A Wild Thyme Catering and Events

Just attended an anniversary dinner party catered by «A Wild Thyme». When we walked through the door, the smell was incredible. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating throughout the entire dinner party. They did an amazing job with the bar, the appetizers, the dinner and desert. They handled it all from start to finish. I would definitely recommend them!!!

A Wild Thyme catered my father’s funeral. The food was amazing, and my friends and family were amazed at how great the food was and how the staff of AWT handled the occasion with the dignity that is required of such an event. With the help of everybody, my dad’s funeral really became a celebration off his life. Thanks so much. You are much better than what your overall ratings imply. It is odd how a person who was not a customer can count against you. You deserve better.

Lisa & her entire team are fantastic to work with! They provided services for a large baby shower yesterday where everyone raved about the tasty food — so fresh and interesting offerings — and their amazing server services — Becky & Courtney were very busy ladies! The Captain was excellent and the Chefs worked magic in the kitchen. I highly recommend Lisa to anyone who needs a superb quality, professional, and creative catering company. The entire team exceeded expectations. They contributed significantly in making the event a success!

A Wild Thyme was an option available to us off of a required vendor list from our wedding venue. I emailed them to ask for a food and service quote stating that we would like to stay around the low end of our budget ($ 4500). The response I got was as follows:
«I regret that we are unable to assist, as your budget allows for approximately $ 30 per person, and we have no menu offerings that fall into that price range. For budgeting purposes, most wedding buffet services at A Wild Thyme will be priced at $ 65 per person and up. Plated meals are closer to $ 75 per person and up. Both would include a light cocktail hour. Please let me know if your budget is not intended to be inclusive of labor and rentals.»
So, even though I was a little offended, I responded to let her know that we were planning to provide our own rentals and we would not need any food provided at a cocktail hour and that we were looking for a single protein, buffet style meal and I just wanted a quote on food and service costs. I received the following response: «I appreciate the clarification, but I do not think that we are the best fit for what you describe. We are a more upscale boutique caterer, and really don’t offer the kind of menus that you are seeking. Our proposal process involves consultation and custom-​created menu proposals — we don’t generate blind quotes because there are so many variables. Based on what you are describing, I feel that I can say with confidence that we will not be able to accommodate your needs.»
Needless to say, we have booked with another caterer that was willing to work with us to create the type of meal we wanted for our wedding. And one who did not just shut me down by stating that they know «with confidence» that their upscale boutique catering is just TOO far outside of my low end budget.
If I was the sales manager of this business, I spend some serious time working with my sales staff on how to provide a customer experience that doesn’t make people feel like your business is too good for them and they could never afford to book with them. For all they know, my budget was $ 4,500– 10,000. Of course, I am trying to spend as little as possible. Who wouldn’t? But with the service I received, they won’t ever know and they won’t receive a good review from me.

A Wild Thyme did a terrific job catering a party we had for 20 friends this past weekend. The food was delicious (we ordered several appetizers, including lamb sliders, duck tostadas and chicken skewers), and Kim and her team could not have been better to work with. They did a great job preparing the food, helping with food and beverage service and cleaning up afterwards. A Wild Thyme really helped make our party special!
