Things have changed drastically since my first review. Portion size has decreased tremendously. Most importantly, my daughter, while eating her meal found a piece of plastic in her food. Thankfully she saw it before ingesting it. It could have resulted in a real tragedy. I won’t be ordering from Aegea West anytime in the near future

The food is okay but the owner kind of ruins it, he is rude. Him being so rude over runs the okay food. I will not be going here again.

The souvlaki platter, avgolemono soup, shrimp skewers and Acropolis salad are pretty good choices to satisfy a quick Greek craving. However, despite that, I am giving them three stars due to them missing parts of my order for delivery. Whether it was them forgetting my soda, omitting or including something, it has been disappointing on that end.

I honestly don’t know why people seem to like this restaurant. I used to order takeout from them because there isn’t anything around my job and I hated everything ordered which was the buffalo chicken wrap, the gyro, the chicken kebab sandwich and the Greek salad. I will not be ordering from them again.

I usually don’t review places where I haven’t checked in, but the takeout we picked up last night was so bad I feel it’s my solemn duty to do so. The tzatziki sauce had virtually no flavor on my chicken gyro sandwich, though it was absolutely smothered in it and dripping. Looked like mayo. Buffalo chicken sandwiches(hard to screw up) were huge but tasteless, and the feta on the Greek salad was of poor quality, while the house vinaigrette was more a akin to straight up oil than anything else. Even the fries tasted off, and had zero seasoning. I’m sorry to say it, this was our first experience here and we will not return for a second.

Gyros pizza salads. Greek. Solid spot for pizza and wraps. Food was really fresh and made to order. Ordered the regular gyro and it was not drenched too much with dressing. It was equally balanced. The meat did however tasted a bit gamey. So if you don’t like having such a gamey after taste. you might want to skip the gryo. Price wise it’s a bit higher than where I usually go. But pizza is cheap, as it should be. The people making it seemed Greek, so I’m going to assume this is authentic. Right on Northern Blvd. This place is easy to reach if you drive. There’s buses than run here also. Across the street from CVS, so after picking up some meds. you can pick up some food.

Aegea, I remember when you first opened up in the mid-2000s. You were GREAT back then. Buffalo chicken pizza was absolutely killer and among the best in the hood. Gyros/kebob was great. What the hell happened? Used to be my go-to Greek takeout/delivery for years, but things are going to have to change.

Two years later, and still great food. The delivery guys are very friendly. Order using the online app — it’s the easiest.

Stopped in here late at night after getting a Christmas tree on the side of the road. Gyros were great. Staff was very friendly considering how late it was. Has a pizzeria vibe but serving Greek food. Very interesting combination. The place is clean and decorated nicely. I haven’t been here until now because it always seemed vey hard to find parking at while driving by. So I would like to come back during a busier time and see what this place is like then.

Cozy Greek place in Douglaston and conveniently located steps from the LIRR and Q12 bus stop. This place never disappoints. My favorite dishes are the souvlaki, gyro, and lamb chops. The lamb chops are a bit pricier than the rest of the menu but worth it. Grilled and juicy. They have a variety of seasonal salads, try the Douglaston one. Always fresh and flavorful. Their classic Greek salad is mixed perfectly each time with its house dressing. Portions are good for sharing as well. There’s not a lot of seating as it’s spaced like a mini café. You can always order via their app. There’s a discount too for first time customers. Great for lunch and dinner given they are pretty fast in prep and serving. Nice local place. They also sell pizza, pasta and burgers but I prefer to stick to their Greek plates. Their pizza is OK but not the traditional Italian saucy and oregano kind. I like the owner and staff. They are always friendly and offer good service. Must try the Baklava! It sells out so grab it when you can.

We ordered out from this spot today. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich and my girl got the Falafel Sandwich also some fries. My Chicken sandwich was under seasoned and very messy to eat. Their sauce was just spilling all over the plate and toward the end of eating it my sandwich was a little soggy. My girl liked her Falafel sandwich but it wasn’t the best she had. Said it was just a plain nothing special falafel sandwich. The fries were boring. Guess this spot wasn’t too bad. We’ve had much worse else where so…

You know, although I drive by on Northern quite frequently, I would have never found this place if a friend of mine didn’t recommend checking this place out. The restaurant is really small, it’s right across the street from CVS with a green awning over the front entrance. I’m a pretty big fan of Greek/Mediterranean food; I would say this is one of the better, cleaner, best bang for your buck type of place. We usually order the 2 or 3 meat combination platter which is more than filling; if you get a side dish, definitely is enough to split for 2 – 3 people. I haven’t tried the pizza but I’ve heard that it’s also definitely worth a try!

