Food is excellent. Drinks are great. Service sucks. Every. Single. Time. I have been a total of 4 times myself and have yet to find decent service. It’s usually no fault of the but seems they have too many tables and absolutely no help or support. A manager with a tea pitcher or some chip baskets helping his servers would go a long way. We’ve found you need to order your food, drinks, appetizer, and ask for your check at the same time because it may be the only chance you get.

Super Service, great Hawaiian/Mexican restaurant atmosphere. The Salsa was sweet, tangy and very tasty. Had the Tubular steak and there was a lot of steak in it. Only issue was a couple of flies wanting to drink our Blue Hawaiian.

I will echo what others are saying. The food has always been great. I get the Steak Tubular Taco and my wife gets the veggie enchiladas. Service can range from fantastic to absent minded. We will continue to go back but know that we might have to work on our server. Oh and they make homemade tortillas. Huge Plus

Service is horrible. Rude hostess –Liv. I did not need to listen to waiter complain. Too many other places to go to; don’t need to wait 50 minutes for poor service. So no need to go into the food. As part of 5; no one had anything positive to say.

Food wasn’t that good and our waiter seemed to have no idea what he was doing

My wife and I came here for the first time for a late lunch. I am happy to see new restaurants, besides fast food, coming to the region. The man made tropical view is nice for Little Elm. This can be a great place for kids with all the décor. The food is mediocre at best and service, though very nice, not very attentive. The stuffed avocado was ok but nothing to rave about. I may come back to the area to try the water ski place next door and may come back for a drink. I truly wish them the best.

First off, I don’t think this place has an air conditioner. It is very hot inside. If it’s a cool day outside, maybe the patio is better. When my family and I arrived I was told it would be about 40 minutes for either inside or patio. It told her patio that way it would be cooler and the kids in the party would be able to see the volcano and the ducks. I went to sent outside where it was cooler. When other arrived, I wasn’t sure how long I had been waiting at that point, I told them maybe 15 – 20 minutes. So my mother went up to the hostess to ask how long the wait was now and she replied«you only checked in 16 minutes ago so you still have 24 minutes.» Sorry to bother you from checking your cell phone, but this is your job. We didn’t feel like leaving so we waited Once it hit 45 minutes, we asked how much longer as there was a pregnant lady with us who needed to sit down and we were told it would be another 30 minutes because we said outside. We immediately said we would take inside and were taken to a booth right away. Why wasn’t I told about the wait in the beginning for outside? Not sure, but probably because all the hostess were too busy on their phones. Next, our waiter came and he was drenched in sweat. A few drops even feel on the back of the booth. I was so grossed out, I almost didn’t want to order food. It wasn’t his fault as it felt like a sauna in there. I ordered the queso and guacamole which both were good. However, the shrimp po boy had no flavor to it except the ranch dressing they brought with it. Overall, I do not see the hype in this place besides the outside that everyone raves about.

Nice patio for drinking. Food is average. I had a chicken avocado tubular taco. The chicken was not seasoned or marinaded, and the tortilla was hard. My husband wanted the pork tacos, but they were out of pork at 1:00 p.m. He had the shrimp tacos instead. The shrimp was good but no slaw or sauce on the tacos, just lettuce. The rice is not good. I did not taste the beans so I dont know. The chips and salsa were good. The queso is very salty. I wish this was a Hawaiian or Carribean restaurant and not tex mex. The bartender/server was good. If they say they dont have any tables ready and there is a wait… just sit at the front bar or in his section on the patio. If I go again I will just order nachos and a cocktail on the patio.

Horrible slow wrong service. Expensive drinks. Food is ok but not worth the rest of the mess. Cool venue but not worth the hassle or money.

Sooooo, got there at 8:05 pm with coworkers. Ordered at 8:10, an appetizer quesudilla. At 8:50pm I asked again about my food, «five minutes». 10 minutes later, still waiting. Finally, 9:15 I get my luke warm quesudilla. I gave it 2 stars because I’m sure there was something good there. But, that being said, probably won’t return.. |

Coolest place in Little Elm with a lake view and an outdoor bar area. I like their Hawaiian theme and their view out by the patio is great. Their pineapple burger was good but I haven’t really tried anything else. I just like the patio more than anything.

We love Hula Hut! You have to order the fried avocado as an appetizer! So freaking good! The fish tacos are amazing and we love the chips and salsa! My kids always get the shrimp basket and it always comes out hot and fresh! The kids love watching the wake boarders next door and the volcano! Hula hut is a family favorite!

