Ok place has some interesting selections of meat. Elk, Camel, alligator… And some Coconut flavored Gouda cheese ok cute but the owner was kinda… Well he looked annoyed by our presence. Then again I think it is a «Lankister thing» to be annoyed by anyone that is different. Was gonna buy some camel meat but didn’t like his tone. I am a nice guy so 3 stars.

I passed through Lititz on the way to my uncle’s just to visit this shop recommended by a friend. If you want quality, organic non-GMO fed meat this is the place to go! Everything is frozen so it lasted for the drive. Next time, I plan to fill our cooler. I have a local shop I usually buy organic meat from and these prices are just a tad higher. But you cannot get the more«exotic» meats just as yak and kangaroo anywhere else. Please don’t get me started on the cheeses, if I would have had more samples I would have bought out the whole store. Also, great placement on the brownie brittle being right by the checkout. The Savory Gourmet knew I’d be weak and add that on to my purchase. Everyone behind the counter was super nice and helpful. I would give them 6 stars if I could. I definitely will work my route through downtown Lititz whenever I visit family and stock up our freezer!

The only bad thing about the Savory Gourmet… the store is too small! Always end up spending waaaay more than I planned. John is a genius for always offering free cheese samples. That’s how I end up spending more than I wanted. I’m a big fan of the Sartori Montamore and Merlot Bellavita. The Welsh Dragon cheese with mustard and the Humboldt Fog goat cheeses. They’re all exquisite. If you have any questions about anything in the store John has the answers and always has good recipe tips. If you’re every able to drop by during Lititz 2nd Friday, there’s always a great selection of samples revolving around a theme and small doses of beer, wine or whiskey are thrown in for good measure.

Rather than go on and on about it, I’m just gonna go ahead and agree with everything DJ M said and reiterate a few things. Super friendly owner. Huge selection of fancy cheeses and pretty much every kind of game meat you could want. I have heard that they will acquire pretty much anything you could want as far as exotic meats and cheeses but I didn’t ask myself. When I was there, I believe all or most of their game meats were frozen, fyi Local honey and preserves, fun little insect candies, a little case of gourmet soda’s, various wild game«beef jerky» sticks, all kinds of fun stuff. I purchased a nice little selection of game meats which were mostly all delicious although a word of warning for you adventurous meat eaters… Unless you’ve eaten every other kind of meat and just wanna check this one off your list, do not bother with the python. It was not very good tasting and was about the consistency of a car tire no matter how I cooked it. Almost entirely covering the meat was a thin layer of connective tissue that was impossible to remove. Maybe if you really know what you’re doing, you can make it somewhat edible, but you’ve been warned. And just to make it clear, there was nothing wrong with the product they sold me, it’s just that python meat is terrible. I’ll definitely be back for more

My sister in law knew that while we were visiting Lititz I was on a hunt for a good goose liver pâté’ after visiting Zest and finding two outstanding canned pâté’s from France, I still wanted some fresh creamy pâté’ that I could have sliced off into a nice sized portion. Spotting The Savory Gourmet, she seized my arm and said oh let’s check them out! Oh how fun this shop is, we were greeted by the owner of the shop who offered us free red or white sangria, which he made himself and both were delicious, especially with the free cheese and cracker samples. The Savory Gourmet is a one of a kind, exotic gourmet food store and they only sell the very best that money can buy from around the world. If I was adventurous I would have a field day trying them all, all natural and farm raised, be it steaks, burgers, jerky, sausages, testicles or hot dogs, we are talking antelope, bison, black bear, alligator, rattlesnake, buffalo, kangaroo, elk, pheasant, Mallard duck, lamb, rabbit, wild boar, real Kobe beef, Piedmontese Italian Beef, ostrich, llama, yak, venison, quail, reindeer, python, silver salmon, caribou and more! The gourmet cheeses are just as tantalizing and mind boggling with the best of the best from across Europe and the United States. Here is where I was more than adventurous while sipping my sangria’s and listening to our very knowledgeable owner answer all of our questions and offering us free samples. Boursalt Brie from the isle of France, the best Dutch gouda’s, Bouche & Smethe from our own Lancaster county, the very best buttermilk bleu cheese which would be perfect on a burger, steak, salad or with pears, Irish porter cheddar, although the barely buzzed cheddar from Utah was my ultimate favorite, which is rubbed with Turkish coffee beans and lavender and has a buttery, almost butterscotch ending, this cheese has won countless first place awards, year after year. I don’t remember if they sold ants, but they had plenty of crickets and grasshoppers for sale. The very best olive oils, honeys, vinegars, olives, jams, syrups, mustards, pasta and sauces. They carry gourmet ready made glazes, marinades and sauces to go along with your exotic meats and cheese, like roasted raspberry chipolte, blackberry wasabi, peaches and peppers and a mango-ginger habenero. Gourmet sweets that you may run into once or twice in your lifetime, Pennsylvania maple syrups, limonades and Pa. Dutch made potpie noodles. I did not get my pâté’, as the owner explained that it only sells well around the Christmas holiday, come on Lititz folks get with it, although he assured me that with ample notice he could have it for me on my next visit and I will hold him to this. They have special events periodically and the Oktoberfest sounds interesting with sausages, cheese, beer and wine, I may need to go here to celebrate. Remember the name, they are slated to be on various television channels in the near future, including the Travel Channels Bizarre Foods. I bought plenty of cheese to take home along with quite a few other interesting items, however I left the insects and exotic meats to try when I grow up.

Excellent cheeses and exotic meats. The kangaroo meat loaf was delicious. We bought several cheeses after partaking of the generous samples. The owners are knowledgeable and very friendly. This is a must-stop shop, just across from the chocolate factory in Lititz.