I had a very poor experience with a delivery order from Aegea. The food was cold when it arrived and it was covered in an obscene amount of Tsatziki sauce, making it completely inedible. After calling the restaurant to let them know they had missed the mark(I understand these things can happen) the owner/manager was unapologetic, smug and somewhat rude. If you can’t avoid this place at least remember to order the sauce on the side. The guy has got a real heavy hand over there.

The only reason I’m giving them even two stars is because their food is good. But their customer service can be pretty terrible. The other day I ordered delivery and it took a full hour and a half to get there. I called them after an hour, and when I said I still hadn’t gotten my order and I just wanted to see if it left yet, they copped an attitude and said ‘yeah he left and he’ll be there in a minute.’ 20 minutes later, it still wasn’t there. So I called back again and politely asked if they could call the driver and ask where he was. They put who I assume was the manager on the phone who proceeded to tell me that I live far away(I live about 10 minutes away), and basically, deal with it, and he should be there soon. Then he only apologized at the very end of the conversation as an afterthought after I was clearly annoyed at how I was being spoken to. Then today, I ordered on grub hub. I ordered buffalo wings. When they came, there was no sauce on them. I called to tell them there was no sauce on them. And he said, ‘oh, the buffalo wings are plain, and the Aegea wings have buffalo sauce on them.’ I say, the description on grub hub just says buffalo wings… And usually buffalo wings have buffalo sauce on them, so how was I supposed to know that? And then he proceeds to tell me they have no control over how grub hub lists things(which I know from personal experience is bs), and keeps reiterating that if I wanted buffalo sauce I should have ordered the Aegea wings. To which I keep on saying, unless you specifically say they’re plain on the menu, why should someone assume that«buffalo wings» don’t have buffalo sauce on them, and that I did not want plain wings. And basically his response was just, ‘that’s grub hub’s problem, not ours.’ Then he refuses to rectify the situation, cops an attitude with me the whole time, and at one point after again, I’m clearly annoyed, he says«well, if you order from our website in the future, we’ll take care of you then.» To which I said, «I don’t want this to be rectified at a future date, I am sitting here having wasted money on something I’m not going to eat and you’re saying you won’t do anything about it.» To which he then circles back to it’s grub hub’s fault and therefore not my problem. It’s a shame because their food is great, but their customer service is rude as hell.

By far my favorite take out place. It’s located in Douglaston right on Northern Boulevard. It offers a variety of foods, each with fantastic flavor, quality and price. It very small but has a nice décor. They offer burgers, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, greek food, and a variety of sandwiches and wraps. I’ve only been disappointed by one thing offered here and that’s the burgers. A few years ago, the burgers used to be soooooo great. The past two times i’ve ordered a burger I have been so let down. The first time they cooked my burger to a hockey puck and the second time I gave it a chance I was again let down. Bad luck I guess. Their gyros are fantastic. As other Unilocalers have stated, the meat is perfectly cut and has a great taste. Their chicken kebab has to be my favorite. I’ve never gotten a piece of chicken that was too dry or bland tasting. Their dressing is great along with their dressings. My favorite thing to pickup is the grilled chicken hero. It is so loaded with flavor with grilled chicken, cheese, tomato, mayo etc. So worth it. Keep in mind that parking isn’t too great. It’s very limited street parking with no parking lot. Yes, traffic officers love to give out tickets here. I’ve never eaten in here because it’s very small and I don’t like feeling cramped. Unfortunately I moved away and I miss this place. Hope it continues good business!

So we’re on our way to eastern Long Island from NJ, late afternoon, July 4th weekend. Hungry when getting over the throgs Neck bridge. Have no idea were to eat, use my Unilocal App and we drive to Aegea. Little place, in middle of bunch of businesses, hard to find. What a score!!! The place is small, maybe 8 – 10 tables, big takeout, people coming and going. The food is outrageous. Both Greek and Mediterranean — Italian. the young lady who served us was great, the owner made sure we had everything, the portions family style. And from NJ, we want to go back, super.

Absolutely with out a doubt the worst pizza in the 5 Boroughs. Just got a pie delivered and it tasted like cardboard. The half with the mushrooms and onions was especially bad. The kids barely ate a slice each which normally they inhale 2 or 3. I took 2 bites and had to put it down. What ever was left which was more than half the pie went right into the garbage. Will never order from this place again. Any frozen pizza would be 10 times better.

I stopped in for a gyro sandwich and was very pleased. The meat was thickly cut, not crispy, and very flavorful. Texturally, it was very different from the crispy, thinly cut gyro meat I’m accustomed to. The bottom line is that it tasted good. The tzatziki sauce was also a bit different from what I’m accustomed to, yet it tasted quite good as well. Aegea is a solid greek spot when I’m Douglaston. They also serve pizza and a couple items you’d see at a pizzeria.
