Excellent Traditional English Pub! A variety of beers, as well as, one of the best kitchen menus around! We go often because the food, drinks and atmosphere is great and it’s in my hometown! If you’ve never eaten here, you won’t be disappointed!

Me and a colleague stopped at Bull’s Head Public House for lunch last week, before heading to our finally appointment in the adorable town of Lititz. Just a few notes about this town. You really feel like you stepped back in time walking the beautifully kept streets of this quaint town. Fun fact I found, In 2013, Lititz was announced the winner of Budget Travel’s «America’s Coolest Small Towns» competition from among 15 other finalists.(«America’s Coolest Small Towns 2013»). It deserved the title. Anyway, BHPH is attached to Sutter’s Inn. They have an area to eat outside that looked very inviting but this was a business lunch. We headed in and discover how the place works. The barkeep explains we order at the bar, then sit and wait for your food. Ok, sure. According to the cards on our tables this is in style of a true Irish Pub. More on that later. We perused the menu and I decided upon the Pear and Walnut salad, added grilled chicken and it came with a celery vinaigrette. I was suspicious of the dressing but it turned out to be quite nice. The toppings sit on a bed of spinach, more on that later. We approached the bar, waited to order, ordered and sat and waited. It was a warm day, and we were both pretty thirty as we needed to get refills a couple of times before the food came out. So this means we have to take our glasses up to the bar and wait in line for a refill. This wasn’t very convenient, especially if someone is ahead of you paying the bill or ordering their meal. There was only one man working the bar. I think with this concept they should have two people available. Meals come out and placed in front of us. As I began to fluff my salad I noticed there were no walnuts. It’s part of the name of the salad. So I get up, again and head to the bar since there is no one else to ask for my missing walnuts. Unfortunately, a table of older ladies were all paying their bills and I had to wait behind them. They all paid individually and it took at least 10 minutes before I finally spoke to the bartender to tell him I have been shorted on my nuts. So cute concept being all«authentic» but it’s 2016, I didn’t have 10 minutes to wait behind 6 older ladies casually and in no hurry pay their respective lunch bills, while my lunch lay waiting for me. Finally I get my nuts. So the salad was good. Not great, but that was mainly to do with the spinach. It was the kind of spinach with the extremely long tail. Not sure what they call that. But it wouldn’t cut easily and was cumbersome to chew while sticking out of my mouth. I’m sure I looked pretty silly. The dressing though was bomb, and the chicken was nicely cooked. I really liked this place, the town, the Inn that it’s attached to was very cool, but the rules of going to the bar for everything, even when it is the cook or whoever’s fault, isn’t just inconvenient it isn’t conducive to today’s schedules and time restrictions. I would have like to have spent my lunch break enjoying my food not waiting in line to have the staff correct a mistake they made. I bet going there and sitting at the bar is a totally different experience or if you had nowhere to be anytime soon. Would definitely be at least 4 stars if not for the problems I encountered

There is no finer place to relax outside with a few pints and quality pub grub! Always a diverse selection of beers on tap to sample. Service has always been friendly and attentive. Lititz is fortunate to have this gem!

The place is great. Love the look, love the drinks, and the appetizers we’re on point. It truly has a classic pub feel. Although beware, the men’s bathroom makes you feel like you are in the 20s during prohibition lol. My entrée was a little disappointing though, I got the Gorgonzola Gnocchi. I wish I would have stuck with traditional pub food which was great. And service was good as well. Btw. Must try the LochNEss beer. Delicious!!! And the beer crab artichoke dip, wow!

The Bull’s Head is very inviting and located right off Main Street, I stopped in tonight for a bite and a beer(or two). The tap list here is extensive! I wanted to try something new and Jeff behind the bar was very knowledgable and had some great suggestions based on the flavor profile I was looking for. For food its traditional English pub fare with some classic American bar food — Jeff suggested the fish and chips and they did not disappoint! If you are in town definitely check out the historic Bull’s Head!

A traditional English style pub that gets the details right. Tables are available, but you’ll need to order everything at the bar. Good pub food, including Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, and fried pickles. Bartender was friendly. It’s housed in the General Sutter Inn. If your a guy, take a trip to the men’s room and say hi to Pearl.

I visited this place this past weekend on a whim. Was looking to try something new. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with balsamic/fresh mozz/greens, as well as the calamari and the cheddar bites for an appetizer. I found it strange that a place with such a nice atmosphere makes you order from the bar and then sit down, also you have to go back up the bar any time you want a drink which I found slightly annoying for an upscale dining experience. The calamari was a little bland tasting and the sauce a little sweet for my liking, however the cheddar bites were outstanding and the breading was very unique tasting(Pilsner breading). The sandwich was also good and very different from other venues in the area. I would recommend this place, but I could see it getting hard to find a table during busy hours since its seat your self. I did find the atmosphere to be nice and I was tucked away with my gf in a corner by the window so it was nice to eat in privacy. I’ll definitely be going back at some point to try some other items.