The food was pretty solid, but unfortunately the service was sub par. Our server was very nice, but couldn’t seem to catch his breath. The drinks are a little pricey but well made… as long as a server will bring them to you from the bar. The view is pretty nice from the patio. There is a fake volcano and some tacky, but endearing décor throughout. Overall, pretty good experience, we’d probably go back. Definitely try the stuffed avocado. This alone is worth the trip!

You definitely have to overlook that service is slow. Be prepared to wait a while for everything, but if you get past that, the vibe is 5+ stars, and the drinks, food and value are all great too. I had the Pu Pu Platter with the ribs, which I shared with my daughter and we still took home about 3 lbs of food. It’s gigantic! And delicious. Others had chicken tacos, shrimp rellenos and stuffed avocado. Everybody loved their food. Great place, we’ll hike back up to Little Elm for sure.

I came here with a party of 6 and the waitresses do not even look up(or hostesses) when they are speaking to you. Super fake. «Hi!»(Looking down) «have a great day!»(Talking to friends) I ordered Thai fajitas and I really liked them. We had a great waiter. He was really easy going and checked on us a lot. Made sure we had the drinks we needed filled. My food was really good and I liked the layout and the fun vibe. Just need to work on making the hostesses and waitresses not seem so oblivious and in gossipy la la land when working.

They put a little piece of Florida + Chuy’s in Little Elm on the lake! This spot will be fun in the summer when we get off the boat and are looking for some frozen, fruity concoctions and tex-mex on the way home. There is an outdoor bar on the side closest to the Hydrous water park with views of the lake and open seating. After reading this place is owned by Chuy’s it all makes sense! The colorful décor, pico style chips and salsa, DUH! I was slightly confused on the genre of food they were going for, tex mex and frozen margs with some tropical Thai/Polynesian islander style menu items… The drinks are cheap! And the menu items are reasonable, aside from the fajitas I think are overpriced. We tried the Thai chicken and beef half order for $ 14 and they don’t come with beans and rice, you can add that for an additional $ 1.69. It was sweet and spicy and meat was juicy and tender. I just thought it was strange they decided to go that route and not include beans and rice with the fajitas. Service was off. They seemed either short staff or overwhelmed and were slow and forgetful. We never got salsa or drink refills. Half way through the meal I had to go up to the bar for my own water and she never even brought any water for the other 3 guests with me. I never saw any bussers coming around clearing plates or refilling chips and salsa and the servers/bartenders couldn’t handle it. But considering the lack of restaurants offered on Lake Lewisville, it won’t deter me from future plans of sitting outside, sipping a mai tai watching the sun go down!

1 star on food rating. The food is not good. The atmosphere is cool Though. I would Only come here to drink and eat chips and salsa. It reminds me Of a rain forest café, or t-Rex. It’s all about the theme.

Everything was too spicy, even things that are not normally that spicy. I waited over an hour for a table then over an hour for my food. I could not eat my food because shrimp quesadillas are apparently supposed to be super spicy. Five other people at my table also complained their food was spicy. Two people fanned their mouths while waiting on a drink. None of us complained to the waiter, I figure we will just learn our lesson and not go there again. I still gave it three stars because I like the atmosphere and the drink menu.

I’ve been to the location in Austin. Cute Hawaiian themed place. This location: Slowish bartenders Sucky watered down salsa We had to ask to get someone to clean of the table from the previous patrons and just get service in general. We ordered the shrimp quesadillas and it was extremely mediocre. The margaritas I would give a B-. I won’t be back for awhile if ever. The waitress got better over time but we were done

Am I the only one who didn’t know this place was owned by Chuy’s? My excitement and hunger for good food increased as the inviting hodpodge décor welcomed us(kind of like another Mexican joint I know). My suspense continued to climb as I perused the menu and saw familiar flavors(jalapeño ranch, hatch green chilies, home-made four tortillas, tres leches…). Finally, the phone came out for a Google search when the chips and salsa arrived(the SAME awesomely fresh thin tortilla chips with Chuy’s salsa infused with pineapple). I did a happy dance when my online search revealed I now lived within walking distance of bomb Chuy’s flavors. No need to fret for those who don’t share my Chuy’s love(what’s wrong with you?!), the differences outweigh the similarities. Hula Hut offers Polynesian flavors, hamburgers, seafood, home-made cocktails & more. For Chuy’s lovers, the tres leches recipe is identical(but Hula Hut adds a Caramel, pecan crisp) and sadly Hula Hut’s jalapeño ranch is not Chuy’s creamy jalapeño. In short: life in Little Elm just got a whole lot more delicious.
