complaints about the service(until…see below) I ordered the corned beef hash with over medium eggs and toast. Coffee(decaf) was hot but a bit bland for my taste. Took quite a while to get our food but we were in no hurry so it didn’t really bother us. My eggs were cooked perfectly, hurray! Toast was warmed bread(1 slice, but a little thicker than your usual bread), I like my toast toasted!!! I did not like the hash. Pretty much corned beef with shredded potato. It left a puddle of oil/grease in the bottom of my dish which totally turned me off. At the same time, the beef was dry(I know, a conundrum right? Greasy and dry at the same time). The corned beef was a bit too«corned» for my liking too. Tasted like dill pickles. What a disappointment. The waiter, noticing that I didn’t eat the corned beef asked if I didnt like it. I told him no, and explained why. He picked up my plate and off he went. No offer of something else, no visit by the manager/owner, just left, and no discount on the bill. I know it must be tough to get a new business off the ground, but if you don’t take care of your patrons, they will not return. We will not return. Back to our little hole-in-the-wall Ruth’s Steakhouse on 301 in Riverview, now they know how to make breakfast and how to take care of their customers, Honey!!!

Fishhawk’s new(and only? or are we counting the bagel place) breakfast joint, just opened in the plaza that houses Fishhawk Pizza, the vitamin/smoothie place, and that gym all the cool moms go to. So walking in, the layout is the first big issue. The host stand is also the pay stand, immediately inside the doorway. This can(and most certainly will on a busy weekend day) lead to confusion, as people trying to pay and people mingling in to sit down are in one giant mass, right inside the door. An off-to-the-side«Please Wait Here To Be Seated» sign would probably work wonders. Since the place is also in Fishhawk, it’s loud as heck inside, and filled with kids. But your kid is probably shouting too, so it’s generally all good. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself… Quick, friendly service took care of drinks and food orders, which took a good long while to come out, but we’ll chalk that one up to first-week issues. The food was great, though. Kiddo had a good-sized chocolate chip waffle and warm cinnamon apples, which she devoured. The wife loved her«Kitchen Sink» omelet, and the corned beef hash I had is made in-house, from an actual corn beef brisket. Very tasty stuff. Coffee was general boring Central American blend diner coffee. Definitely not my imported Kopi Luwak, but at $ 2 with refills I guess I’ll survive. Very large outside seating area as well, and it’s covered entirely. I’ll definitely be back to try their other breakfasts — let’s hope they iron out the speed issues while keeping the food quality as high as I experienced.