A lot has changed at the Bull’s Head, and all for the better! Wonderful indoor/outdoor seating since the expansion. Very good food, menu changes are great. Best Bison burger I’ve ever had. Great drinks, service can still be slow as it gets very crowded. But the staff hustles to keep up and are always friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I met a nice older couple on my plane ride back from Palm Beach to Baltimore a few weeks ago. They lived in Lititz and were telling me about this traditional English pub that was a must visit. I tried it for the first time on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30pm. Did it live up to the hype? THEGOOD… –found street parking reasonably close(2hr max/metered parking… have coins on you) –walked up to the bar and explained it was our first time here… bartender was welcoming and explained how things go –lobster and brie mac n cheese was amazing –cheese bites were delicious, especially with the spicy mustard dipping sauce –fish and chips were awesome –salted caramel dark chocolate pretzel ice cream pie was phenomenal –food runners were polite –several people working the bar –prices were fair –you can sit anywhere you want(as long as it’s available) –menu offered options for all types of eaters –water was quickly refilled at the bar –timing of appetizers and entrees were on point THEBAD… Can’t think of anything! Overall I loved Bulls Head Public House. The food was perfect all around. The service at the bar and to the table was good. I’m not much of a drinker so I can’t speak to their beers, but if you are there is a plethora of options. I could totally see this place being slammed at certain hours of the day where parking and seating could be challenging. If you go at the right time hopefully your experience will be great too! Highly recommended!

Visited this place after it was suggested to my husband by a local couple seated next to him on a flight. They said it was good and they were right! We ordered the pilsner cheddar bites and lobster brie mac and cheese as appetizers. They were both amazing. We both decided on the fish and chips and were not disappointed. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was even though this pub stayed true to being a traditional British pub by not offering table service, I still would have liked to not have to go to the bar for water refills. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. I would go back to try other items that looked good as well!

Hands down, one of the best restaurants in the area. I have been here numerous times and never had a bad meal. It does tend to get crowded at peak times, so be conscious of that since you seat yourself. They have a nice beer selection for all palates. The nachos and the bison burger are among my favorites. For the nachos, they use small slices of potatoes as the chips, so it’s like eating a baked potato. The bison burger is a nice change from beef and the flavors are great. Come here, you won’t be disappointed.

Great food and great beer selection. We were here on a warm December night. This added to the atmosphere since we were able to eat outside and enjoy the Christmas decorations and the bustle of the crowds in the nearby shops. My burger was excellent.

When traveling to central PA I stay in Lititz just to have dinner at the Bulls Head Public House. It is a little piece of England in Pennsylvania. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy… order your drink and food at the bar then sit back and relax. Had chicken tikki masala and the beet root salad. Both excellent! Will be back next time in the area.

This place had great food and great service. The burger was great, the grilled cheese was great, the scotch egg was great! The tomato bisque tasted a little too much like marinara sauce. The beer selection is good and the bartenders are very friendly and fast. It needed to be like 3 degrees warmer. What’s the deal with cold restaurants.

Very good food. Have never had anything I didn’t like. Expensive, and smaller portions but worth it for the quality of food and atmosphere. You have to walk to the bar and order, seat yourself, and acquire your own refills, so there’s that. However, I think it’s the entire experience that matters. All in all, I would recommend this place. Like another reviewer said though, not really for kids.

My Airbnb host recommended this spot to me when I was staying in Lititz this past weekend. Although I was not looking to sit down and have a meal, I still wanted to post up, enjoy a beer and look out onto charming Main Street. And I must say, this was the perfect place to do just that! The location of Bull’s Head can’t be beat– it is situated in the heart of Lititz, right on Main Street, surrounded by cute mom & pop boutique shops and restaurants. I really enjoyed my walk there from my Airbnb as the town was decorated for Christmas and definitely got me in the holiday spirit. When our party of 2 arrived, we were handed menus and told to sit wherever we liked, and to go up to the bar and order our drinks as there was no table service. We found a high top right by the window and then went up to the bar to order a couple of beers. The tap list was decent, but it was pretty stout and porter heavy– not enough IPA or sour options in my opinion. They did have a Stone Enjoy By– so both of us went with that. It was definitely a good choice. The service was great– both bartenders were on top of their game. The prices were lower than expected, so that was a pleasant surprise! Next time I am in the area I will definitely make it a point to try their food!

Generally great food. Very wide selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Probably the most expensive place to eat in Lititz. The patio bar is pretty awesome in the summer, and it’s great that they do events like trivia night etc. throughout the year. The staff is all great, but they tend to get overwhelmed in the busy season. This has gotten slightly better with the addition of another bar downstairs.

This is as good as the Pubs in London. Great food too. The Bulls Head Burger is the best burger in Lancaster County! We have never had any good that we were not happy with and we have covered the menu.

Waiting for food it’s been 30 plus minutes for soup and other items. Dominos could have delivered by now. The service is confusing, you have to order at the bar then watch a guy come out and wander around looking for the right person for the food

Cute place in downtown Lititz. Pub seating is first come/first served and seems to fill up quickly. No wonder, food is so good! Pick up menu & order at the bar, food & drinks will be delivered to the table. I had the Bangors & Mash… yum! I’ll be thinking of this dinner for some time(as will my taste buds!) Husband had the Reuben, which he liked it very much. Definitely try to make time to eat here. Within walking distance to cute shops & the Visitor’s Center.

