Taqueria Los Caporales

I cannot begin to say how amazing this place is!!! If I could eat here everyday I would. I have tried a lot of their dishes and every single one of them is so amazing. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. Thank you all for always making my meals the best of the best!!!

I continue to be a regular customer here. So today I stopped by before 2pm. I have been coming here for three yrs and never had their pupusas here due to the cutoff time of 2pm for pupusas only. Also keep in mind I am Salvadorian and this is the only place advertising pupusas in Livermore. So, that’s as good as they get around town. So I get my pupusas’s and they looked delicious. I cut the edge around one and opened it. Looked so gooey dived right in. to my surprise the first bite actually tasted like a real pupusas. Until I noticed it wasn’t a pupusas. I asked for a revuelta, cheese and chicharon «grind pork» and instead I got a quesadilla with shredded beef and cheese. BIG WFT. the curtido was fresh and crisp. Although I will never eat or order whatever that was, I will continue to come here for the other delicious food and their great tasting orchata. I personally think they should take that pupusas advertising off. Seriously!!!, shredded beef??? Pictures don’t lie.

So I came to eat at this restaurant today to my surprise the girl in green was eating where the food is being prepped putting her fingers in her mouth she was eating a plate of shrimp and at times poking the meat that people are eating when washing her hands all she did was raising underwater

I usually go here all the time with great food and service but today I went in and ordered my usual pastor super burrito. As I was filling up my soda I looked over to where they were cooking and a lady stuck her bare finger in the guacamole and then licked it. She then proceeded to make my burrito without washing her hands even after that. Luckily I got no guacamole today. But that was disgusting and I will never come here again and only go downtown los caporales for now on. I told the lady that brought my burrito out what I saw and hopefully she sent her home for good.

Good Mexican pick up place. Not much for ambiance. Great salsa bar. Authentic mex drinks. Burritos are huge and tacos are pretty big too.

Better squeeze that Poop Dropper! If them tacos don’t do you any favors, you’re out of f**king luck!
A door with no lock and a toilet stall with no door = go F*ck yourself! Never seen a Mexican joint not equipped with good olé access to a poop catcher. Everyone knows that squeezing a smelling one out is part of a long f**king history of eating Mexican eatables. Going to this beanery is like buying candy at the movie theaters, they both tell you to go f*ck yourself without actually saying it.

The super burrito with pulled chicken is AMAZING!

En lo personal casi no me doy la oportunidad de escribir en Unilocal pero es la tercera vez q pruebo este restaurante y la comida es decente, la michelada muy buena, pero el restaurante esta súper sucio en cuanto me senté la primera vez q fui, note que los saleros están asquerosos parece q nunca los limpian, no quiero imaginarme cómo estará donde preparan la comida !!! PENSARE EN REGRESAR !!!

A standard Mexican place pretty reminiscent of Mexican food in San Diego. Wide variety of salsas, there’s a dark red one that was mildly spicy and smoky that I loved and a lighter red one that was watery, not so bold, sort of a bitter/​sour versus spicy. Go dark. Free chips if you spend more than 5 dollars which is close to the price for most midsized items here. I had chicken quesadilla and basically covered it in Pico de Gallo and it was delicious, their pollo asado game is strong. And the staff is polite.
Not quite a San Diego taco shop but it was an overall good experience.

Very dirty restaurant actually saw a cockroach run across the kitchen floor. I tossed the meal in the garbage and left because the owner would not give my money back. I will Never go back!

I can’t believe this place has 4 stars. Went here late on a Friday night. Everything we ordered sucked — Carne Asada to Chicken Fajitas. Beans tasted like from a can. Guacamole was watered down. I don’t know. Maybe a bad day for these guys. Chips and salsa bar was the only saving grace.

They make pupusas here. It’s delicious. They do have a cut off time they stop making it at 6pm or earlier. Should be made till they closing. 4 stars because it’s not always so clean in there but great food.

This place has very tasty Mexican food, especially for the price. I’m not saying it’s comparable to San Diego Mexican places, but it is definitely the best Mexican food I’ve had in Livermore.
My husband had a Carne Asada burrito where he substituted fries instead of rice. It was so good! Full of flavor, and the fries were perfectly crispy and warm. I myself got a taco plate with a Grilled Chicken taco. The taco was delicious, although the rice and beans were a bit bland. I think next time I’ll just go ahead and order two tacos a la carte.
We also ordered Horchata, which was very delicious and flavorful. Super sweet, but not too sweet. And while waiting, they offer a self-​serve chips and salsa bar, with very tasty salsa options. Overall, if you’re going for fast and cheap Mexican food, you definitely have to try this place!

I was a huge fan of El Castillo on the the other side of the tracks for ages. When they removed lingua from the menu, I had to find a new place to eat. Love this place. Every one is friendly and the food is fabulous. They even offer different types of tortillas! (Try the spinach tortilla next time!) Great service, great food, great atmosphere.

The décor is as cheesy as the quesadillas, but food-​wise, this place is top notch. The ceviche is fresh and tasty, and the carnitas are cooked to crispy perfection. Terrific value for the money.

The lást time I eat went to los Caporales in Railroad I got a fish filete breaded that it was huge… And so good !!
Also I took a pic of their salsas bar because everytime I go I found so many options not like in other places where you only have 2 or 3 kinds of salsa I give five stars because I love to go there not so cheap but totaly worth it!

Really great food! I love their carnitas. Was told to try this place when I moved. When I walked in I saw several families, which is a good sign. Small dining area, so this will likely be a to go spot for me.
The pupusas (I think Tue through Sun during certain hours) rice and beans were good — and my boyfriend is picky! I had an al pastor soft taco which was awesome as well as a carnitas super burrito, also awesome. Giant hunks of porky goodness throughout!
Huge menu with many items one doesn’t typically see at just any taqueria, like molcojete and whole fried tilapia. They also have a few soups and lots of aquas frescas options. Staff was also really friendly.

This place has decent taqueria food and I stop by when I am in downtown livermore for some quick cheap mexican food and a cerveza. Haven’t really had any issues there before but I went tonight with two friends and we sat outside to eat. We stepped away for a short moment literally about 6 feet away from our table and when we got back the table was cleared and our food was gone.
I had finished most of my food but someone I was eating with had ¾ of a large quesadilla and that was cleared along with a few half empty drinks and lots of chips and salsa. I do understand that mistakes happen but there is no way the server did not see us and when my friend went to ask her she said sorry she thought we were done. My friend asked if she could make him a half quesadilla since she made a mistake and she adamantly refused. When my friend started asking again and explaining it was her fault for clearing the table prematurely she pointed to the trash can and told him that his food was on the top and handed him the box straight out of the garbage. This woman’s name was Octavia. I took a video of this happening but I can’t figure out how to load it here.
Basically the food is par for the course but the service and their health standards are absolutely atrocious. I will not be eating here again despite the fact that I come here regularly and I will advise my many friends and family members locally to avoid it as well. If someone will hand a customer food that is in a garbage instead of replacing a meal they erroneously threw away who knows what corners they are cutting in the kitchen?
