Hydrous Wake Park

Let’s start by saying I spend a LOT of money at this place and it’s money well spent! The staff is great with the kids — encouraging, fun, excited for the newbies getting up and riding, funny, seem like they enjoy their jobs — WITH THE EXCEPTION of one young man who decided it was ok/​humorous to tell my 11 year old that he «should just stop trying because you’re just wasting my time.»
Now, I realize this gentleman is young and heavy on the immature side as well as cocky because, of course, when you’re a teenager you know everything and you’re not afraid to tell the world how awesome you are and put down others to make yourself feel bigger and badder. BUT, this is not the time or place for this kind of attitude. Especially when the majority of the folks riding on a regular basis are elementary and middle school aged.
So I’ll wrap up my post with a message to my new buddy Lane. If I hear you degrade my kid or purposely put him down again (or any other kid for that matter) and/​or are anything but encouraging, fun, and working hard to make sure the paying customers are having a blast, you will force me to handle the situation in a fashion that’s not as simple as a Unilocal review. How about you make sure it doesn’t get to that point and realize that the families that shell out a lot of cash at Hydrous are paying attention. Even when you aren’t.
Make good decisions and do the right thing when noone is looking and you’ll do just fine in this world young man.

Tried this place out a couple of times brought the kids. It was really fun, for myself included, and they really did live up to their promise of learning to get up within an hour. The beginner’s track was terrific and I got up after just trying a few times, something which was really motivating to continue. The main track was harder, but it worked out in the end. Very exhilarating!

Awesome place! Right across street from me. I was very scared to have my at the time 7 year old do this. Instructors were super patient and encouraging. Couldn’t ask for better service. Convenient and relatively inexpensive. I even tried myself, I am 200+ pounds and was able to get the hang of it quickly. Every muscle in my body was sore but had a great sense if accomplishment! Good workout and fun! I would like to do those jumps one day.

We bid on Hydrous Wake Park as an auction item for a school function, and we sure are glad we did. Everybody had a blast. The accommodations were clean, the instructor was excellent and the kids were able to wakeboard by the end of the party. They are begging to go back (and we definitely plan to). This is a great way to spend the afternoon. All of the kids are still talking about their experience. Excellent job!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are coupons in Groupon for this location and well worth looking in to. Wake-​boarding on the man-​made lake was fun and a great way to cool off while exercising. This is a great different activity for anyone.
They do not have a lot of food or snacks, however they are building an on-​site restaurant which will be opening soon.