We tried to eat here today, but we were unsuccessful. This place is not suited for people with little kids, which is okay, but we wish we had known in advance. We arrived hungry and excited to eat after reading all the good Unilocal reviews but when we walked in we were greeted by a bartender who handed us menus and told us that all orders had to be placed at the bar. This is lame, I think, because a part of the reason I like going out to eat is so that I can just sit at my table, watch my kid, while the server does the server’s duties. Anyway, we were hungry enough and sat down anyway. My husband went to stand in line at the bar while I asked other patrons where I could find a highchair. They told us at the bar. My husband stood in line in our dining room, but after waiting for 5 minutes went to the other dining room thinking that line would move faster. It didn’t… he came back 10 minutes later saying that the other bartender was slowly punching every item of a previous customer’s order into a monitor and that it would take forever to get our order in. He suggested that we leave, which I was fine with me since I still hadn’t managed to get a highchair from the bartender in our dining room. In my opinion, ordering at the bar, while it may be authentic or whatever, is just a chore that you pass on to your customers. Don’t make people wait in line just to order. It is especially inconvenient for people with small kids and the elderly I imagine too. We might try again during off-peak hours on a weekday, when there are no lines, since the menu looks really good.

I was finally able to return to Bull’s Head yesterday afternoon. Sat at the bar with a colleague and received excellent service. The bartender on duty was the same as the last time so I’m guessing he must have had a bad day way back on the 25th of August. Anyway, I ordered the spicy shrimp appetizer which was great and had a couple of glasses of beer. One was better than the other but as everyone knows, taste is personal. I watched this bartender interact with other customers at the bar and new arrivals. This time he was very attentive and did not let himself get caught up in conversations which kept him from paying attention to other customers(my beef from a couple of weeks ago). What a pleasant difference from the last time! He is very aware of all the tap beer available and can easily recommend one based on your description of what you like. I’ll be back, but next time will be a Saturday morning for the Traditional English Breakfast! I am grateful the owner Paul got back to me after my earlier negative review. His communication caused me to return and give another chance to Bull’s Head and to myself to add this as a place to go to more often! The colleague with me will be returning in the near future with his wife as he enjoyed the experience as well.

My parents really wanted to go here for lunch but I was hesitant after looking at the menu since I didn’t see too many vegetarian options. I was in for a surprise though. We sat outside in the garden which was wonderful. Although I thought the 6 pack cases for holding napkins and ketchup was really tacky. We started off with the nachos and hummus and both were delicious. I enjoyed the falafel so much that I asked if they could make the special(a chipotle chicken wrap with avocado and mango salsa) with falafel as my protein. They had no problem with this and it was delicious. I was a bit annoyed that it costs 3 more dollars for sweet potato fries but we all enjoyed our meals and I would definitely come back here. The burgers looked great and my dad loved the fish and chips.

I currently live in Pittsburgh, but I try to make it to Lancaster every other month or so to visit my parents and family for a weekend. The Bulls Head is a place that I am almost guaranteed to visit every time I am in town, and has become a family favorite over the past few years. There is always an extensive selection of beers on tap, and they do a great job rotating the choices. Everyone should be able to find something they like. They update their Facebook page regularly, so you can see what featured beers are on tap at any given time. In addition to beer, they also do cocktails and wine. As for the food, you have to get the honey chipotle wings. Not exactly traditional pub fare, but they are doing something great with these wings. They are both sweet and spicy, and packed with flavor. I suppose I am usually a wing«purist» and want nothing other than regular buffalo sauce, but these are the exception. I recommend getting extra sauce on the side and drenching these bad boys; you’ll have to resist licking the sauce off the plate! They also provide ample amounts of fresh carrot and celery sticks for dipping in dressing to cool things down. I appreciated this; it’s always disappointing when you order a plate of wings and only get two sad, limp pieces of celery on the side. My other go-to is the pulled pork sandwich. The meat is extremely tender and just falls apart, with little to no chewy fat in sight. The meat is tossed in a chipotle-lime sauce(amazing) and the sandwich is completed with provolone and slaw. One of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had. If you’re in Lititz or really anywhere in the area, make it a point to stop here. It’s worth the trip!

Awesome local pub with some fantastic beers on tap. Met one of the head bartenders Jeff tonight and instantly felt at home. The food board looks great. Traditional pub fare with a few extras. Will definitely try next time. It was a liquid diet this time around. Make sure you stop in for a beer or cocktail if you’re in town. Pearl will also greet you in the men’s bathroom. See photo :)

The atmosphere of this place is truly different and special. They stay true their English pub vibe! For a noob, find a good seat(if any since they are busy on a weekend nights!) order your drinks and food at the bar! The service and staff were really nice and helpful! The vibe is easy going and very relaxed. Food was excellent as I had the crabcake dinner and cheese plate as an appetizer. Great place to kick back with friends and to just wind down, right in the heart of Lititz. :)
