I have to start off by saying that I LOVE cheese and I LOVE Mexican food. When we walked in, we remembered our first visit. It is LOUD. You can’t carry on a conversation because you can’t hear the person sitting across from you. I sat down on the long booth-like bench and felt like I a toddler sitting at the grownup’s table. My sweet husband was nice enough to let me sit in the chair. It was better but there was still the noise. On to the food… I ordered the Plato 1947. I always order the big platter so I can get a taste of everything. My husband had the pulled pork nachos. My plate looked good but the first bite of enchilada was very disappointing. Remember, I LOVE cheese but it was too over powering. The enchilada and tamale were covered in so much cheese that they were chewy. The crispy taco had no flavor. The black beans had a strange flavor and the rice was very dry. My husband thought the pork nachos had a good flavor with the smoked meat but it’s not something he would go out of his way to have again. This was our second and last visit.

This is my favorite Tex Mex are as they say Ark Mex dining establishment. Starting from the frozen mojitos and salsas to the tamales and enchiladas, it’s all great. Only downside, when tamales are ordered with chili you get a side of chili in this little plastic condiment cup. Pretty cheap presentation/quantity for the price. Would love to see the chili served on top of the tamales with shredded cheese and chopped onions. My favorite dish is Chili Tamale Dip, shown on menu as appetizer but makes a great entrée. We dine here at least twice a month. Also love they utilize an app so that you can ‘get in line’ from home.

I grew up in San Diego and spent a lot of time there. I spent a week with friends in La Mision, 30 miles south of Tijuana, just last year. This is not the Baja food I know. Aside from that I have never paid so much for so little in all my days. Looking for a light lunch I was disappointed in the menu, nonetheless I ordered a plate of tamales. I got a plate, a leaf, and two paper wrapped tamales not much bigger than two pieces of Doublemint. I have become accustomed to tamales being served unwrapped here in Arkansas, so perhaps it is customary to use patterned paper instead of corn husks. For me, untying and unwrapping the tamale and scraping the extra masa from the husk was part of the enjoyment. The service was fine. The beer was excellent.

I have yet to eat here because Mexican is not the healthiest of food. However, the food«look» fn amazing. Parking close. Always clean. Very hipster. Bar stools are comfy and the bartenders are very friendly. Overall. Cool place. And they play 50’s and 60’s. Nothing bad to say. And everything is made fresh. I saw dude picking herbs by hand. I’m from Nola so I’m kinda hard to please. But they are doing it up. This being said and after going quite a few times I will say… It’s Mexican food. Really expensive Mexican food. And the domestic beer is way to expensive. They pride themselves on this I guess. If you are not going to add a domestic draft to chose from during happy hour then drop the prices for domestics. 4.50 is a little much to ask for a domestic beer(can btw). During happy hour 4.50 is frankly absurd. Your prices are the only reason you get 3 stars. I can eat Mexican food just as good at a true authentic. Mexican or Texmex restaurant and save a ton of money. Place is cool though.

This place has a really trendy atmosphere and is located in a unique area of LR. However, it is VERY loud inside the restaurant, and the noise level almost requires you to yell across the table. I recently had the Pulled Pork Tacos; the food is pretty good, and the price is what you’d expect for a trendy new restaurant like this one, which can be a little pricey at times.

If you enjoy tacos but not Mexican food, come here. If you like booze that taste boozeless, have a seat. If you want to dine at a place where you get the feeling you could be bros(or bras) with your server, this is your place. My only knock is it’s pricey… probably because I end up having a dozen HT&Teas every time I go there. But still. Just give me a free drink. That is all. Love, Dave

This was my first trip to this much publicized and hyped restaurant, and I have to say that I can see why it is talked about so much. Our table started with the tamales and cheese dip. The tamales were rather skinny but tasty. I am used to my family’s hulking tamales. The cheese dip was a good change of pace from the run of the mill white cheese dip. There were two options up for consideration but I got the BBQ skillet nachos. I really wish I would have gone with a different option. Not because these were bad, but my stomach overruled my mind in that I only like BBQ by itself and not on nachos or pizza or French fries, etc. I was glad I got a separate fish taco; it was great. Only complaint was the price for two adults and one child seemed rather steep for lunch. Two adult beverages were consumed and the total bill was $ 70 before tip.

My new taco Tuesday spot. I love tacos. I had the fish tacos this week and I like it, but my favorite is the pulled pork nachos. GOHERE use their app for«call ahead sitting». The place can get very crowded.

When I was a young teenager, my dad would travel for work across the delta. He would bring back tamales that he would buy from people selling them out of their trunks in coffee tins. They were the best, and I came of age thinking that this is what tamales were. Imagine my chagrin – pain even – when I tried a tamale from a restaurant. Again and again. I gave up eventually, pining away for the day when I would finally taste a tamale the way I was raised to believe they should taste. Until, finally, I tried the tamales here. The delta style tamales. They healed my broken little tamale heart. The service, drinks, and ambiance are great, too. Seriously. The best meal to be had in little rock.

Trendy atmosphere with very yummy food. I had the fish tacos(probably the best in LR I’ve had… batter on the fish was perfect) with black beans and the cucumber tomato salad. Drinks were way above average. My boyfriend had the BBQ nachos… he said they were pretty average and the portion could’ve been bigger. So… Atmosphere= trendy and comfy Drinks= excellent Food= above average Oh! Service was definitely excellent… loved it. Waiter and bartender were both very knowledgeable and helpful.

They may not take reservations, they may not do to go, but there are worse places that you could go to sit and have a great meal. Let’s take you back to a Sunday in September, and my first experience with Heights Taco & Tamale… I was late, I was late, for a very important meet up(you thought I was going to say date), and upon my arrival my friends had chips and queso ready. It was delicious… I sat and perused the drink menu… nothing says Sunday Funday like a bevery or two, and my eyes were honed in on the HT&Tea. Bourbon and their black tea, I sat back indulging on this fine drink and decided that the Breakfast Tacos with Cilantro Lime Rice, and The Cucumber Tomato Mint Salad would be my late lunch. The meal arrived well plated and looked just a great as it tasted. The play on that basic taco was fantastic. The runny egg was a great touch and totally completed the plate. The rice was by far my favorite side. With the salad coming in at completely average. Don’t get me wrong, it was tasty, but it didn’t hold a candle to the rest. I can only assume that from reading previous reviews that the HT&T has made an effort to lower the volume of the awesome soundtrack that was playing in the background. The tunes were great and not intrusive. It is actually what I play on Sunday when I am making my own brunch. I digress, I was able to chat with my friends and had some grand interactions. Heck, it was so lacking in it’s intrusive ways that my friends were able to hear the argument between the couple sitting next to us, ha! Anywho, all and all, I will be back and I will enjoy every moment of this new eatery. It is on my list of go –to restaurants in LR, and now that I know about it I’ll always start my experience with a little HT&Tea.

I was in a weak spot having a travel hangover and I called up. They said they just recently started take out service, thank jesus. I got the breakfast tacos and my life was saved. I could feel myself getting stronger with each bite. My husband had the pickle fried chicken tacos and lord help us, they are amazing. They taste a little bit like chick-fil-a batter but with a yummy pickle kick. I’m so happy they do take out now!

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. But I just don’t. I had the fried chicken tacos and they were just… Meh. They came with rice and the tomato, cucumber and mint«salad,» which was anything but. I also got the salsa trio with the house tomato, green chili and jalapeño cream salsas. The house was pretty generic. The green tasted like it came in a can and the jalapeño cream tasted like someone made instant French onion dip and added sour cream and one tiny piece of jalapeño and threw it in a food processor. I felt like everything was just… Off. Everything tries to be complex, but completely falls flat. It’s like the leftovers from what didn’t make the cut at Local Lime were just thrown together onto a menu here. On that note, you get more for your money taco-wise at Local Lime. So I’ll stick to Local Lime unless they improve by leaps and bounds.

First thing, this place is very loud. Be prepared for that. One of the must visit if you are in little rock. Their rice and beans are fantastics. Their other food is good, but their sides is where they shines. Proportions is pretty good too.

The much hyped Heights Taco & Tamales is a hit! First let me say, the décor and design is fabulous. From the color scheme, to the tile floor, tables, and serveware: it has such a good vibe. Interesting and eclectric, modern and cool, yet not snobby in the least. The trio salsas are a given at $ 3.50. The marmalade one is amazing! Made even better mixed with the jalapeño dip. My husband and I split the chicken enchiladas and tamales. The enchiladas were our favorite. Service was lacking a little. We had a nice waitress, but she didn’t seem very efficient. Even when they slowed down customer-wise. The hostess was sweet and checked on us several times, however. Overall, this is a great addition to our restaurant scene.

So good my sister and I went on a Saturday for an early dinner and really in joyed them. If you are from Little Rock you know to get a margarita. Scott McGee that has several places in the Rock that are known for the margaritas and these of course were wonderful. The cheese dip was so good and had great chips. I got the nanchos and my sister got some sort of tacos and both were wonderful. For desert we split the chocolate sour cream cake and it was to die for, it’s a huge slice so plenty to split.

Atmosphere was popping due to the newness of the restaurant. Service was top notch! Frozen margaritas were extremely tasty. Great bar area! I tried the tamales. Came with crackers & I ordered a side of chili with it. Chili was nice and meaty with great spices. Tamales were delicious but on the small side. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was they only had one choice of tamales. With tamales being part of your name I would have thought it’d be more of a staple on your menu.
